- The Simoniz Platinum 1800 and the Active VE52 are essentially the same powerhouses with minor differences in the market standards. For many years, Active has been supplying Canadian Tire with all of the Simoniz electric pressure washers with the goal of bringing consistent great quality products, and a dependable customer support system.

Hi! active VE52 had a serious problem when replacing the hose with a 50 foot one. this problem and the problem with the on / off button have been resolved on the active 2.0 model! should i expect to have these problems on the simoniz?
2-stage valve was updated a year or two ago on both active and simoniz. Issue is resolved, FYI i have the Simoniz with a 50ft hose with zero issues.

Question...does changing the hose to a 50ft hose cause problems for the start stop feature on the simoniz?

They sell them already man check Canadian tire literally make em already but the unloaders are shit
While we are waiting for the Active 2.0, the Simoniz is on sale this Father’s Day at Canadian Tire. May pick one up for the Momentum Toy Hauler to wash ATV etc after a day of riding before loading.
The 1800 Platinum is a great deal, especially when on promotion.
Hey Tim, where did you see it on sale? I'm in Ottawa and see them listed at $299 (don't think that is a sale price) but definitely want to grab one on sale.
I see the non-Platinum upright version is on sale for $90 off, but not the Platinum 1800 compact one.
I requested info so I can return a defective VE52 pressure washer (it keeps cycling on and off), and I've heard nothing...
I answered all the questions I was asked in the 3 emails I received, and then nothing.
Am I supposed to be stuck with a bad unit?

@@zaceryhammond1144 yes this would make the most sense. Even mine (gen1) does not shut down after releasing the trigger at times. I have to depress the trigger 1-3 times to get the unit to shut off. More of a nuisance than anything but annoying.

Do you know what is the size of the pressure washer hose at bolt end? Is it M22 and 14mm ou 15mm?

I just bought a Simoniz Platinum (VE52) Will this have the surging problem (Like the early original VE52s) if I use a 50ft hose on it?
No, they have been updated with a 2-stage valve to fix the issue

The Simoniz Platinum is only available here in Canada but the CAT 1800 is being sold in Europe which uses the same internals as the Simoniz :)
Does the Simoniz Platinum 1800 have the same motor on/off switch as the 2nd gen VE52 that is currently available on the Active website? Is there a manufacture date that 1st gen 1800 models would be vs 2nd gen 1800 models? Thx

I purchased a Simoniz Platinum 2100 psi. 1.5 gpm. 9Years ago for personal use. It has been a great performing machine. I have a 40ft motor home, Antigue Cars , tractors,Pickup trucks,Etc. & This machine is still working well.( But today I am on My way to CTC Campbellford On. To Pickup a new S/P 1800/2.0. 😊 Thanks James for all Your Info. Cheers.

Not initially, but of some of the tech will find it’s way into Simoniz for 2023!

No, it will only be under Active
Awesome focused video on Simoniz. Bought one after seeing one of the other Q&A vids and love it so far. I will say it was tough to pair it with an aftermarket hose which was m22-14 but once I found the adapter it was great

Can you please post here the adapter to work with M22-14 hose? What I found on amazon was a combo between male-female M22-15 and M22-14 which can be expensive as you have to buy 4 quick connect adapters 14 and 15 for each end.Thanks.

Is the xe32 essentially the same pump as the 2.0?
It is our patented 5 piston pump. But design and component characteristics are completely different.
Not impressed with the Ve52. Got it, and keeps on cycling/surge back and fourth. Just opened the box and it is doing it. Too bad , this thing is passed my return . Or else Would send it back. My ryobi/Sunjoe/Karcher has never had such issues EVEN running 100 foot hose. As well, the psi is much much lower then what I was expecting relative to all the social media hype. 650 psi with a 4.0 (Obsessed Garage Recommendation size ) , 800 with the supplied 3.7 (Came with Machine ), I got a 3.5 on the way going to try to see if I can get even 900 psi out of it. But, the surging will probably kill the motor by the end of the month .
I can post a video of it on you tube to demonstrate the issue. But, if you do a quick google search there seems to be quite a few of these issues. Which I was never aware of , and blindly bought it based on OG recommendation.
Should mention mine is from Canadian tire, under the Simoniz Brand. 1800 platium model. I've also tried to get in touch with Simoniz in regards to warranty or replacement. But, they are pretty much the most unhelpful CS EVER. If you can even get in touch with them.

Just want to know the latest status of your issue. I was about to get a Simoniz Platinum unit as well. Will see.
@@goodrobby hey, simoniz sent me a new replacement. Which I just tested yesterday. Getting 1k psi with 3.5 nozzle and 900 psi with the 3.7. Default hose and 75 foot hose has no issues in regards to surging no more. So I’m pleased with the results. I would say the revised newer stock is fixed of the surge issue. I would buy it , and do not open the box. Call simoniz or active and confirm the serial is newer updated one

So, you deleted a critical safety device simply because it "isn't mandated"? Wow.
CSA, the governing body for product safety doesn’t consider a GFCI a critical safety device for Canada - and in the private label business we also have to consider what our customer (Simoniz) wants and is willing to pay for.
Canadian building code requires all outdoor 15/20 amp to be GFCI if memory serves, so mandating an outdoor device to use one is redundant and could be problematic. Also if you noted the US version is a two prong, ungrounded device, not the same as a 3 prong grounded plug used on the Simoniz unit.
