I give these officers credit, no drama, no cursing or unprofessional behaviour. Without hesitation, they ran to where the danger was, my hat is off to them.

The fact that you understand that about yourself proves you'd already be a better officer than many out there. These officers are clearly not in that category and those that have that level of self control have nothing but the utmost respect from myself and everyone I know.

Having been in the vicinity of a shooting once upon a time, I can tell you I'm going the opposite direction as fast as possible! For this officer to run toward the gunfire takes some cajones but I'm most impressed with his ability to correctly assess the situation in the midst of all the chaos. Bravo! To see the guns in such bad lighting and being able to reload with all the adrenaline that's flowing... All I can say is bravo! Much respect for this police officer!
It always amazes me how the police are so good at knowing so quickly who the shooter is, and where he's at, etc.

After the shot is fired, you have to see which one in the group was the shooter, and fairly quickly before they get away, or before they shoot you.

These LEO's are simply amazing individuals. They have to go from Zero to 50 one minute to adjust a young lady's attitude, back to zero, and a few minutes later 0-100 to stop a huge shootout. It's awe inspiring how professional and highly trained they are.

Yep, that was a lesson I was lucky to learn early in life. It will keep you out of trouble and give you time to enjoy hobbies buzzed, which depending on the hobby can be great fun, like playing music or video games or painting. Theres always an asshole at every bar/event where alcohol is present trying to prove themselves.

You even see the officers run up to the men with their hands up on the ground below the car shooting, thinking they are the offenders… luckily they missed. It’s weird, can you even defend yourself, everybody in the comments is applauding the police without even knowing how the altercation started. Why I practice avoidance more than anything after being in a few altercations myself.

It took some time for Columbus -- almost 90 minutes from me in rural Ohio -- to catch up to Atlanta, Cleveland, Houston, Oakland, Detroit & Chicago.

Impressive as hell for these officers to shift gears & respond so effectively. I puckered up a bunch at how these multiple parties of partially separated shooters were engaged, however, they attempted to issue orders when they had the chance & engaged the shooters as they came. It looked like solid work from these officers. Well done, gentlemen.
I remember when you'd go to a bar, get a drink or two, sit there, not talk to anyone, then go home. No fighting, no arguments, no bullshit!

This is a classic case of a cluster f¥(€.... From start to finish.. incredible patience and stamina exhibited by these Officers. Glad no officer was hurt during this complete nonsense.
I live in Columbus, Ohio, and I love our CPD. They are well trained, especially with the mental health crisis that's going on all over the country.
When I first saw this bodycam last summer I 100% thought there is no way this guy lives

They never fail to disappoint.
That was unquestionably one of the wildest police gunfights I’ve ever seen, and one of the best performances by the police. To be able to rapidly assess threats, address them, and transition to additional threats that way shows a high degree of mental preparation and resilience. Columbus PD seems to be a very well trained agency with a lot of switched on officers, despite the politics working against them.

Just a theory about why the police officers had shot at armed suspects at a relatively long distance: When an armed suspect knows he's being shot at he then has to maneuver about to keep from being hit. This, in turn, will throw off his aim when in shooting at other people.

This is actually the Short North Arts and Entertainment district. You literally can't rent a 1BR apartment in this area for under $2509 a month. I delivered pizza for Dominos at the Chicago Avenue store back in the 80's while going to college. That was the closest to downtown Columbus Dominos would deliver, and MAN that was some scary stuff, me coming from a rural area of Kentucky. Saw 3 drivers get beat, robbed and shot in the 6 months I worked there. I can only imagine how bad it is now.

Knowing "the community", I'm guessing she likely has. Probably more than a few times. Getting punched in the face over simple misunderstandings or petty bs is pretty common there.

I live very close to Columbus and i refused to go through their at night. One of my favorite gun stores is in a bad part of Columbus, you have to carry a gun to even go to the gun store. Its sad that this is an every day occurrence.

I’ve grown up in Columbus my whole life, spent many years in my twenties at these same exact bars on this street. I’m 31 now so it’s been about 8 years but…the crowd and “people” have changed it looks like.
27, went to OSU from 2016-2018. Looks like it's right by chumlees, that crowd is no longer college students, looks like downtown and the east side made it's way unto campus. Sad to see, some of my best memories were made in that same area.

I'm sure anyone with common sense either moved up to Dublin or one of the nicer suburbs. Such a shame too, cops were always solid outside of the clubs/bars. Hell NO! I would have pulled out and called in an Air Strike: Horrible people - but I have to commend these officers for showing up to work twice. And the OC spray method was an excellent choice but I would have delivered it via crop duster. All props to the officers
