Good morning I just found your video this morning when looking for exercises that I can start doing at home. I have had RA in my knee since I was 2 years old and I am 53 now. The years of constant inflammation have now cause OA in my knee. I have recently begun Orthovisc injections, however I know I need to exercise this leg. It is starting to feel very weak from preferring the other leg for so long. This is probably the best PT video I have watched. You are very thoughtful to explain each exercise and how it will strengthen the knee. Thank you.
Newly diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and finding my knees hurting more and more along with inflammation. Did these exercises and immediately felt the difference. Going to do these every morning
So glad I found your video. You are an excellent therapist. I am looking forward to seeing more. I am 69 years old and have very weak and painful knees. Thank you

Alyssa, you are a blessing! Thank you for these videos! I am finding them to be so helpful in my own life. You give hope and help to those suffering with arthritis. Thank you for what you do. Please keep it up!
I had a heart attack 2 1/2 years ago. Six months later it was discovered my iron had dropped quite low. I've had 3 iron infusions since. So with all this happening in a relatively short time, I stopped doing almost everything. I was falling so often that I didn't dare go out for walks even. So, from about 2 years of doing nothing, I've discovered I have extremely weak knees, thighs and entire legs. I'm only 64 years old. I should be able to get up from the floor! I stumbled (no pun intended!) onto this video. This looks perfect for me! I see you have other videos that address my problems. I'm going to subscribe and save some of these videos. Thank you so much! I'm going to start right away.
Thank you for this excellent video. I had a knee and ankle injury and was having difficulty climbing stairs without pain, but after watching your video, you have given me hope. You are awesome! ❤

I follow many You Tube creators and just found Dr. Kuhn. These exercises and her explanation of each is second level. I have a knee injury that flared up existing OA plus my dad who is 86 is struggling with leg strength. I will attempt to bend him to my will and do these exercises. He will be SO annoyed at being told what to do! Thank you for this great content. I shared it as well.
God bless you Doctor for this video... I have arthritis in my right knee.. This video has came at a perfect time line. My goal is to strengthen my knees to hopefully enable me to get back to doing the elliptical machine. Since a few years ago I nearly had a disaster happen while performing on the elliptical for my usual 30 minutes. About 28 minutes into my workout my right knee nearly gave out. Thank you for your video😊
In another video you mentioned consistency. I fell off the strength training wagon over the holidays. I was having fun doing holiday aerobics videos and didn’t take the time to work on my strength and balance. Then I noticed I am having difficulty getting up from low chairs again and both knees started feeling sore. Uh oh! I pulled out some old lower body PT exercises and this video today. Oh my, I have lost core and leg strength. Back to work.
This video is great! I love how you explain what to do very clearly, but also how the exercises help. Thanks so much! I am incorporating these into my exercise routine.
Dr. Alyssa, I don’t have knee arthritis, I have osteopenia in my hip and osteoporosis on my neck and spine. I do all these exercises with you and absolutely love it. The main key is moving and loosening & strengthening joints and muscles. Thank you 🙏
Alyssa , your videos are so practical, you make them easy with your explanations, AND THEY WORK, PRODUCE POSITIVE RESULTS..........have for me ❤Alyssa❤ YOUR THE BEST!!!
Wow! Adding the pillow to the chair squats helped so much! I noticed, before adding the pillow, that I was plopping down a little. Adding the pillow made me aware of doing the movement correctly and eliminated the plopping! Thank you for your awesome videos!
I am so happy that you are teaching these techniques. I am 75, have already had bilateral hip surgery back 2019 that went very well. Since I take many supplements and eat organic, 95% keto, I am otherwise healthy on no medications. But, I started to develop loss of cartilage in one knee to the point that particular knee is becoming quite knock kneed and painful if I do too much and I can now only go up stairs one at a time. While I started taking a supplement to target cartilage regrowth, strengthening the legs has become quite a challenge. I am allergic to chlorine in pools, and can no longer do a lot of walking, but I am thrilled to be able to finally do the chair squats with your technique and your other exercises. Your videos are invaluable and I know this will allow me to regain much needed leg strength! I am feeling much more hopeful now! Thank you so much! I'm wondering if these techniques will help to straighten knock knees... perhaps they will.
Knock knees aka knee valgus can be improved with exercise. Target hip adducters and glutes.Strong glutes are something we tend to lose as we age Just squeezing them while sitting is a great help
It's great that you show us these exercises. It's really helpful. None of my doctors for rheumatic diseases shows me any exercises. Thank you so much! 😊❤
I am amazed. My Orthopedic Doctor gave me exercises to strengthen my knees for Arthritis. He is very conservative with operations, what I really like. I did his exercises for about four weeks, but see only little improvement. I think the exercises the teacher shows here looking much easier to do on a daily basis. I will switch to her exercises and hope my legs strengthen more. I do other strength training as well.
These are wonderful exercises with great explanations. I'm 8 weeks post op after a knee replacement, and have been doing exercises for the flexion especially, (my extension is good), but it is always painful right above the outside of the knee. The pillow to force you to work the hips is great and I'm looking forward to trying the adjusted lunge. I'm working on a step that I had raised to 8", but it is definitely painful in that spot, so going to try this variation. I have an issue with my peroneal longus muscle being very stiff and catching on top of the fibula that I'm working on with a PT and we've managed to loosen up the ankle a bit. But always great to see different exercises and variations.
It's so lovely your presentation and your advice. This makes so much sense to my knees's problems. I'll definitely practice these. Thank you so much Alyssa. It's a sweet and encouraging advice. Bless you ❤
Your videos are awesome! Great exercises, and you explain everything so well. I particularly liked the tip for chair squats, about bending at the hip first to take the stress off the knees. I'm bone-on-bone in my left knee, and this has made getting in and out of chairs (and my car) SO much easier for me. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos and advice for fighting arthritis, you're a true inspiration!

Thank you.
Simple and very detailed. You are a blessing. Thank you and keep up the good work.
You're welcome! I will continue making videos.
Got hip replacement and have occasional knee pain. These are great to add to my current PT regimen, 'Thank you !!
Glad you like it!
Newly diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and finding my knees hurting more and more along with inflammation. Did these exercises and immediately felt the difference. Going to do these every morning

Walking backwards upstairs, needs focus yet the lack of pain in left knee was surprising
Your helpful videos give me hope xx
You got this!
Wow! Such good information. I've been looking for simple but effective exercises that my 87 year old mother can do without hurting herself and feeling confident at the same time! Thanks so much
Welcome! Make sure to share with anyone else you think would benefit.
Good morning. Just watched your video. I wanna say thank you so much Dr. Alyssa. You're a blessing to us!

Thank you! This is the ONLY knee/seniors/arthritis exercise I have found - and I've scrolled through hundreds! which actually takes account of the pain in the knee! SO many have 90yr olds happily straightening the legs without so much as a wince, groan or creek! Finally, someone knows that - arthritis HURTS! THANK YOU! 👍
Excellent video. Explaining each step so clearly and precisely. You are one of the best fitness instructors on TH-cam.
I really appreciate that feedback!
These really work! I got relief immediately and can now sleep pain free. Thank you!!
Thank you so very, very much for trying to help us with joint stiffness issues! You’re very sweet and kind!

Thank you! I appreciate your clear directions and demonstrations of how to strengthen our muscles. I’ve had a hard time lately with a knee and do not want to get an injection as was suggested by a physician. So thank you!! I’m starting your exercises today. 😊

Thank you sooo much for these movements. You explain so well. I actually did them with very little pain. Thanks again from the uk.
So glad you liked the video!
Just got my third partial meniscectomy surgery after 33 years ago where I have my first and second surgery. Thank you, your knee exercises do help.
Glad you like the exercises!
Thank you very much I ' ll start practicing these exercises as am not keen of doing knee replacement stay blessed
Hello 👋😮 this is exactly what I needed, iam recovering from a stroke, my right knee is weak. Thank you very much. God bless you dear 🙏.
This video is great! I love how you explain what to do very clearly, but also how the exercises help. Thanks so much! I am incorporating these into my exercise routine.
Your directions are great and easy to follow. There is more reason behind them. Thank you! It should help me going up and downstairs.
Glad you like the video!
I have runners' knees, and the pain and swelling are often, especially after running. I'm going to try this, thank you.
Best of luck!
Absolute best video I have ever experienced regarding this issue! Thank you AK!!
Glad it helped!
Dr. Alyssa, I don’t have knee arthritis, I have osteopenia in my hip and osteoporosis on my neck and spine. I do all these exercises with you and absolutely love it. The main key is moving and loosening & strengthening joints and muscles. Thank you 🙏
I’m glad you love them! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Alyssa , your videos are so practical, you make them easy with your explanations, AND THEY WORK, PRODUCE POSITIVE RESULTS..........have for me ❤Alyssa❤ YOUR THE BEST!!!
Happy to help!!
Wow! Adding the pillow to the chair squats helped so much! I noticed, before adding the pillow, that I was plopping down a little.
Adding the pillow made me aware of doing the movement correctly and eliminated the plopping! Thank you for your awesome videos!
So glad you like them!
Target hip adducters and glutes.Strong glutes are something we tend to lose as we age
Just squeezing them while sitting is a great help
Hello,I tried your knee exercise, thank God for blessing me to find, try your exercise I'm without pain, stiffness
So glad you're seeing a benefit.
It's great that you show us these exercises. It's really helpful. None of my doctors for rheumatic diseases shows me any exercises. Thank you so much! 😊❤
You are so welcome! Glad you liked it.
Bless you ❤
You are so welcome!
Glad you like them!
The pillow aide is superb while being a simple prop. Sincere thanks!
