Ive had it over a year, best unit on the market for the price/ gpm.. once you get quick connects and a better wand/ foam cannon its a game changer

Before anyone asks the Simoniz Platinum 1800 has the updated 2-stage valve that fixes the surging issues with 50ft hoses. If you've bought one in the last 1+ years you have the updated model
Not mine. Mine surges, really frigging badly with my uberflex hose. I'm beyond frustrated because CT doesn't have a money back policy. You can only get store credit which is not what I need.
How can you tell if it has been upgraded? Canadian Tire can sell older stock at reduced pricing like they are this week.
@@peterjung4680 I bought mine last year (2023) and use a 50ft uberflex hose with no surging issues. The issue was addressed/updated in 2022, I highly doubt there's any remaining old models in 2024 unless you like in a small town with a low volume Canadian Tire.

these pressure washers would be even better if they had wheels. a low hose input and output would make it so easy to pull them around with the hoses. thats what i like about my Spyder that i bought from CT but its starting to die off so i'm looking at this guy to replace it

Very good video. I just went out to buy one at canadian tire on sale. I'm going to get the better add ons as you said will make the job a lot more easy. The hose that comes with the unit is way to short 19ft

My main usage will be to wash the decker and fence. Is this one good or should I buy something with higher pressure but low GPM? Now struggling with this one or the 2300 psi spyder from Costco. That one has higher psi but GPM is only 1.2.
For washing a deck and fence I would probably look for a 2100-2300 psi rating and a 1.6-1.8 gpm.
However be aware that if you get to close to the wood you will start to peel it and cause damage.

Just bought mine about 2 weeks ago and finally got to hook up a 50ft Uberflex hose with McKillans' quick connect fittings, and it started surging really badly. Leaked from the fittings so i retightened them and the surging still happens. Went to all the stock stuff, and it surges still.. this unit is either shit from the box, or it is NOT the updated version. Pretty choked that in 3 years, I've had not one pressure washer from CT that lasted me a summer.
How can you tell if it is the upgraded version? Is there a manufacture's date stamp?
Sounds like you may have a defective unit, bring it back to the store for a possible exchange, or contact the manufacture. They are a great unit and not the typical unit that is normally sold. I hope it all works out for you.
@@peterjung4680 The unit I bought had a shipping sticker with date when it was received at the warehouse. However the update has been out for about a 1.5+ years so any in stock units should be the updated version as these do not sit that long in the stores.
@@BrunoTombari I just bought one yesterday at Canadian Tire discounted to $229. There was no dated shipping sticker on the outside of the box. I haven't cut the factory shipping tape yet to open the box to see the contents inside in fear of having bought the original version without the upgrade.
@@peterjung4680 You should be fine, I can't guarantee it however seeing the volume CDN Tire sells and that the update was 1.5 + yrs ago, you should be fine. It is unlikely they have been sitting on 2 yr old units in the warehouse as they do not buy in that kind of bulk. It does not make financial sense to do so. After you use it let us know your thoughts.
