@@gastonpossel imo boss is very good sound-wise, and gt1000 core has similar size to hx stomp but has the same number of blocks as the larger boss gt1000 with a foot pedal. if you don't mind the user interface (it is bi-colored), then gt1000 core is really good. I use the pc software to make patches and don't make much changes in the multifx.

I bought the GT-1000 last year and have to say I'm super happy with it. As a gigging musician it just works. One thing about the power supply connection, I would actually see this as a huge plus because I can run it off my 1-spot Power supply together with my wireless system.

All 3 sound great. Don't worry about which sounds thinner, or has more thump. Remember that these can all be tweaked with different mics, cabs, eq's and such. You want to listen to the characteristics of the sound. Do the notes die off naturally? What frequency does the distortion really hit? I loved the Boss and Helix. The headrush sounded great, but a little sterile. But another huge selling point is versatility and connectivity. In this category, the Helix is the Mac Daddy. Totally both the Helix and Boss were neck and neck back and forth depending on the sound

Currently I’m playing a GT100. Gets decent sounds but I’ve got the opportunity to purchase a newer and clearer sounding unit. There’s not much price difference between the GT1000 and the Helix LT in Australia but for me the UI and tones in the Helix sound best. The Boss has the best Marshall sound in this video but nothing that can’t be EQ’d a little with the Helix.
Great Video as always, you guys! 😎

For me, my Helix has become my main rig. I’m an absolute junkie for versatility and it ticks every single box for me. I own a Blackstar Series One which is great but when I need to go to a gig anywhere, I can never justify lugging a 2x12 combo when I can just chuck this in a bag with a couple of XLR cables and know I have every single base covered. Haven’t tried the boss or the headrush but from what I see here it is probably personal preference between them all. Anyone that thinks modellers aren’t the real deal need to stop living in the ‘00s and join the real world. Sure a vintage amp may be that 1 or 2% better, but no working musician can justify £1-2k per amp when you can just buy a modeller and have everything sorted. Audiences cannot tell the difference.

I've owned all 3 but only kept the Headrush, the amp sounds to my ear are better, Helix is better for routing and effects, Boss sounds great but I hated the interface, Headrush Reacts and sounds like a real amp, and above all is FUN to use, I get way more playing done with the Headrush, never stopped tweaking the Helix because I was never happy, gave up tweaking the Boss because I wasn't enjoying it. But as Dagan says, they're all good, just find the one you prefer. Don't let the price tag snobs cloud your choice..

@@craigohlgren6875 at the time. The Headrush has more volume hands down. I believe for the Helix to shine is to get a Seymour Duncan power stage and a unpowered cab or Maybe the line 6 powered cabinet. I want to get into the variax guitars, but the volume must be greater from the Helix. Programming is harder on the Helix. The GT1000 is the workhorse when your Space is limited and sounds good especially with the Boss Tone Library app which I can get sounds from Steve Lukather, Vai, Jack Thamarrat and others for free and the Acoustic sounds are cool when you need that sound......

Tbf, I have a vocoloco which you can pick up for around £400 which has phantom power, pre amp and eq which is built to transfer mic lines into instrument lines. Getting the headrush or the helix Lt and the voco loco would still be cheaper than the full spec helix. Just another pedal. But if you're planning on using the send I/I'd you'd have more pedals floating around anyway.

Just my 2 cents...I had a Headrush and loved the touch screen until I played outside. Here in sw Florida a LOT of the gigs we play are out in the sun or really bright areas. In the sunlight the front panel wasn't visible at all so switching presets and effects became a guessing game. I went to Helix and found that the display held up much better in bright areas. The sounds were in my opinion a little more believable. I've had the Helix for almost 2 years now and I have no intentions of switching to anything else. That being said I think all these units are good, it just depends on how you like the interface.

I heared some unwanted noise on the Helix line 6, HeadRush sounds Horible and are to big. The Boss 1000 is smaller in size but the sounds are not realy interesting. All three stil no cigar for me.

Owned a Helix and I also own a couple fender amps a Marshall JCM and a plexi and a vox AC-30. Found that, as evident here the models from the helix are all very thin and lacking low end. Sure you can add it in but model should be there out of the box. I just couldn’t get the tone out of it I was looking for and sold it. Thinking of trying a GT-1000. I like the tones it produces but that is yet to be seen live. I have also heard that the boss has less latency of all three which makes it feel more responsive too which is big

Really competitive features from all, but one thing that wasn't mentioned: The BOSS stuff is built like a tank. You don't have to worry about it getting broken at a bar gig. That's actually a really important point considering how expensive this stuff is.

You've heard the issues from POD XT HD products of Line 6 and well i guess it continues up to the Helix line. Now i am using Boss GT-1000 instead. and yes i owned ME-7 GT-100 and up until now it doesnt have any issues. Built like a tank indeed!

The Boss user interface is definitely the least user friendly, but I forced myself to learn it because everytime I switched to a Helix, I just never felt the tones were as close to the original pedals as the Boss is. Plus, the Boss has some features the others just don’t do as well for my needs. Such as the ability to use the chain split blocks to send different frequencies down different paths (ie, send low frequencies to one amp chain, and high frequencies to a different amp chain), or sending light attack picks down one chain, and heavy attack picks down a different chain. That’s super useful, and the GT1000 does it best in my opinion. Plus, almost every Boss pedal made is in the GT1000, and they sound amazing.
But I wish they would update their UI to be more user friendly like the Helix and Headrush are.

Own the GT and Helix. GT usually wins out for tone and feel and gets picked first. Helix comes into play only if I can't get the amp tone I'm looking for with the GT. Also GT switches patches very seamlessly. Also not a fan of the L6 attached expression pedal. Actually prefer the LT version expression pedal.

IMHO besides convenience and sound I believe the units are pitched towards quite clear audiences: Headrush probably best for non tech savvy and beginners, Boss aimed at guitarists who know what they want and don't really need exact replicas for modeling but good feel and vibes, as well as excellent fx complement for their existing amps, while Helix can potentially serve a whole band with its wealth of routing and customization options that go well beyond just guitar in focus.
So if you don't wanna get deep Headrush, if you're guitar-centric Boss, if you're band-centric Helix. Easy.

I've had the headrush, I've used the Helix, and I own the GT 1000 and GT 1000 core.
My opinion is the Headrush was easier to use the amps and mics UT there were waaaay too many options and you get lost in the settings. The pedal effects were moderately okay and the amp models weren't much better.
The Helix was good but I wasn't overly thrilled.
The GT is my absolute favorite! The effects are top notch and the amp models are simple and straight forward. I dont care that the pedal chain is predetermined but I can live with that.
