- In this video, I find a lot of good stuff that... well, I don't really know for sure what it is. But it's good stuff! Not as good as the last two hunts, if we're purely talking numbers. However, there are still some great finds and a lot of variety. And a LOT of questions!
My mind is BOGGLING! I don't know what to think! The endless possibilities! 😂. I hope that big chunk is part of a mastodon tusk, that would be ultimate 🔥.
It sounds like a lot of people think it's not a tusk BUT probably is mega fauna bone
Great video Aaron. Glad you had some luck. Good luck on getting some answers. Of course if the Mastodon was butchered all the bone's containing marrow would be shattered and look like what you found. Very cool finds brother. Hope you're doing well my friend and Many blessings.
It sounds like it probably is going to be bone just like you're saying, Kevin. A lot of people agree. Can you imagine how much marrow would have come out of bones that size?!
@@meandmyshadow6269 I would be willing to bet there is an answer to that question Aaron. Off to Google I go. LOL
@@kevinkline6835 Bahahaha! Let me know what you find out going down that rabbit hole! 😂 🐇🕳️
@@meandmyshadow6269 I'm learning a lot but not what I want to. LOL
Cool points and ... Stuff, that min section, don't worry was probably just a Clovis 😮😅
Lol, right?! That'd be just my luck 😅
Mid section !!!! Damn it 😖
@@davelink1318 you're good! I knew whatcha meant!
That bone is brilliant, I think you got yourself something special there.
The bone/stone, definitely bone in my opinion. Really cool.
Thanks for the great video man 🤘🏼
Hey, thank you! I appreciate your feedback on that and I'm glad you liked the video!
Good video. Luck sure seems to have shined on you that day.
A very fortunate day, indeed. Thanks for watching!
Nice finds Aaron! I'd say that antler is definitely a tool handle of some sort
I think so too!
Really cool finds, Brother Aaron !!!
There's always treasures around there !!😎👊
Hope to see what your expert buddies have to say about some of those pieces !!!
😀👍
You and me both! I was suppose to bring that stuff to Donny lastnight but I had to rain check. Been pretty worn out from work lately
@@meandmyshadow6269
Yeah, I had a rough day yesterday at work...into it with the young boss man...What's wrong with some people 😕
@@historylooker7 I sure don't know. Seems like the world just keeps getting angrier and crazier. Hope you can find a good way to relax and get work off the mind for a bit. I'm fortunate enough to have some vacation coming up soon and I am probably just going to sit in the air conditioning for a whole week and just watch TV and eat junk food 😂
@@meandmyshadow6269
I heard that..I'm on vacation today..Gotta go back Monday...
I told the boss how I felt.....30 years under the same roof, and some young punk wants to treat me like a stepchild....lol 👍
@@historylooker7 Yeah, that sounds like some B.S. for sure. If a guy comes in younger and in a higher position he needs to be humble and recognize and give the respect due to the O.G.s
It's always cool to find different things 🎉😊
It really is!
Interesting day. As for the antler. I’m gonna say it’s an ancient artifact, just based on the fact I want it to be! Take care, can’t wait to hear back
My opinion is the same as yours! 😂 I sure hope it was. I'll post an update hopefully before next Thurs. Or I might put the update in next Thursday's video
Cool antler piece. Definitely a curious piece
I think so too! I'll post an update either before next week's video or IN next week's video
That was a cool piece of antler, could be a tool. The blade was suoer nice, hard to tell without holding it, but could have been made like that. Great saves brother.
Yeah, I'm still scratching my head on that blade. Thanks Michael!
Your title wasnt lying.. I have so many inquiries about them bone and antler pieces. I saw a diagram somewhere showing a pressure flaker that had bone on the top and under the tool edge so all the same time so when the user hinged the handle it would pop off a nice flake. Think about a duck’s mouth. Im not sure thats what you have but anything is a possibility. I like the tool handle idea a lot.
Very interesting... you might be onto something there actually. More for me to ponder now 😂
Thanks brotha!
Great finds
Thank you, Mike!
Nice piece, Amen brother
@@cj-ok5qu thank you!
Cool antler tool and they are not hollow. I have never seen one like it. That large piece of petrified bone looks to me to be part of a large skull👍🏻
It's new to me too. I've been playing around with it trying to imagine it's potential use(s). Sounds like most everyone agrees with you that it's bone and not tusk
That's an interesting handle, plus the cut out was on on purpose. Donny is the man on bone 4 sure.
I think it may have had multiple uses. Multi-purpose theory and reduction theory have really helped broaden the horizons of my imagination. Really helps you re-analyze everything
I think artifact ! I think the blade is broken! Unfortunately 😢 the big rock is very interesting. Great finds .
Thanks for your feedback!
I think antler is def something. It's been hollowed out. I've found lots and lots of pieces of antler even antler tools like billets and pressure flakers, I can't remember ever finding a hollow one.
P.S. That looks like megafauna bone, not tusk. I have some big chunks of tusk you can have to keep as a reference if you like.
I appreciate your feedback, man! It's extra helpful when someone local chimes in. Especially someone with your experience. Man, I would hate to take something from your personal collection - I really appreciate that generosity but I'd be just as happy just to handle some of the samples you have. That would be really cool
antler ain't hollow naturally, I'd say that's probably something. very cool.
Appreciate your feedback, Jake. See you guys in the morning! Let's find some more antler tools!
WITHOUT A DOUBT IT IS A SMALL MANGO. IT IS A CUT MADE ON PURPOSE. It must be a very resistant mother to last so many years. GREETINGS.
Thank you for your feedback, Coyote!
That point could be a Scottsbluff with a snapped off base because the material was chalky at the hafting area. A cortex is almost always darker than the material
It does have a little bit of a Scotty look to it. Thanks for watching!
The bone fragment is most likely from mammoth or mastodon.
A lot of people in the comments seem to be in agreement with you on that. I think it probably is too. Will post an update within the week. Thanks for your feedback!
Very cool Aaron! Have you figured out what that big chunker is?
Not officially, but many in the comments think it's mega fauna bone rather than tusk. Donny saw pics and he thinks, without having examined it in-person yet, that it's probably mastadone bone. Thanks for stopping by, Ontario! I'll post an update within the next week
@@meandmyshadow6269 sweet
Could it be a part of an atlatl . To help propel the shaft. There is so much we don't know.Peace
It's definitely something to consider. I appreciate you providing some feedback. I will post an update within the next week. And yes, I think one of my favorite parts about all of this is the mystery
The bone is not tusk, they have no puorosity, but its off a big animal 4 sure.
Thanks for that info, Leland! I wasn't sure about how the inside of tusk would compare to inside of bone. Bone makes more sense. I think if it were tusk it would have more curvature to the outside anyhow
Ima say Antler = Artifact! :-)
I think so too!
That's the thigh bone out of my KFC Big Box Meal that i tossed in the river. It did taste kind of funny?
Hahaha 😂
Deer antler is not naturally hollow.
Thank you for your help with that and thank you for watching too!
Looks like thumb scraper handle
Scraper handle is really what I'm leaning toward as well. Thanks for your feedback!
That looks like a piece of Petrified Wood; or A piece of Tusk. Heart Breaker 💔☹️ That's a Blade
Yeah, I really thought it could be petrified wood too but a lot of people are chiming in now and saying they think it's mega fauna bone. I'll post an update in the next week. Appreciate you!
Ok thanks please keep me updated much APPRECIATED 👍😃
@@sharonrowland1196 for sure!
THANK YOU!!! 👍😃
Hey, I just wanted to say, I went artifact hunting today! I found a broken knife, made with some killer flint! But that's not the reason I'm typing this comment. I thank God for every find I discover! It is a privilege to be able to do this, but it also shows the glory of the truth of God's word! So, next time you go artifact hunting, thank God for what you just found!
Amen! 🙏
I do believe your knife blade broke where a vein of cortex ran through the chert.
The other piece is indeed a bone. Tusks/ivory have a very distinctive look about the inside structure, and this doesn’t have that. Definitely a bone. I don’t know if distinguishing between mastodon, mammoth, or giant sloth would be possible.
Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Really appreciate your feedback on that. I really didn't know much about how tusk looked and you and a few others have helped steer me in the right direction on that now. Thanks!
Always good to praise and thank God for sure! I try to remember to do so as much as I can. Sometimes it's just not on camera. Thanks for watching!
@meandmyshadow6269 Sure thing! Thanks for spreading God's love!
