The heel raise is an important exercise. Unfortunately, it is often overlooked and, worse, not done well. In this video I demonstrate proper form for the heel raise exercise.

So glad I found this channel, while I’m still young, and can prevent unecessary pain and weakness, caused by forgotten muscle groups 🙂
Thanks for making it simple and straight to the point.

Hello Margaret, if this is for putting a spring into our step, then is this strength building for alternate days? How many sets/reps?
Wasn't there an earlier video with heel drops to build stronger bones?

Hello, Margaret, can you please do a video on how to exercise and develop the inner calves? Thank you, and happy holidays.

Hi Margaret, thanks for sharing this video. When walking should we land on our heels first? And can walking around on tip toe be good to strengthen the calf muscles too? Thanks.

Hi Margaret. I cant raise up on my toes at all..This affects my balance. I'm at a loss what to do. This seems to have happened immediately after a laminectomy years ago. Any thoughts?

Hey, I also have this problem! I've been looking everywhere to see what I can do to fix it, as I've been trying to fix it by myself, but I don't think I'm engaging the muscles. I came across a video of sitting down and laying a weight across your knees/lap and doing the heel raises on that.
I'm not sure if this will help build up the muscles to the point where we can do what's in this video. But I'm going to give it a go. From what I've seen, a straight leg is supposed to be important for the exercise in this video. I'm hoping it's still possible to train the muscles while sitting.
The only other way I can see to do this is to use leg press with low weights at the gym or maybe a resistance band.
