Wow, I do not post to many comments, but I wanted to say THANKS a bunch for all those that appreciated this video. I am really glad to see it has helped so many. Thanks a bunch guys, Take care, Patrick
The best step by step I have seen. The only small complaint would be to show the Transmitter's Face at the end of this video. It would be more helpful to me at least if I could of seen what you were actually doing on the Transmitter. But like I said best step by step I have seen. Do one on the Gimbal.
Thanks, this has been really helpful for me assembling a F550. I found that the bullets that came on the DJI motors weren't very reliable though. Already had to replace them on two out of the six motors after my F550 started twitching. Talked to a few of my flying buddies and found out I was not alone. I now intend to replace bullets on all remaining motors as well.
nice professional and clean build. I am in the process of getting the necessary parts to build the DJI F550 with GPS Naza myself. This is going to be helpful, thanks..
I would go with the futaba T8J, I think it looks nicer, is more user friendly, and spektrum is known to... black out every once and a while; it will just stop responding. It's all your preference though :)
Thanks for the video. It looks good. I am in the process of buying a DJI F550 now. looks like a lot of fun. Were did you get your Locktite applicator it look much better than the old tube?
Same questions as Claus about the power to the receiver. Does it get power from any of the inputs from the NAZA like A to Channel 1 or do the BAT pins need to be hooked to power from somewhere?
If you turned the NAZA slightly and made it even with a leg (instead of in between two legs) does that change the forward flight? I was thinking of adding 4 legs to a hexa (not 6 legs) so that a camera wouldn't show the legs in the frame.
Ok, I got my 550 and a Futaba 8FG super. With my ipad on my left side running your video, the build process went smoothly until the wiring, which has slowed me down. My questions are probably so elementary, that you did not think about showing it in the build process but I am a RC newbe, so everything is new to me. First, how to connect motor and ESC. How to wire up the receiver and Naza and connect them to power. What to do with receivers 2 antenna wires. Hope you can help me out. Claus
Excellent video! I am now putting together my F550 with gimbal and FPV, how many flights do you have with the NAZA V2 so far and has it given you any scary incidents? Has the V2 behaved well for you so far? Thanks!
Great video, also I am wondering what other parts are required to attach a gps that somehow can be used to control the hexacopter , camera that can connect to a phone using the gopro app or to a controller that connects. Overall I am wondering what I need to live stream from a camera connected to the hexacopter. Thanks,
hello my friend, I listen'm putting together a F550, and liked me as you have armed, and would like to know how is called the shield wire you used to tuck the wires of the motors and speed controllers? and where I can buy it, I would greatly appreciate that puedieras help me with this thank you very much.
Great tutorial video! Do you know how to install a gps onto it? I have the phantom but am thinking about ordering the 550 with GPS. This would be my first build :)
You can change between X and + formations on any of the common setups, but I'm not sure if there's a firmware for 10 arms. It's an odd number so it doesn't really make sense.
hello, how did you power your Rx when you hook it up to the Naza? Did you plug it with a UBEC before the battery or plug it straight in to the battery power source?
Great video! Had a couple questions if I could. Can you please explain the rear of the NAZA input setup again with the receiver? "A" on NAZA goes to "AILE" on receiver. "E" on NAZA goes to "ELEV" on receiver. "R" on NAZA goes to "RUDD" on receiver. "T" on NAZA goes to "THRO" on receiver. 4-pin on LED module to "LED" on NAZA. Then 3-pin to "X3" on Naza? Is this all correct? I am planning to use a Spektrum DX7s trans with AR8000 receiver. This is my first build so please understand ;-)
The kit I received came with the NAZA LITE + GPS. Do you have any quick tips on how to attach that? I see many TH-cam build videos on the F550 but none of them that I have found show how to attach the GPS unit and where it connects on the rear of the NAZA. Thanks again!
if u can help me, where can i find a plan or blueprint of the flame wheel f550? ill be very grateful if u help me cause i'm having some problems finding one
HI, I'm about to attempt this same build and had a couple questions about your video: Which type of solder are you using and which temperature do you recommend the soldering iron to be? I have .7mm rosin core solder - should I put a little flux on the connections on the plate before soldering? What size heat shrink and braided sleeve are you using? Any advice would be helpful, thanks!
Will the DJI opto 30 amp ecs's work with other controllers or are they specifically designed for use with the naza? Thanks for the upload and greetings from Arizona.
From the handle I'd say he's using a noname soldering station, probably "BEST" or "BAKU" I have a Weller, but unless you find them used like I did, they're kind of absurdly priced. With lead free solder I use 300C on my machine, it melts at 250 but won't flow at that temp. Leaded solder is a lot easier to use, but toxic..
***** Just came across this video today...thank you very much for this. Why are placing the "wire mesh shield" over the ESC wires...for EMI protection? Where did you find this material? Thank you!
Hello, i want to build it too, but it's my first projekt like this. Can someone list all things that i need to do this? What did you thing, can i do this ( like i said it's my first projekt like this) (Sorry for my English, i live in germany) Thx
+!SeattleMan! Thank you for your very grown up response! I do actually speak the Queen's English coming from England and see that you obviously haven't quite grasped it yet! Thank you anyway! :-)
+!SeattleMan! Americans got their language from England (i.e. you actually speak English in case you hadn't realised.....) anyway, all that said you pronounce 'Solder' with the 'L' pronounced so it isn't, never was, never meant to be pronounced 'Sodder'. Just like you look at yourself in a 'Mirror' and not as you Americans say in a 'Merr'! AND also while we're at it, the most annoying mispronunciation you say, there's an 'S' on the end of 'Math' making the correct pronunciation 'Maths'. So please, when you beg, borrow or you steal something (like a language for instance), please have the decency to use it correctly. I eagerly await your childish, abusive comments as I know how you Yanks hate to be told anything and 'put right'. Thank you and 'have a nice day y'all' :)
We stopped speaking "The Queen's English" when we beat the shit out of your ancestors in the 1700's. Then to show there were no hard feelings we saved your tea drinking asses during WW2. In the event you ever grow a set again, we may revisit pronunciations.

Once you get it built, these quads can fly up into the clouds and beyond. Its crazy.
Wow, I do not post to many comments, but I wanted to say THANKS a bunch for all those that appreciated this video. I am really glad to see it has helped so many. Thanks a bunch guys, Take care, Patrick
Great video! You and Marionville Motors are the only two that make it as clear as day. Thanks!
Thanks for taking the time to make and share this video. Its guys like you that help so many others, like me who need the help. Thanks again.

Thank you so much! This video is one of the best step by step videos on youtube!
keep making videos like this brother really appriciated
Great vid! Educational. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely brilliant...so easy to understand.
Thanks

Great vid, just be aware that loctite embrittles plastic, so check the data sheet for the type of loctite used for compatibility with plastics.
Same questions as Claus about the power to the receiver. Does it get power from any of the inputs from the NAZA like A to Channel 1 or do the BAT pins need to be hooked to power from somewhere?
Same question too! Also what size is the heatshrink? I ordered some 32mm diameter but think that may be too big!
Thanks for the video! Excellent instruction... Great job. This helped me build a lot!
Great video, has helped me a lot to build one my one !

Cool video! Thanks
The Power comes from the Naza's BEC/LED. The BEC comes with the Naza. The BEC/LED plugs into the Naza through a servo port. Hope that helped.
Hi!! Nice video! I have an F550 with Naza V2 and my controller is WFLY 07 but I can make it fly.. Can you help me with the gains? Thanks
what solder station do you use? what temp are you set at?
What brand of electric driver are you using for assembly?
My kit did not come with the shrink tubing and wire wrap....you must have added that to your build, yes?
Thank you for this lesson... Very Very helpfull.

+Luis Estuardo Juárez Marroquín Friend of few millimeters is the diameter of the mesh guard?
I have that same question ?Were you able to find out?

Is that a 3s Or 4s battery setup? Do the LED's work on a 4s system? Do you stock the LEDs?
Hello, what is the maximum weight this hexacopter can lift? Thank You for answer!

is that a heli or airplane receiver?
For motor 3 cw and 3 ccw(2212 920 kv) required for f550 frame?
Will the DJI opto 30 amp ecs's work with other controllers or are they specifically designed for use with the naza? Thanks for the upload and greetings from Arizona.
Yes, they will.
The ESC wiring part was not clear, can you please elaborate? Thanks.
From the handle I'd say he's using a noname soldering station, probably "BEST" or "BAKU"

Surprised you didn't have at least one 'third hand' device to hold wires while you soldered. I rarely solder without 'em.
where do you buy flux?
thx
Hi friend!!!
what is this protection for the wires of ESCs ??? thank you!!!
Could you tell me how long time for making?
Could not find this item on the below site??
***** Just came across this video today...thank you very much for this. Why are placing the "wire mesh shield" over the ESC wires...for EMI protection? Where did you find this material? Thank you!
Silly question, but what is that Loctite gun you are using? Looks simple but I can't find one anywhere like that.
Steven Mack www.stanleysupplyservices.com/loctite-98414-50-ml-hand-pump/p/424-805
holy shit that little loctite gun is over a hundred bucks!!
Dang. And I might use it a couple of times a year. Oh well. Thanks for finding it!
i am looking for a used Camera and controllers for DJI F550 Hexacopter
Hey, could you please tell me the diameter of the mesh shield you used?
how much weight this drone can lift?
and which motors should i use if i want to lift 2-2.5 kg of weight ?
Yep, good video w/o leaving out anything
Where did you get your power drill from? I'm trying to find a good one but can't.
What is the top speed for a set-up like this?
Thanks
Spektrum DX8 is what you'll want.

thanks
Great video man..... Fuckin' Bigtoime actually..
How do you wire the sec's?

WHAT SIZE IS THE WIRE MESH?
