The original police agency was not the arresting agency. He was transported by a suburban EMS and police department then Columbus OD was called hours later to inform Columbus that this perp was in the ER and come pick him up.
Finding a bullet on the guy wasn't something that made these officers go "Hmm, that's odd. Don't see a guy just carry those around for no reason. Probably has a gun but maybe not"??
This was at St. Anns Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. It's part of the Columbus metro area. When John first said it was Columbus, Ohio I assumed it would be Grant Hospital. Grant is smack dab downtown and they see ALLLLL the crazy stuff.
Right?! That shit was painfully slow! Even my 12-year-old who is just learning to fire pistols, said to me "wow! I don't think I've ever taken that long to clear a malfunction! Have I?" The answer was no honey, no you haven't.

That's a sad way for a man to die. His blood is on his own head for this.
I did not know that drive stunning didn't cause the lockup that happens when barbs are deployed. Thank you for this information
1. They allowed his hands to go where they shouldn't have before the felon committed.
2. They failed to secure control of him prior to beginning the search.
3. They should NOT have been fooling around with inspecting and bagging items as each one came from his pocket(s).
4. They should've been 100% business in talking to him, instead of the jokes about what they were finding.
5. They failed to gain leverage over him and his movement.
6. They should have NEVER allowed his hand to go down inside his pants when they found the gun in his groin.
7. And it just went downhill from there. These officers had angelic over-watch keeping them alive.
Imagine shit hits the fan and you can’t clear the malfunction
Great discussion and great analysis John and Mike! I will say again what I have told you in a previous video. You're incredibly smart, thorough and professional approach to this channel have helped educate me about guns, self protection and second amendment issues.
First off who missed the gun on the arresting pat down? Second, why wasn't the perp handcuffed prior to the pat down at the hospital?
It sounds like the cops barely figured out he has warrants when the video started
The original police agency was not the arresting agency. He was transported by a suburban EMS and police department then Columbus OD was called hours later to inform Columbus that this perp was in the ER and come pick him up.
My hands “are” up
Thank you for your great content.
Finding a bullet on the guy wasn't something that made these officers go "Hmm, that's odd. Don't see a guy just carry those around for no reason. Probably has a gun but maybe not"??
They were being sarcastic.
RIOTS HAPPENED? JESUS...
Yea notice how they only riot for bad guys
“Time to get a tv” they say
Praise the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen
He exchanged his gun with his life.
in situations like this, Cops should designate 1 person to shout commands lol
This was at St. Anns Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. It's part of the Columbus metro area.
I'm originally from Columbus Ohio and this area has turned into a shit hole more and more as Columbus has gotten more and more crowded.
When John first said it was Columbus, Ohio I assumed it would be Grant Hospital. Grant is smack dab downtown and they see ALLLLL the crazy stuff.
Both hands!
🤣
He still doesn't have his hands up to this day!
They're next to his hips underground.
🤣
Eject magazine, rack rack rack, tap rack, fire.
What a complete mess of a situation
He tried to eject the mag first, re watch it.
Right?! That shit was painfully slow! Even my 12-year-old who is just learning to fire pistols, said to me "wow! I don't think I've ever taken that long to clear a malfunction! Have I?" The answer was no honey, no you haven't.
While you are right, not all malfunctions are the same.
Ask me how I know. Or in other words, don't shoot matches with bad mags! LOL
U know he said I’m never using that mag again lol
He couldn't eject it. Magazine was stuck due to the malfunction.
There is a good example on Police Activity's channel of a female officer clearing a malfunction in the heat of the moment
I bet it wasn’t the one at 20:42 !
ONCE AGAIN the TASER offered no help and arguably made the situation worse. I mentioned this on a recent app Q and A and John agreed. John should start explicitly calling out how unhelpful the TASER is. They need to by cycled out.
Yep, it made him react even worse after being shocked. No help at all
How expensive would a hand held metal detector be for officers to check for weapons on the person? Also, maybe they could consider making the guy strip down in a room and put a gown on.
My hands is up! lol Even school didn't help the perp!
For some reason, every time I like one of your videos, I have to click the like button 3 times for it to take.
Put your right hand up 😭🗣️🔥🤣 DONT DO IT 🗣️🤣🧐💀
Working hospital security right now crazy how often shit like this happens at the hospitals
LMFAO THE OFFICER PULLING THE NURSE AWAY 8:38 😂
I saw the video 3 years ago
Another soul that entered into eternity. It’s actually very sad. I know he put himself in that situation but it’s very sad
I honestly don't understand if they're so stupid. They think they can actually draw from the drop in these situations and get away... Or if it's just suicide by cop cuz they're not going back... Either way stupidity and I don't understand it
I'm glad y'all finally covered this one. It sounded like a goat rodeo in the news back when it happened.
8:40
😷 That men need CPR !!!
👮 not today sir not today !!
😂
Not sure what the dude was thinking he seems like he wanted to* go home* after the gun was discovered. He immediately fired a shot at the one cop. It's like dude, you're shooting at a cop in s hospital, it's not gonna end well.
One of the most hectic examples of police/security trying to stop a criminal with a gun.
Yes.
I am not an officer but watching this, seeing all the officers under trained and confident with how yall explain….whaaoo this scares me.
lots of pucker factor in that one.
Cops frantic. Perp composed. What's wrong with this picture?
I've seen this all too often. You sign up for the job knowing a firearm is part of your uniform and your whole career is spent ignoring your training. Ever year it was the same people that failed to qualify for marksmanship and or proficiency. They never inspected their ammo, the never cleaned or lubricated their firearm, never checked their duty gear (cuffs, OC, ASP, PPE etc). Complacency kills officers just as much as anything else.
Why and how was he able to get a gun into the ER...in custody.... somebody messed up really badly
Saw this a while ago but with quality analysis. Ty team, great lessons, tough ones too but absolutely necessary
