      I need an answer! Where is the best/safest place to buy this radio? I would get it on Amazon but its extremely overpriced! ($130)

      @@DarrenAllattthanks, I was hoping there was a more trustworthy site, but if that is the most trustworthy, I guess I'll take the risk. It'll be my first fpv radio

    Its so awesome seeing more options for budget radios. The hobby needs cheaper options to attract more people

    So good to hear that one of the only problem of this radio is the ergonomics for a certain group of people.

    This is my daily driver now over my tx16s. I've modded it to run a HappyModel ELRS module at 1 watt. Honestly don't need 1 watt but it's cool to have it available.

    I used to use the Jumper T-lite as my daily driver until I got the Zorro. I still use my T-Lite as I have a couple of older whoops with ELRS that are still connected to it. Makes for a perfect "drop in a backpack and go" controller.
    I thumb, so my fingers don't get in the way of the switches. Even still, it's difficult to rest my index finger between the switches, there isn't much room up there. I solved it by defaulting the 3 position switches to up (ie pulled toward you) while the bottom 2 position switches defaulted to down. This allowed enough room to safely rest my fingers without accidently triggering any switch.
    For under $90 in today's world of prices it's a steal. If someone wants a more expensive gamepad I'll direct them to the Zorro. If they are just curious about FPV and don't know if they'll like it or not, it's perfect. For $100 they can get a radio that can be used for sims and pretty much a sim of their choice with the leftover. I recommend that to everyone who is interested but not sure it's for them. The benefit is it can be a stepping stone to larger things since it isn't a slouch of a radio and they fixed the power problem.

      Same. I’d still recommend Zorro for a bit more unless they have donald trump hands

      I just got the v2 of this radio and experienced the same thing with the ergonomics. I'm thinking of doing the exact same thing with the switches as well.

    I like "gamepad" style transmitters as well, and I also pinch. I raise the stick height, I also use a lanyard, and I find it works well for me.

      @@DarrenAllatt I had to laugh a few times as my big hands are even in the way on the DJI brick controller.
      I 3D printed a knob cover to make it feel a bit more ergonomic.

    I removed the front shoulder switch on my Jumper T16 for the same reason but kept the rear one because it's my arm switch. I can rest my middle finger under it and easily disarm in an instant.

    It's not realy true that ExpressLRS requires 2 position switch for arming. From ELRS faq: You can still use a 3-position switch to arm! AUX1 just needs to be 2-position, not the physical switch. Simply adjust the mixer in your transmitter so AUX1 works like an on-off switch. If your 3-position arm switch had a second function as well, such as enabling Blackbox, just use one of the other 7 AUX channels to send the switch on a second channel.

    • @DarrenAllatt
      @DarrenAllatt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not quite. Ch5/Aux1 is only broadcast as Off/On and it doesn’t send the full resolution of the channel as it’s sent in every packet, while the other channels are sent in every other packet.
      Using a 3 position switch for arming, you lose functionality of 1 position on the switch.
      So while you can, you shouldn’t and you are best to use a 2 position switch.

    • @Zandorsp
      @Zandorsp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DarrenAllatt you can transmit 2 channels from the same switch. For example, AUX1 = logic switch L01 to see if switch A is on mid or up for arm. AUX2 = switch A for another functions like Blackbox or angle mode

    I’m new to this. please can I use jumper tx module with my jumper t lite v2 jp4-in-1 transmitter and still work as multi protocol?
    I wanna confirm this before I get jumper tx module order placed on AliExpress 🙏🙏🙏

    • @DarrenAllatt
      @DarrenAllatt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Which Jumper TX Module?
      You can get any ExpressLRS Nano Transmitter module and it will work, you will need to set up a new module with internal tx turned off and external tx turned on
      Then when you switch to another model that is using the 4in1 it will work

    • @DarrenAllatt
      @DarrenAllatt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@norbert9852 you will need an external Nano Transmitter and then yes you can, but you are limited to a max of 100mw (maybe 200mw at best) on the external tx due to the 1 cell battery

    I don't have this radio, but have heard that the "unforgiving-reverse-polarity-battery-problem" is a problem.

    • @DarrenAllatt
      @DarrenAllatt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you plug your battery in wrong, it fries the circuit as it has no reverse polarity protection. With USB charging, there is no reason to remove your battery once it’s in.
