    The CB1000R isn't a hyper-naked and nobody shopping for one wants 200hp, or they would look elsewhere. It's for the rider who has a CB650R and wants to upgrade to a more powerful and more flexible engine. Also it's for someone who wants refined, elegant styling, and not some deranged Autobot or post-apocalyptic insect. Yeah, I mean old guys. 😂 It is not overrated. It is perfectly rated.

      Getting a tail tidy and a SC-Project S1 (for example) and the single sided swingarm really shines even more. Looks so damn fine.
      I rode an MT-09 and an MT-07 as well and they´re different riding experiences that the CB1000R, but i preferred the CB overall. I like the sporty vibe, meaning that you kinda have to get it into high rpms for the power to come through. That also means that you can ride it in chill mode daily, just keep it under 5k rpm. Wanna go really fast, just put it beyond 7-8k and you´re getting rocketed forward just enough for me.

    I think you have the Z900 confused with another bike. I've been riding since 1985 and have had dozens of motorcycles (Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Harley) and the Z900 has got to be my favorite bike hands down. Adding a full Akrapovic exhaust system to the bike not only wakes it up, but makes it one of the best sounding inline 4s out there. Swing your leg over one, preferably with a full exhaust, and give her a spin.

    I'm going to go ahead and say I am biased but, the CB1000R is a timeless gem. Yes, it's over priced, yes, it's engine is detuned, yes, it isn't a super naked. However, 143hp is wayyyy more than anyone needs for the road, the reliability is second to none, it's produced in Japan, and in 20 years people will still say, "That's a great looking bike."

  • @seth3000gt
    @seth3000gt 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +30

    I have to somewhat disagree.
    I have a 2024 Z900 SE edition. I wasn't blown away by it when I first got it. But, after I didn't ride for over a month and rode a 600cc Ninja supersport, a 2024 MT09, and a CF Moto 450 NK, I was actually surprised at how much I missed my Z900 SE. Yes It is heavy-ish, it's not too heavy though, but that weight actually helps with stability going down the road at any decent speed. It is an interesting bike to look at, I don't mind my SE editions looks. It's not perfect for a few reasons but, for the lower cost, good reliability, that great torque! plus a little over 50MPG it's really not a bad bike at all. It's funky, but maybe not in a horrible way. I prefer the look of a supersport for sure, but the Z has it's own little place. Oh, I think the ZH2 or H2 aren't any better looking at all. Naked bikes generally don't look all that good, especially the MT09 or MT10, yuck! They are terrible unfinished looking bikes. 3 cylinder engine sound just don't do it for me either. It's like a Geo Metro with a 3 cylinder, they just sound not quite right. Either 2 cylinder or 4, pick one. If Yamaha would have given the MT09 better more finished looks and a 4 cylinder under 440 lbs I'd be absolutely sold. But, sadly no. That's where the Z900 comes in. Name me another new 4-cylinder naked bike that can compete with the Z900 that isn't heavy......?
    And KTM? Uh, no. Reliability is top of the must haves long over a few less punds on a motorcycle.
    Oh, and Yammie sure did forget to mention that the ZH2 and H2 are well over 500 lbs!!!

    • @DoraTheNinja
      @DoraTheNinja 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You have to remember every motorbike can just ride down the road fine. It's more about performance and power to weight when we are talking about motorcycles. I don't think the z900 even has an option with fully adjustable suspension. It puts it in the heavy and cheap daily rider not a track or performance focused bike which is why he is saying they're over rated people think they're the best bike they are mediocre

    • @seth3000gt
      @seth3000gt 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@DoraTheNinja I hope my comment related my thoughts clearly. I don't think the Z900 is the best bike ever. But, many bikes aren't the best bikes ever. Maybe some people think it is the best bike ever, that's ok too, I'm sure you have a favorite that you think is the best bike ever. Oh, and just for some info, my SE edition has fully adjustable suspension including an Ohlins rear shock with external preload adjustment, special paint and gold anodized front fork tubes. It's pretty cool. I wanted the MT09, but ended up with the Z900 after I rode the MT twice. It was awesome too though. But, the MT was just too unfinished looking and the 3 cylinder sound was just not right as you kept riding it. A very cool bike though. Not sure what bike I would go with if I sold my Z and was looking to "upgrade". I do mostly around town and an occasional canyon ride. The Z really fits that role well. I did change my horrible stock seats, I put different mirrors on it, a slip on muffler (which lopped off 6 pounds) and a tail tidy. It's pretty good now. I get a lot of comments and interest in it everywhere I go. Oh and a quick side note that wasn't mentioned by Yammie, the ZH2 and H2 are well over 500 lbs!!!!! But, he sure made a point about the Z and the CB1000 being a"heavy" 470 lbs.
      Oh, and the Z is actually 465. Minus 6 pounds for the muffler on mine. So, mine actually weighs 459 ish pounds. That's not terrible at all for a 4 cylinder 948cc bike if you think about it.

They call it a neo sports café which as long winded as that name is it describes it perfectly. It's stylish and beautiful café racer looks mated to a fairly sporty chassis, suspension and brakes topped off with an absolute diamond of road going engine. And make no mistake the old 1000cc long stroke from the rr4-rr7 fireblade is an absolute corker of an engine, it's turbine smooth, huge midrange grunt and way more top end rush than anyone can realistically need from a naked bike.

Of course the V2 also has a less powerful engine (110HP) but still pack punch and will happilly mach the V4 performances for less fuel consumption. Agile, comfortable, with tons of bells and whistles the V2 his neglected because why not the V4 since where at it? Most guys will select the V4 because: more powa! But at the end of the day. They stop laughing when they see me with my V2 in their mirrors and then realize they have to stop refuelling while I continue my ride for another 120 km (80 miles-ish).

    I disagree with the CB1000R. If the reason to avoid it is because it's not as powerful as you want it, that's not really the point of the bike in my opinion. I think the detuned engine just gives you the Honda reliability on a snappy sport naked. If I wanted an incredibly fast bike, I probably wouldn't go for the sport naked line. The Ural I don't want to agree with, because I think the aesthetic of them and stability with a side car (side cars are definitely not overrated, you can bring your dog) but they're unreliable and WAY over priced. I knew a guy with 3 and at least one was always broke. I'd like another manufacturer to offer something similar, but more reliable.

    Appreciate that you don't join the bandwagon of other channels and try to sell a hype for products. Please, stay the route.

    BMW GS is fun, insanely comfortable, easy to ride, and can do anything. It also weighs far less than the Gold Wing, which is something you failed to mention. The fact that old men buy them and do nothing with them isn't the bikes problem

    The Z900 looks soo good! Too bad I didn't like riding it. But its engine totally makes sense: it is based on the legendary ZX9r engine, although not as powerful. And 10k is a good price.😊

    What ? No KTM 1290 ( to match the multistrada and the 1250 GS) , no Suzuki ( getting overpriced by the day) , no Triumph and , of course, no Yamaha. But 2 BMW models in the top 10. I'm feeling proud of my babies ( although not those on the video)

    Gimmie an old pre-2005 bike. Carbs or early injection. Cable throttle. No shitty electronic toys I'm happy.

    Nothing quite tickles my fancy as an air cooled bike with a homemade rack and a good ride to some distant campground.
    Different strokes for different folks.

    Z900 offers you simple and raw experience yet you called it boring.
    S1000rr offers you speed and thrill yet you called it boring.
    GS and multistrada offers you refinement and advance tech yet you called it boring.
    Go out and just walk or run. Hahahaha

    Normally I don't agree with papa Yam. But every single point, is completely valid. GS, MS both so overrated. Get a GW or RT if you wanna tour, get a T7 or VstromDE if u want an allroad. Also I'm a big Honda fan, but agree that they missed the mark with the CB1000R

    Nah man, the Z900 is a good-looking bike, but I will fully agree that it's a design that's not for everyone. It's like a Lambo versus a Ferrari...you either really like the hard angles in the L, or you prefer the smooth flow of the F design. But some of us like all of them. And where is 470lbs a "whopping" weight? My bike weighs about 650lbs...I doubt I would notice the different between 425lbs and 470lbs, especially if the extra weight is low. That weight difference is meaningless on the street.

    Although being a Ducati fan, I couldn 't agree more with you on the matter of Multistrada. It 's just an unnecessary show off vehicle. I really miss the very first, air-cooled 1.000 cc Multistrada. It was beautiful, light, nimble, and tons of fun. Practically a 1.000 cc supermotard, suitable for everyday use and fun in the twisties. Why the hell did Ducati go down the "hyper-adventure" route?

    • @fieramente
      @fieramente 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The problem with the original Multistrada is sort of in your description. You sit on the bike more than in it, which makes it feel like a motard. Not ideal for touring. But yeah sound and fun factor is great.

      KTM did someting similar with the 990 SMT, which was great fun. Now you have monstrocities like the 1390 Super Adventure or whatever. It's only about profit margins, and currently they probably regret some of their choices....

      @@fieramente Why "problem"? It's not that it was the most aggressive riding position one could find. Secondly, you could easily gp on small trips with that first Multistrada, even though it was not a "tourer" per se. Finally, Ducati had the SS and the ST2/ST4 range back then. And the latter were indeed great tourers - and very underestimated bikes IMO. So, why the dinosaur?
