I honestly started to think my DJI Naza was faulty. Spent many hours trying to get escs to arm. Radio was set right and everything. Using the rmilec lrs and turnigy x9 radio. But after watching your video it fixed everything. Cheers mate. Perfect explanation video. For the amount of investment made on the controller and the gps, I wish they had better setup videos. BTW problem was the safety start up, needs to be in atti mode and move both sticks to bottom left and it will start up.

Thanks for the great video, sorted most of my questions, I just have to get the toggle 3 way switch set so up is GPS, middle is Atti and bottom is failsafe. then course lock and heading lock on a couple of the 2way switches and I should be all set. @1janak1 did you let the gyro initialize before taking off (5 solid seconds) also there is a thread on RC groups that talks about the bullet plug from the esc. To hard solder the cables to the esc instead of using those bullet plugs. I have a friend that did it, twitching was eliminated.
I yould start by incrementally lowering pitch and roll basic gains. To set up gains you should start from low values like 60 and go up until your copter starts to oscilate on the axis you are tuning and than decrease the gain a bit. In your case just lower them until your f450 still levels itself quickly after a quick stick inut but does not overshoot or oscilate. Use remote gains adjustment,it makes life simpler)

Thanks! 1) may seem crazy weird but I find it the easiest to set up mode switching. I describe in the video how I use flat pitch curves to choose flight modes. Basically you can assign 3 pitch curves to 3 positions of a 3 way switc on Turnigy 9x in heli mode. To do it in plane or glider modes you have to use lots of mixes and it all gets unwieldy to adjust late. Yuou don’t have to do it if you want only 2 modes on 1 switch or have a better radio with a dedicated 3-position gyro or gear switch.
I followed everything you said and my quad is flying perfect. I also set the gimble control and IOC to the left handed knobs. Very easy configuration. Thank you. Did you configure the GPS as well. I tried but could not get it to read out the green flashing led to tell me that it was in gps configuration mode. Maybe I didn't do it right.
are you using a stock Turnigy 9x radio module? If so, I'm sorry to inform you that it does not have failsafe. You should either do without failsafe or buy a better radio module (like FrSky two way radio module with telemetry that I use)
Hello I am setting up my new turnigy 9xv2 with naza v2. I have u channel from the naza connected t o chan 6. the 3 way switch works but the throttle is bound to the u channel and therefore moves my control mode. How do you unbound the throttle to the u channel? thanks for your helpful video.
I am getting a Naza GPS so would it be possible to set my three way switch to GPS-->Fail safe-->Altitude mode and just forget about the manual mode? I have a turnigy 9x tx
Does switching off the TX shows up as a Fail-safe in the Software? If not then the Fail-safe is not set up correctly. Also, if you have GPS choose whether you want the quad to fly to you and land or land on the spot of loosing the signal (Autopilot->Enhanced Fail-Safe method) If all is set up correctly, fail-safe without the GPS results in a flashing LED and a quad starting to descend to the ground.

Sorry for my ignorance kirikset. The video is fantastic but I dont understand why do you set up the 7 and 8 chanels, because I understand the fly mode (U) in the naza controller is assigned to the chanel 5 of the reciver. thank you for your help
HI Thanks for the helpful video. I've got an interesting issue which i can't solve. DJI assistant shows me in the TX Cali window that each slider is green, but my sliders do not move at all when moving the sticks.(Also the MC Output is "On" i notice yours isn'y in the video) I did notice that when i power up the Quad that the Versatile Unit, and Receiver power up fine but the ESC's make no noise at all?? I'm using a HK Power distirbution board, and Turnigy 30amp Esc's with Sbecs built in. Any help would be great.
2) not quite sure. You should check esc min-max throttle calibration and try adjusting motor idle speed in the naza controller to the left (slower speed).

what happens if you take your naza out of the copter, connect it to the VU, power it up with nothing hooked up? Does it flash the light like a normal start up sequence? Try connecting to the pc to check the the light turning green and wheather the naza sees you transmitter input. Also check ESC's and motors by hooking them up to the transmitter directly, calibrating, checking all settings on them and running your motors. could you please share what you've checked and are 100% shure that works?

Hi I have a NAZA M LITE but it will not let my computers see it, I have tried the fix for drivers with no luck. I have windows 7 8 10 and a 7 I got to see if it will connect with the same results will not load no usb. 4 week so far the unit is good DJI said go find help so I have been asking for ideas.
have you run stick calibration? are ESC's connected according to the manualand wired correcttly? do you perform one of the CSC movements to arm the NAZA (like both sticks to the bottom left), are all channels reversed correctly according to the NAZA software? What color does NAZA flash after it swiotches on if not connected to the pc?
Ohh I see, so the best thing if I want to use home lock is to change to Frsky. Now that you are being so nice. I dont know how far I can use my radio without losing signal. Is there a way to setup the turnigy to use failsafe when I turn the radio off?

Hi, it would never let me change it I had it made for me and when I down loaded the software it will not work? it comes up but when I plug it to my quad it's like I never plugged it up? I can not change the setting? and this was from day one I got it? I may have to send it back to them. and have them work on it. but then I will be with out my quad for 2 to 3 weeks. it did something last night it started spinning around I had to go to my subtrim's and input 100% to get it to stop spinning!?
I called the store and they walked me through the steps on how to down load the software but it will not work on my quad? maybe the ESC is not working??? I/m so lost I do not know what to do next? I can not find the software now on there web-sight do you have a link I can go to to get it? I will try to down load it again to see if some thing went bad when I did it the fist time.

hey mate i have a spectrum dx8 and I plugged in all the plugs in the right spots and i turn it on and it flashes does the normal flashes and then does the 3 green flashes then it flashes red and when i connect to pc i have 8 errors and it says i have too call naza do u think i have a broken unit?? thanks
I'm running into a problem with my setup, which is really close to your's. I am using Naza M Lite and Turnigy 9X 8C, but I can not seem to get out of Fail-Safe . I can not get Attitude or M to turn blue under Control Mode Switch. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you for the help.
I followed your video and everything works except for one thing - elevator axis. When I connect naza assistant it seems like it moves only in one direction (pitch down) and it's twitching a lot. I double checked the cables (replaced the one on E) with no success. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi. im using a Turnigy 9x and getting a CFG-ERR on dji naza assistant program. this is the error: CFG-ERR Configuration error, this may cause by firmware upgrade from old version. or abnormal Tx calibration. Re-calibrate your transmitter, and power cycle your controller and check all of the parameters. Is there someone who know what i should do?
hi there I cannot set up the transmitter link loss failsafe on either of my naza m v2's. the turnigy 9x just will not work. I am using standard v2 with v2 module and rx when I turn off the transmitter it just stays in the air until I switch the radio back on and retake control. as far as the 9x failsafe I have tried to use it to activate the failsafe value on the three position switch and this does not work either. any ideas.....I am starting to think of a futaba t8j.........!
I'm not sure but I think all this radios are created different depends on geographical location. I think it's a good video. Did teach me more about Turnigy 9X 9ch radio.
It fly's great till last night it started spinning around. but from day one I never could use the software on my quad it will not read the quad? it's like it was never plugged up? or maybe the I did not down load it right? I called the store I picked up my quad from but they told me to send it to them? not much help. I can not send my quad out every time there is some thing I can fix, it cost a lot of money and time. I get a green light when I plug it up but that's all. it will not do a thing.

question to you, or anybody. set it up exactly like the video same transmitter Naza v2. My problem is the throttle on my transmitter moves the rudder on Naza assistant, and the rudder on my transmitter moves the throttle on naza assistant. its like they're reversed. my transmitter is a Mode 2 (throttle and rudder on the left) receiver is connected as follows... ch1> A. ch2> E. ch3> T ch4> R. any help from anybody would be greatly appreciated

Извиняюсь, не очень понимаю ваш вопрос, могли бы иначе сформулировать? Да, для запуска моторов необходимо делать Arm после включения NAZA. И не совсем всегда при снижении до 0 канала throttle будут останавливаться моторы. Подробно это написано в последних версиях мануала к DJI Assistant и в самой программе. Посмотрите подробнее настройки manual/intelligent относительно остановки моторов. Они остановятся сразу в режиме manual, даже в полете. в intelligent логика хорошо в инструкции описана.
My GPS unit has not arrived yet( I currently have no idea how it is set up, seems to be just plug, mount and adjust two gains. I will however do a video on how to dial in gimbal parameters the best possible performance as soon as my hex is up and running (about a week or so)
hello it is a great video and i'm using the same parts as you do but i cant arm the copter program see the th9x its working calibration is ok every thing is done but when i unpluge the naza from computer drone doesnt arm and take off motors are not runing bottom line i can't arm the copter can you please help me with that if you want i can share a video also....
Hello. I also have a Turnigy 9X transimtter and receiver. I have followed your instructions 100% step by step over and over again. But can not get rid of the error cfg 8. Your help will be highly appreciated. By the way, your video is the best I`ve seen of this kind.
I do not own WKM, it is an overkill for my smaller quadcopter and I really have no complaints or missing features compared to WKM to buy it for my much bigger hexacopter. I do not know anyone personally and have not seen step by step setups. Maybe check DJI youtube channel, they seem to post lots of tips. 9x may be not enought if you want to use all features at the same time and i strongly advise againts using it with stock radio link as it lacks fail-safe. If in no hurry - buy frsky taranis

I happen to use heli because for me it lets me set a 3way switch on the turnigy 9 x for flight modes. I was not able to do it in acro.
Can I use versatility unit (with USB cable) from Naza MC 2.0 to plug in to NAZA lite MC for programming Naza lite?

You can see the settings for V Hexa-rotor. For a quad just choose appropriate configurationd and start with lower gains.

I just got my Naza but new to the quad, what is the first step to get the driver and software downloaded into my computer. There was no information that came with the DJI Naza what steps need to be taken when you received the unit. Will be so kind and tell me what steps need to be taken. Thanks.

Hi I have a NAZA M LITE but it will not let my computers see it, I have tried the fix for drivers with no luck. I have windows 7 8 10 and a 7 I got to see if it will connect with the same results will not load no usb. 4 week so far the unit is good DJI said go find help so I have been asking for ideas.
have you run stick calibration? are ESC's connected according to the manualand wired correcttly? do you perform one of the CSC movements to arm the NAZA (like both sticks to the bottom left), are all channels reversed correctly according to the NAZA software? What color does NAZA flash after it swiotches on if not connected to the pc?
Ohh I see, so the best thing if I want to use home lock is to change to Frsky. Now that you are being so nice. I dont know how far I can use my radio without losing signal. Is there a way to setup the turnigy to use failsafe when I turn the radio off?
did you install the USB drivers for the naza???

hi, I found and solved the probleme (broken connection between two pins on the upper plate). Now I`m soon ready to go..but can I ask...Is it either gps or failsafe? If both, how can I set it.
Hi, it would never let me change it I had it made for me and when I down loaded the software it will not work? it comes up but when I plug it to my quad it's like I never plugged it up? I can not change the setting? and this was from day one I got it? I may have to send it back to them. and have them work on it. but then I will be with out my quad for 2 to 3 weeks. it did something last night it started spinning around I had to go to my subtrim's and input 100% to get it to stop spinning!?
I called the store and they walked me through the steps on how to down load the software but it will not work on my quad? maybe the ESC is not working??? I/m so lost I do not know what to do next? I can not find the software now on there web-sight do you have a link I can go to to get it? I will try to down load it again to see if some thing went bad when I did it the fist time.

hey mate i have a spectrum dx8 and I plugged in all the plugs in the right spots and i turn it on and it flashes does the normal flashes and then does the 3 green flashes then it flashes red and when i connect to pc i have 8 errors and it says i have too call naza do u think i have a broken unit?? thanks
I'm running into a problem with my setup, which is really close to your's. I am using Naza M Lite and Turnigy 9X 8C, but I can not seem to get out of Fail-Safe . I can not get Attitude or M to turn blue under Control Mode Switch. Do you have any suggestions?

I followed your video and everything works except for one thing - elevator axis. When I connect naza assistant it seems like it moves only in one direction (pitch down) and it's twitching a lot. I double checked the cables (replaced the one on E) with no success. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

One more question: does your receiver support fail-safe?
if you have the Naza connected to the PC does it go to fail-safe mode when you turn off the transmitter?
What receiver -transmitter combo do you have?
Is fail safe set up correctly on the receiver?

Hi. im using a Turnigy 9x and getting a CFG-ERR on dji naza assistant program.
this is the error: CFG-ERR
Configuration error, this may cause by firmware upgrade from old version. or abnormal Tx calibration. Re-calibrate your transmitter, and power cycle your controller and check all of the parameters.
Is there someone who know what i should do?

I cannot set up the transmitter link loss failsafe on either of my naza m v2's.
the turnigy 9x just will not work. I am using standard v2 with v2 module and rx
when I turn off the transmitter it just stays in the air until I switch the radio back on and retake control.
as far as the 9x failsafe I have tried to use it to activate the failsafe value on the three position switch and this does not work either.
any ideas.....I am starting to think of a futaba t8j.........!

I'm not sure but I think all this radios are created different depends on geographical location. I think it's a good video. Did teach me more about Turnigy 9X 9ch radio.
It fly's great till last night it started spinning around. but from day one I never could use the software on my quad it will not read the quad? it's like it was never plugged up? or maybe the I did not down load it right? I called the store I picked up my quad from but they told me to send it to them? not much help. I can not send my quad out every time there is some thing I can fix, it cost a lot of money and time. I get a green light when I plug it up but that's all. it will not do a thing.

Hi) It's ok I may be confusing you in the video. I set up extra channels to later plug them into remote gain ports and after that use them to switch on/off orientation leds remotely. Would you like to see more setup videos? or more flight ones?
question to you, or anybody. set it up exactly like the video same transmitter Naza v2. My problem is the throttle on my transmitter moves the rudder on Naza assistant, and the rudder on my transmitter moves the throttle on naza assistant. its like they're reversed. my transmitter is a Mode 2 (throttle and rudder on the left) receiver is connected as follows...
ch1> A. ch2> E. ch3> T ch4> R.

It is possible that something has suffered damage under the rain you've described.

Извиняюсь, не очень понимаю ваш вопрос, могли бы иначе сформулировать? Да, для запуска моторов необходимо делать Arm после включения NAZA. И не совсем всегда при снижении до 0 канала throttle будут останавливаться моторы. Подробно это написано в последних версиях мануала к DJI Assistant и в самой программе. Посмотрите подробнее настройки manual/intelligent относительно остановки моторов. Они остановятся сразу в режиме manual, даже в полете. в intelligent логика хорошо в инструкции описана.

My GPS unit has not arrived yet( I currently have no idea how it is set up, seems to be just plug, mount and adjust two gains. I will however do a video on how to dial in gimbal parameters the best possible performance as soon as my hex is up and running (about a week or so)

hello it is a great video and i'm using the same parts as you do but i cant arm the copter program see the th9x its working calibration is ok every thing is done but when i unpluge the naza from computer drone doesnt arm and take off motors are not runing bottom line i can't arm the copter can you please help me with that if you want i can share a video also....

Hello. I also have a Turnigy 9X transimtter and receiver. I have followed your instructions 100% step by step over and over again. But can not get rid of the error cfg 8. Your help will be highly appreciated. By the way, your video is the best I`ve seen of this kind.
I do not own WKM, it is an overkill for my smaller quadcopter and I really have no complaints or missing features compared to WKM to buy it for my much bigger hexacopter. I do not know anyone personally and have not seen step by step setups. Maybe check DJI youtube channel, they seem to post lots of tips.
9x may be not enought if you want to use all features at the same time and i strongly advise againts using it with stock radio link as it lacks fail-safe. If in no hurry - buy frsky taranis
