Great review, Nick! And I agree, this is the best budget radio right now. With those Hall sensors and all features at this price point, there is nothing better.
I went from a T-Lite to the Zorro and love it. I have seen a couple videos of people installing the AG01 mini gimbals in the T-Lite. Requires modification to the pinout order on the plugs.
Hey Nick, I took the gimbals out of my Zorro and put them in my T Lite and now I have the best of both worlds. Great gimbals and smaller form factor and better battery life. If you have the time there is a video on youtube showing the pinout and only requires a little soldering and it can be done! I took the tension bar off of the pitch/roll gimbal as its not needed and was binding up the gimbal after reassembly. Also to make the throttle stick loosen you have to put a 1.6mm screw with a washer in the hole to lock in the tension release tab. I used a leftover screw from a caddx vista that I had decased and worked perfect. Lots of people would benefit from a radio like this. I'm absolutely loving it!!! Oh also the switches from the zorro can just drop in with no rewiring just figuring out orientation of high/low, Super easy. Hope you have time to try this! Love your channel by the way, This is my first comment on any of your videos but i've watched a BUNCH so far, Even the older ones, even if the quads aren't available anymore! Hope I helped in some way!
That is great. I have been told its possible and not a terrible project either. I hope jumper is paying attention, they are missing out by not just selling high quality gimbals for their own radios. Thanks for reminding me to dive into this project. Good winter time project for sure.
i still need a remote sadly. im getting there on saving for a new one sadly while everything around us keeps climbing in price so do my medical bills. but one day ill be flying again in the mean time i enjoy watching you fly Nick. thanks for sharing Nick
I was waiting for this review, I have already ordered it. However the Radiomaster AG01 mini gimbals can be installed in the Jumper T-lite. There are a couple of videos on youtube, Heads did too.
@@NickBurnsFPV I actually ordered the V2 to install the mini ag01 gimbals in it. Here's a video that shows you how to install them. th-cam.com/video/wslSmuW3DDI/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for this info, , i'll get the ag01 :) . .. the matte coating at the top of my radio is peeling off at some spots where my fingers rub the most. . doesn't bother me though.
AGO1 mini goes in the T lite but not as Plug n play. Might be a touch tricky for people new to the hobby. If a soldering iron isn't in the skillset, best to go with a radio master zorro or TX12, where the AGO1s simply need to be screwed into place, plugged in and calibrated.👍🏻
i love that you promote infinity loops, i swear they should have more followers! AND i have jumper t pro but honestly just thinking on taking t lite now... and your truth, i wanna see if jumper will release some high end gimbals.
They are great flyers and good all around people. Getting attention in the fpv space is hard and takes so much time. I think this is my 6th year making vids 😁. Thankfully I enjoy it so it’s been 6 easy and fun years 💯
Did you remove the sticker on the rear? If not......notice the difference. Also this version does have reverse polarity protection The Ago1 gimbles fit but I don't think the red black yellow wire are in same order. The light in the center can be removed and a 3d printed (clear) neck strap loop can be added. Also the T-lite uses less power than the zorro and therfore has much better run times. (See madstech)
I noticed with the original T-Lite that the later batches had that slightly lighter colour and that different power LED housing that you noticed with this one. The AG01 minis also do seem to have the same mounting pattern as the T-Lite's gimbals so maybe they could work together? If not some metal gimbals from Jumper would indeed be pretty good 🤔Well done with the video as always 🙌
Pretty dope... I agree about making some metal gimbals. I have an original Jumper T lite that I run my 2 oldest quads on but... I prefer my radio master TX12 because of the tuned AGO1 minis that are installed. Nothing beats a good CNC metal gimbal when it's dialed in right. Jumper needs to get on that train and then they'll really have a competitor. My TX12 plus the AGO1 minis combined was my $200 solution to getting the performance of a radio that costs double that. If Jumper did some metal gimbals with the T lite's current price point being what it is, somebody could end up with a high performance yet budget friendly entry level radio for around $170-$180. It'd give radio master a run for it's money for sure and would put alot more of these Jumper T lite V2s into not only entry level pilots hands but more serious pilots as well.
Hi i sorry but i had a question to ask have you experience drone sputter on this thing because i replaced the board and it still sputter when not level so i was thinking it was something to do with beta flight but i have seen no settings when it on a flatsurface one or 2 motor sputter and when it stables it will be able to fly i know it not the board because i replaced it already so i came here to see if you had an idea what it could be i was thinking it was the jumper t lite controller but i really just dont know i also know it not the motor because they all sputter differently
I am not sure of the symptom you describe. I don't think this question involves the radio though. Does this sputter mean the props don't spin? Or that throttle doesn't work? Or you aren't able to arm the quad to spin the props at all? Need more detail.
Thanks for another great review Nick. But, I'll never buy Jumper again! Bought the V1 and it died while charging it the 2nd time - never got to fly with it... After months of contacting Jumper they did not honor their warranty or offer any help/support. Radiomaster Zorro for me!
@@NickBurnsFPV we had fun at the center because of you. I wish i could have recorded something ,but the policy doesn't allow it. Don't worry too much about it, i will be picking a new controller and a ext module also next month or so. For now i put a D8 non inverted in the two to fly.
1 big issue with the t-lite is a no power up issue, I recently had it happen as well. There's a watch battery inside and under the receiver board that's looses contact somehow, give it a spin and your back online. Very annoying! Also the slightest dust in the gimbal makes it very scratchy but easy enough to pull apart and clean. Recal gimbals is sometimes a pain though.
the watch battery issue is pretty constant across radios and brands. Although the issue you describe is pretty unique. maybe a slight bend of either the side metal contacts or the bottom will help it make better contact??? just a thought
Hello! Do you know if it's possible to put the original jumper t lite 4 in 1 module into the elrs V2 version? I ended up purchasing the V2 elrs thinking that's how I would start my quad venture then ended up being hand me downed a couple of D8 drones...lol I'm still to green to know how to work on quads but I can do a simple module swap on a radio IF it's possible to go from V1 4 in 1 module into V2...
While I haven't done it, the internal module form factor is pretty much the same as all of them. We should be able to remove one and plug the other in. they are pinned and use a single connector, no soldering needed to replace them.
@@NickBurnsFPV I appreciate the reply. I've theorized the same myself...at most I may have to update the firmware on the module itself which would be no different than any basic update. I'm going to pick up the jp4in1 module from a parts supplier as it around $40... around half the price of the radio.
Having got the T-Pro because the V1 was no longer available, I really wanted metal switches coming from a BetaFPV Cetus Pro kit and 18650's (I vape therefore I have loads of these). The Zoro looks sooo good though (Dang stubby batteries, remember stubby beer bottles?). My radio didn't come with an SD card and had OpenTX on it but to be honest I love this one for my FrSky mini/micro's. The T-Pro is great for ELRS/Crossfire and a backup JP4in1. @@NickBurnsFPV Not too much, it’s actually surprisingly easy, you should try it and maybe do a video about it! Maybe that’s enough attention and Jumper starts to produce their own all metal CNC gimbals
@@NickBurnsFPV the mounting pattern and gimbals are the same, the only difference is the shared ground of the hall sensors on the jumper compared to individual grounds on the RadioMaster, super easy to change. I put the AG01 minis in my t-lite when they first came out, because I was aware of the similarities. I use the Zorro on my porch and pack the t-lite. @@NickBurnsFPV there is a video on youtube its a bit of soldering, doesnt seem too complicated but still need to remove the silicon fillers and resolder the contacts
hmm. That is tough. I think for most it will likely be the t-lite as the run time is longer than the zorro. It would be the zorro if the run time isn't an issue but the elrs wm is, as the zorro will run up to 250mw, the jumper only 100mw.
