    I looked back to your review of the Ryobi 1800 psi pressure washer. Over 1,000 psi and 1.4 gpm. It is currently $109 at Home Depot. I got mine on Black Friday for much less. Great little unit.

    Great video Josh. I have had the VE52 for 2 full seasons. Difficult to detail up here in Maine during winter. I have well over 100 hours of usage. Active 2.0 will definitely be my next unit. 👍

    Great info Josh. I just got a 2.0, set it up with the 50 ft. Uber flex (awesome suggestion, Thanks!) and I prefer the 4.5 orifice tips (shared 15 amp circuit) since I still get plenty of pressure for my needs. I've run it for a few hours now and have no issues with surging, great little unit! On a totally off topic seasonal question, have you heard of any mobile detailers using a back pack sprayer for rinse less jobs during cold weather? I have a My4Sons M4 battery powered unit that seems like it would be an awesome tool for mobile guys needing to get a gross cleaning flush of debris when flowing water is not an option. It has a 4 gallon capacity, battery powered and plenty of pressure to dislodge mud, salt & road grime, not to mention you could apply your prerinse for a rinse less detail to a full size truck in a matter of a couple minutes with no hand pumping of your Marolex or IK sprayer. I opted for the 100 psi/1 gpm pump in mine and have no doubt it would be awesome for a ton of mobile applications. Could be a cool topic to look into? Who knows, 5 years from now, you could be known as the "Back pack sprayer Goat" if folks found it useful?

    Since they had the issues at the beginning of the VE52, I am worried the same will happen with the 2.0. If I am buying a new one within a year, I'll go VE52 to let the 2.0 bugs be discovered by the more adventurous folks.

      getting a replacement for my VE52 since the pressure shut off switch goes bad on them and the machine just keeps running. I liked using it lots of water. On the 2.0 it is now M22 14 MM instead of the M22 15 MM outlet

    • @annagraham6204
      @annagraham6204 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s my thinking also. I like the aesthetics and design better on the VE52 anyways. With no significant difference in power the extra 100 hours of lifecycle won’t matter if it doesn’t make it the first 100.

  • @offcamber
    @offcamber ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Super comparison Josh!
    The original VE52 should be run with a 25’ to 35’ hose for longevity of the unit.
    Active says the new 2.0 was designed to run longer hoses with an improved pressure switch and cooling.
    My VE52 died after a couple years of heavy use in the hot south with a 50’ hose.
    Just picked up the 2.0 and so far so good!

    Can you please close your camera aperture more when filming so you have greater depth of field? f/5.6 or higher. A lot of shots end up out of focus because you're moving through the narrow depth of field constantly. Also your black levels are too dark, looks like you're switching on some kind of filter when there aren't graphics on the screen. Thanks for the tests.

    I am not impressed with the active ve 52. I cannot get more than 750 psi using the nozzles provided and the 50’ Uber flex hose and am getting 1.8 gpm. I am providing this unit with city water at 65 psi. My Ryobi 1800 gives me 1050 psi with a 2.5 nozzle and I am getting 1.5 gpm. For my money the ryobi is the way to go getting much more pressure and only .5 gpm less with a unit that costs only $99 at the Home Depot.

    I like the new model but it isn't worth an extra 100 bucks. It will be interesting to see if Canadian Tire markets it under the SimonizePlatinum brand. I'm not sure where this would fit in the market at 479.00 to 499.00 Canadian dollars. I suspect the VE52 variant will continue, they raised the price 15 percent this year and will likely raise it another 15 percent if the 2023 US pricing is set at 249.00. Personally from a "packaging" standpoint, you would think they would have at least thrown in a wall mount for it. I think it is a step backwards since one of the main features that draws customers to the VE52 is how it stores away neatly, never have to look for parts. I use the VE52 when I detail my vehicules early in the morning because it is so quiet and used it this morning but it doesn't hold a candle to the Simonize 3200 Platinum Gas Powered unit, which I used to prep my truck for coating. Also, you knocked the foamer attachment included. I don't know why you did that because it works great with an electrical PW like these an is perfect for the typical user who doesn't wash cars for a living. In fact I can't think of another consumer Chinese PW that comes with a foamer and four tips.

    • @BeyondLumination
      @BeyondLumination ปีที่แล้ว

      Most users of these active products use their own attachments based off customer data from active themselves. That’s why they decided to sell and design the 2.0 as a standalone product which is sold out. Their package set up is not sold out.

  • @400080vikkash
    @400080vikkash ปีที่แล้ว

    The spike is normal for start up draw. It will not trip a 15 amp breaker. Only way it'll trip it is if you have another load on that ckt and it'll be a matter of time before it trips but a spike should not trip it right away. Either way garages are supposed to be on 20 amp ckts so average Joe shouldn't have any issues.

Not to mention I like to wash cars in the morning, which makes the noise more noticeable. Gas ones are a no go for the same reason. I know many low end electric pressure washers you can access the plungers and change the oil with some mild disassembly even though they are not “user serviceable”, I changed the oil in an old HarborFreight electric unit that’s 10 years old

    Thanks for the video but honestly this is frustrating as all hell. I have yet to find a single pressure washer at an affordable price that looks like it's even worth buying at all. Every pressure washer I look up online has a 'bad hook review curve' (more 1 star reviews than 2s, 3s, etc) with a ton of people finding that they're garbage products that essentially break after little use and waste your money. I don't see how an Active pressure washer is much any different or better for the same reason.

      From what Ive seen from the Active videos you don’t need a lot of pressure coming from the spigot as long as you have the water flow. Too much pressure on the other hand can hurt performance.

    • @timkinley1779
      @timkinley1779 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The flow going in only needs to match the flow going out. So if it's output is 2gpm, then the input only needs to be 2gpm. That's the purpose of the pump.. to pressurized the water.

The exact amount of hours any one unit will get would be hard to measure in real-life use. I have a Coleman brand pressure washer that was actually made by Active back in 2011. It just started to leak oil from the base recently and it has over 10 years of use, which is incredible for a throw-away unit.

      @@ridefastjumphigh420. Yes obviously it depends on conditions and use case for each machine. But they are just using a baseline and saying this unit gets 200 hours compared to the 100 hours from generic’s from big box stores.

    So how would you compare active 2.0 or ve52 vs greenworks pro 2300 for a diy!
    With that most diy’s are probably going to want multi purpose use like washing vehicle and use around the house!
    I’ve watched a lot of your reviews and according to your numbers the comparison of the 2 would be very similar

      If you put on a turbo nozzle on the active it will be plenty capable for small intense jobs. If you need more than that (washing an entire house) you’re better off having a secondary gas pressure washer

      I just bought the 2300 and the time it takes to ramp up is really annoying. I thought the wheels would be good but I rather just carry it. The 2300 gets tangled up as you roll it around and the wheels get dirty and mess up what you just cleaned

    I bought the ve52 last year, very happy with it so I won't upgrade until it fails.

I wish I had something like that when I was starting out verses the super expensive in person training I did. For me the detailing training was good but I had no info on marketing or how to actually run the business. His course covers alot of that. He has a money back guarantee as well so I think it’s worth checking out

      @@imjoshv thank you, I went to there website and it’s made in China and wish this machine is serviceable for that price range with 200 hrs for the 2.0 so I end up buying a karcher k1700 cube for 112 I bought 3 so for same price of active 2.0 it’s also none serviceable machine at least 300 hrs for all 3 and I really like the AR blue or the kranzie due to rebuildable but it’s way overpriced for me. Thank you good video review.

    Too bad for me you didn't have the 10% off code available a week or two ago, I would have gladly purchased that way to help support the channel. I hope to see my 2.0 this week sometime but I'm still waiting on the shipping confirmation. Thanks for the comparison.
