Take the msf course. I went in with the same mentality of I know how to ride. I did the weekend course and passed with flying colors, not everyone will. I learned so much in the classroom portion and the riding portion, i will never forget it and was truly humbled from the experience. My class had people who've never rode to people who've been riding for 8 years but needed that insurance cut(speeding tickets). I can tell you it doesnt matter how long you've been riding. A guy with 8 years of experience failed the course because he could not do a U turn or ride on a straight line as slow as you can without putting your feet down, he pretty much failed all the riding section. The instructor we had scoulded the guy, telling him its easy to go fast and how he doesnt know how the dude was still alive riding 8 years like that and proceeded to tell him he does not belong on a motorcycle. The guy that failed was a douche and came into it with a big head. Its a safety course, teaches you how to survive on a motorcycle. Take the damn course.

Absolutely agree.i done the course and I believe I am much better of a rider doing it, now where I live its mandatory to take it to actually get ur bike licence. I too rode before that rule come.out but I had to do it to get my open licence and I learnt so much more.then I thought there was too riding..

If you live in Pennsylvania then take it. PA is the only state were it's all free, literally every course including track days. All completely free.

Is it free out of state as well?

I live in PA and I see listings for $290, I do see a listing for $0 in Pittsburgh though.

In my opinion it is worth it. There was 8 people in my class and only 4 passed and get the license with me included.

In Canada this question is real easy......insurance is mandatory to ride here, and you will have a very hard time getting insurance without it lol....as for weather I have entered the sad winter season where I will not be riding until April :( it's not the cold, but the roads covered in black ice and road salt are a bit too much!

I've never been on a bike before. I don't even know if I want to buy one. But, I'd like to see if I even enjoy them first. Would the MSF be for me or should I only do it if I'm sure~ I just am not getting any younger, and I want to feel alive a bit.

i would def try it and if you truly don’t like it in the start they will most likely give your money back!
