Coupled with the stupidity of the idiots who are screaming out different commands, instead of having 1 gang member with a badge yell out commands in a rational manner. But I have noticed almost every single cop in a unit wants to be the main character lol
If a cop is pointing a gun at me telling me to put my hands on the hood and put my hands up, imma find a way to do both those things. It Isn’t the cops fault he moved both his hands in the worst direction.
I think the guy was going to pull his pants up again, probably a habit, then thought better and put his hands out then got shot. Whether that dumb or wrong to do will be up to a judge or jury.
One officer telling him to keep his hands on the hood and another telling him to get on his knees ultimately led to confusion by both the suspect and LEO. It does appear like he was looking for an opportunity to draw. But once he was told to get on his knees it looks like he was complying.
If you know you have a gun and the police know you have a gun, do not put your hands down to your waist no matter what, he was poking and prodding for an oppertunity and these officers were not going to allow him that oppertunity. It is not that hard to keep your hands away from your waist no matter what command you are receiving.
Keep your hands up Keep your hands on the hood Keep your hands in your pocket (yes he said that at around 2:10) Keep your hands on the hood again I am not defending the suspect, but the cops should make up their minds and give clear instructions. What a beautiful etymological explanation of the suspects emotions. Indignation lead to a "malicious" compliant attitude which in this circumstance was interpreted as Suicide-by-Cop nihilism. Human beings are fascinating man.
I noticed the suspect was pulling up his loose fitting pants while walking over to the police car. There's a real possibility that he was reflexively trying to pull up his pants while attempting to get on his knees. After the second cop gave the contradictory command to "get on your knees," it looks like the suspect caught himself trying to pull up his pants and then attempted to pull his hands up and away from his pocket area all within a split second, but by then it was too late. Also did anyone notice that after the cop said "separate your feet," he then said "keep your hands IN your pocket."
Non compliance, ignorance and stupidity at the highest level intersected with no nonsense absolute instant use of force.....great job for these officers!!

I agree man didn’t make an aggressive movement towards that firearm, I do not think the cops should get charged they thought he was reaching but the video clearly shows man just putting his arms down to get down after they told him, he didn’t reach plain and simple
He can make the case that he was trying to get on his knees. You can clearly hear the other cop tell him to get on his knees. At the same time when the cop wasn’t telling him to get on his knees, he wasn’t following the “keep your hands on the hood” command” However, after he got shot, he was able to utter the words “I was just trying to get on my knees” This is a 70/30 chance that he’s gonna win even though the defense will do a good job to make the jury hate him for things that he did before.
You do not need to put your hands right where the gun is when you are kneeling though. That's what got him shot. If he kept his hands in the air or even on the hood he would have been fine.

Hands raised above head and slowly lower yourself down one knee at a time.

Ya im going to say the officers messed this up. When i was a kid we got pulled over because we fit the description of 4 guys that had just assaulted a police officer in my neighborhood and we were going out for the night. Officers drew their guns and had us get out of the car. My friend who was driving was repeatedly told to put his hands on the hood. We were still INSIDE the vehicle. He didn't know what to do and kept moving his hands around trying to figure out what to do. I can see a lawsuit from this one.
Conflicting verbal commands, coupled with telling him to "keep his hands on the hood" multiple times and at the same time to get down on your knees" led to this perp being very confused and filled in with led. I think his hand movements near his gun made the officers very nervous, understandably, but they might've shot him prematurely without seeing a clear, deadly threat picture.
He never reached for the gun! I side with the cops almost every time but this time they were wrong for pulling the trigger. They said get down in your knees in which he responded by simply taking a step back with his hands away from his body and the just started filling him in for nothing. Fucking ridiculous
Even tho buddy could keep his damn hands on the hood imo buddy went to get down and got shot. His arms went to his side he made no real move for the gun. No one grabs a gun like that do they ? Imo was shot for no reason cops were tigger happy and couldn’t wait for him to actually grip his waistband.
I got to say terrible, emotional fitness. His hand wasn’t even in the pocket. They already had him outgunned and had the draw on him they could’ve avoided killing this man imo.
Really really bad police work here. The suspect is being noncompliant and needs to be handled but two or more cops screaming commands definitely didn’t help.
So many commands by the officers. He was instructed to go on its knees. The Police Cannot deny the instruction commanded loud and clear regardless of what's in his pocket.

Would you, in that same situation let your hands get within 2 feet of your pocket?
For the sake of argument, let's just say he was genuinely attempting to place his hands on his waist, but his hands are clearly visible. His gun is inside his shirt, and putting his hands on his waist where they are clearly visible doesn't pose any threat.
What a beautiful etymological explanation of the suspects emotions. Indignation lead to a "malicious" compliant attitude which in this circumstance was interpreted as Suicide-by-Cop nihilism. Human beings are fascinating man.
Why some people are so dumb? 😭😭

Did the other cop say "get on your knee"?
He sure did. Get on your knee, he takes his hands off the car at that very moment and got shot.

However, after he got shot, he was able to utter the words “I was just trying to get on my knees”

Officers drew their guns and had us get out of the car. My friend who was driving was repeatedly told to put his hands on the hood. We were still INSIDE the vehicle. Conflicting verbal commands, coupled with telling him to "keep his hands on the hood" multiple times and at the same time to get down on your knees" led to this perp being very confused and filled in with led.
