    I just got a GT-1000. I upgraded from the ME-80. I didn't even know about the Core until a week ago. I think I prefer the full unit because it has the foot pedal, and even though I don't use it much, I do from time to time. The whole point of getting the GT-1000 was to get around having to buy separate pedals, so I think it works for my purposes.

    I loved the gt 1000, but since it was $1000, I put myself on the waiting list for the fractal fm3. That was 6 months ago. As a result, I pre-ordered the core and should get it in a few weeks. I like the idea that the core can be part of a pedal board with my evh 5150 overdrive and other great pedals. It will be conveniently small for home recording. So basicallyx I agree with you again, and this is another great video. Thank you for the work that you put into these comparisons.

    I seriously believe the Core is "slightly" over priced and should retail at around $550 to $599 US. It's the Core or Pod Go for me. I'm completely torn ... undecided. I like that the Core can run parallel amp sims, but the pod Go has that extra foot switch and cool screen. By the time I'm able to make a decision a new modeller will come out to replace both of these. It's crazy these days!

    Thanks for the comparison. I had the GT-1000 in 2019 for a few months then traded it away. The main reason is that I did not like the high gain tones.
    My intent when I went back to the GT-1000 was to get a CORE and locate it on a pedal shelf in my small rack. I was going to use it in 4CM along with analog drive and other pedals. I intended to use a MIDI foot controller and a loop switcher such as the products from Morningstar FX.
    I ended up getting a trade deal on a full GT-1000. I am using an external overdrive located on my rack shelf via a MIDI controlled loop switch, the Disaster Area Designs DPC.micro. There are two more loops available so I may use other drive pedals at some point. The GT-1000 is controlling my AMT Electronics amp via MIDI.
    I am using two Boss FS-7 switches. One is used to offload the bank up/down. The other has two functions. The top switch engages the GT-1000 tuner and sends a MIDI CC to my amp to mute it. The bottom switch is my "solo" switch. It turns on the GT-1000 compressor, Sends a MIDI CC to my amp to toggle master volumes and sends another MIDI CC to my amp through a translating device to toggle between amp channels.
    On the GT-1000 the bottom row of switches select patches and the top row turn on/off individual effects within the patch.
    This setup is working well for me. But I still wonder whether I should switch to the core and use it in the effects loop along with a MIDI controller, loop switch and external pedals. But for now I will stick with what I have.

      @LeoGibsonGtr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion and experience!!! Well, If you are happy with the setup you have...I would stay with that. With the GT1000 you also have XLR out and bluetooth control..that could be pretty useful.

      I have used one Fractal product. I owned an FX8 MkII that I used in 4CM.
      Since those days I have gone to an all analog signal path. The Fractal was great but I still did not get along with the digital tone.

I magine it's a great way to discover new tones. I think the GT Core is better for home practice and recording you can have it on a desk rather than on the floor plus takes up less space. I like the idea if adding it to a few pedals and just having an expression pedal on the side.

    Well done! Like it! Was happy to see that you didn't count down the pro's and con's in the table since for me this would not make sense. But the table itself is great as a quick overview of the differences and similarities. As you said - the core maybe perfect for adding FX to a pedalboard, recording - or for bass players. I bought a HX stomp because of size and routing features and I think the Core is more or less the same concept. But I would love to have an GT-1000 Core or HX Stomp as an 9,5" unit to place in a small rack with my wireless receiver ... I know, racks are oldschool, but for bass with a small 9,5" rack ... that would be killer ;-)

Therefore I thing that the DSP of the GT 1000 is newer / better. Hi Leo! Fantastic video as always! I was wondering if the BOSS GT 1000 CORE's output is balanced trs or just unbalanced ts. Thanks!

      @LeoGibsonGtr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thank you so much!
      Unfortunately they are unbalanced. On the other hand the bigger GT 1000 has balanced out.
      Thank you for your question!

    I like my GT1000. In addition to its third-party IR resolution is too lower ,the IR resolution is not as good as the GE300. This is a bit disappointing. I really hope that it can greatly improve this problem.

    Hi Leo...great video!!just one question: is it possible to switch on/off more than one block effects with just one footswitch in the Boss GT1000 Core? something like the snapshot function on the helix for exemple.
    thankyou so much

    • @LeoGibsonGtr
      @LeoGibsonGtr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lorenzo, sorry for late answering.
      No as far as I know, in the GT 1000 there is not something like the snapshot function of the Helix. In the GT 1000 there is the Stompbox feature that simplifies using common effects settings in many different patches. Obviously if someone has better info than me, please drop us a message.
      Thank you for your message, and sorry once more for the delayed answer.

    Are the latency same with these two?

    • @LeoGibsonGtr
      @LeoGibsonGtr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't measure the latency of the GT1000 core, but I would assume it's same of the GT1000, having the same dsp and audio interface.
      Thank you for your question!

    This review was very useful. I do run into the situation where brining along my heavy pedal board plus one tube amps is not as practical and having something to go straight into the p.a. would suit me well. I also run into situations when traveling in which I want to bring my pedal board but I am uncertain on the amp that will be provided. Even though it is too expensive I lean a bit more towards the core because I could use it in a wider array of situations. It would give me a bit of piece of mind knowing that if that amp provided is not of my liking I can ask to go straight into the p.a.
    I am also a bit torn between the CORE and the Quad Cortex. By what I see due to its size the Quad would work better as a stand alone unit. I am not thrilled that they do not detail what effects it does include which considering the price of the unit. I have tried some of their pluggins, and there are several good ones. I do wish they had invested those with a stereo delay instead of just the ping pong option.
    As always, awesome video. Ciao

    Gt1000 core vs Hx stomp? I mean they are too similar even looking to not compare

    • @Stefan-
      @Stefan- 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The size and formfactor is very similar, Line6 and Boss have different philosophies on how things should work so some people prefer one or the other way. One big difference to note is that the GT-1000 Core is a full powered GT-1000 but in smaller format with a little less IO and switches and no expressionpedal and no bluetooth that can run the same patches as the big one. The HX Stomp is half the power of a Helix.

      Great comparison! Love the compact, lightweight, money saving design. Question. Does the dual input allow for 2 separate instruments, into 2 signal paths, out to 2 separate amps? Thanks for your videos :)

      Hi, I'm working about a video comparison between the core and the HX...yes the HX is less powerful than the regular Helix, while the core share the same DSP of the regular GT 1000.

    They could be releasing a more powerful GT, no? Since they've already shrunk it down with the core.
    Edit: I was also thinking of using the core with a Victory V4 pedal, either a Kraken or a Jack. That would be hot. 🔥👌

    • @LeoGibsonGtr
      @LeoGibsonGtr  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I was also expecting some new high level pedalboards both from boss and line 6, as their flagship pedalboards are quite old. Yes, I already did a video coupling the regular GT 1000 with the victory (th-cam.com/video/IVKXqh8X7dk/w-d-xo.html)...so coupling the GT 1000 core with the victory would be even cooler!!!
