Arrowhead hunting TN - BIG RED! Found laying right on top of a pestle!

  • This video is a compilation of my finds over the past few weeks. It consists of some nice projectile points, blades, scrapers, and a nice pestle stuck right in a dirt wall. It was found directly underneath a massive benton point. Not sure if they were placed there together, or if it coincidentally happened, but as seen in the video the benton was found an inch or 2 directly above the pestle. They are both amazing pieces and the benton is one of my new favorites! Thanks for watching! If you will please like, subscribe, and share my channel!

      Thanks man! That red benton at the end was quite the surprise for me. It’s one of my favorite finds due to finding it strangely buried 1000’s of years ago on top of a pestle. It makes you wonder the story behind it. A spear point buried along side a food processing tool. It would be like finding a power drill buried next to a kitchen blender! Maybe as an offering in some way a husband and wife (modernly speaking) both buried / offered their prized tools for some ceremonial purpose? The reasons are endless! Thanks for taking the time to check it out and comment!

    Salut, My Friend.
    I must say; what an insane finish!
    ....this is another instance where the craziness is so apparent, well due to the context and the passage of long centuries, the work of Nature's weather, time traveling backwards retrospectively. Entombed until just then, two well crafted artifacts in place remained to emerge togetherfrom that depth of clay as cohorts, leaving as such, their relationship solidly intact. One; a brutal crushing grinder apt to perform the clumsy, dirty work, and the other; a work of art more capable the finer detail, exacting vengeance with keen edge! You should be thanked for always peering closer, examining the scene fully, holding emotions in check.... all unfolds before you!
    That rectangular knife tool, for me that was the winner.... crafted to fit the hand. I am not sure why ancient knives fascinate me so, but for the varied aspect of each flaked edge, tooled to suit the performance specific to a task!
    I pray you are well in health, sending good cheer and blessings to you and all yours!

    • @Points365
      @Points365  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you once again! The feeling of going back in time is ever present when finding artifacts in the spot they were left at so long ago. Why was it laid down there? Was it lost? Left behind in haste? So many questions with so many scenarios playing through your mind. It adds to the fascination and excitement of artifacts. Much like a well written book, with the ending left blank for you to interpret.
      As far as the square knife.. it has to be held to believe! I can’t help but to pick it up almost every time I walk by it. The way it perfectly fits in your hand, and again wondering what tasks had been done with it?! Thanks again and as always for your thoughtful responses!

      It’s strange how some areas seem to have a higher concentration of projectile points. It was obviously a necessity of life for the ancient people, and one would think that would be reflected in the artifacts found. Mid AL and mid TN aren’t that far apart really. You’d think it would be one and the same. Maybe they just enjoyed the seeming abundance of ticks and poison ivy we have up here! Haha

    AT 18:50 it seems there's a bright yellow PALEO DISASTER separation layer and it looks like flint chips may be coming out as well? Could be some more awesome stuff come out of that wall?

    • @Points365
      @Points365  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I’m not sure what that layer was? There was flint, ochre looking stuff, and ash in that layer. As well as above and below it. Not sure what made that particular layer so bright?! I found 2 more pieces out of that particular spot over the past couple weeks. One I believe was a big sandy. They will be in the next video!

    I would think that there are relatively tight clusters of arrowhead deposits out there...Animals tend to follow the same pattern according to the topography and flora so maybe over thousands of years of people hunting them from similar positions would deposit arrowheads in confined areas due to missed shots...I would also imagine that the people probably searched for arrowheads even thousands of years ago because it was easier than making them especially if you were a youngster.

    .WOW MY FRIEND, IT WAS A GREAT PLEASURE TO SEE ALL THESE FABULOUS FINDINGS. It is incredible how they were covered by the earth and then emerged. The Benton and the mortar must have accompanied each other for many years. They didn't put them on purpose because who was going to miss these beautiful things. For making destiny there they remained. Or sometimes they themselves buried their things so others wouldn't take them. On one occasion in a wall thirty meters from the sea water, I found embedded 2 arrowheads and a knife. They must have been two meters from the surface down and the erosion of rainwater and the sea were discovering them. Congratulations on these great finds my friend. Greetings and blessings.

    • @Points365

      Thank you once again buddy! It is incredible to see how the artifacts can be found sometimes, especially when you find them in a spot exactly where they were left behind. These 2 pieces were found about 6 meters below surface level as well. It’s crazy to think of how long it would take for that much soil to accumulate that deep. I bet that was an amazing day for you to find those 3 artifacts together like that! Thanks as always buddy!

      Thanks buddy! Yeah man it blows my mind to see how deep this stuff can be sometimes. There are some spots where you can see ash, flakes, etc. easily 15-20’ below surface level. To me that’s insane! Thanks as always buddy!
