If you're installing PS3 games via pkg/rap and they show in RPCS3, right click the game, create desktop shortcut. Copy that shortcut to the PS3 roms folder. Now you'll see it in EmulationStation.
What if RPCS3 isn't showing up in EmulationStation? The folder is in the emulators folder but not being recognized. I downloaded the executable and it's resources and added it to the RPCS3 folder but nothing.

3.50 a month for all this isn’t bad. Just a little over a dime per day. I’m sure it’s month to month because it may soon be free. Say if you paid a one time fee of $30 or $40…even 20. Then this became free next month. I’m sure some people would be upset about that. Not saying that will happen but I’m sure this will become free within the next year. That rounds out to about $40 for the year if it even takes that long for them to be able to make it available for free. Not too bad.

Oh man this was really helpful! I bumbled thru most of the installation but I learned a few tricks from you! Totally missed the hot keys section. That was the kinda stuff I was a bit hung up on and that will be a game changer! Not being able to use save states in dolphin was killing me!
What do the specific builds do over the generic “Windows handled” build? For instance when you select the ROG Ally build how is that different to using the generic “windows handheld”. Is there any word of other builds coming? Perhaps one for the Legion Go?
Ok, issue I am running into is when choosing a location to install emudeck, it does not recongise my SD card as an option. I have a GPD win 4 running windows 11, do I have to reformat it somehow? I am unclear as I have all my ROMs on the SD card and Emu deck recongises their file locations to run them, but won't let me install Emudeck on the SD card. HELP! 😅

Great guide! Any idea what I need to do to enable controls in emudeck/duckstation? They're stuck on the steam big picture controls. Tried turning gamepad controller setting on/off, and tried with steam in desktop mode, and also with steam closed and going directly through emulation station.
That's weird, mine has gotten stuck on desktop controls sometimes, but gamepad usually works. Pop into the EmuDeck Discord, and create an issue, see if Dragoon can get it squared away.

@@GeneralX-s3m Exactly the same thing. Nothing wrong with multiple alternatives tough. I personally prefer retrobat over emudeck for silly reasons (it supports more systems, like sega model 2 and model 3)
Installed it and have it configured fine thanks to this guide! I have a question though: I cannot get the emulators to show in Amoury Crate. When I look for the files, I notice that the launchers are all .bat files and not .exe files. Is this something different with the version I have (ver 2.1.18) than compared to the version in this walkthrough?
Just looking in the wrong folder, think they moved it, used to be in the C drive, now it's wherever you selected the drive. If you open the bat, you can see where it's pointing to and that'll get you to the actual exe directory.
I have Dolphin running on ASUS ROG Ally but I can’t calibrate my right stick as the C-Stick for GameCube. It doesn’t recognize it. Any ideas on how ti fix/map that? Does it require changing anything in the ASUS button mapping?

Hi there, got a question. Using the ROG Ally in Docked Mode using the Charger Dock and playing with a Bluetooth Controller instead of the Embedded Controller in the unit itself. I can scroll and navigate in EmuStation just fine using the Bluetooth Controller, but when running an actual game, none of my inputs from the Bluetooth Controller are read. Just the Embedded Controller. Any idea of what's happening here, or any setting I didn't enable? I'm essentially trying to treat this as a Nintendo Switch + Pro Controller running in Docked Mode.
Nope, same steps. Downloaded xemu, put it in the folder with the rest of the emulators, put the roms in the xbox folder where they go and all worked just fine.

Yep sorry I'll make that more clear to new people in the future - Roms and BIOS are a touchy subject due to legality. I can't tell you how to get them or where, but I can show you where to put them basically. But yeah, all your BIOS files go in the BIOS folder. All your Roms for whichever system go directly in that systems folder.
Hey man. I downloaded emudeck i go to open it. Steam and 7zip have a green checkmark. Git has a red x. Tells me to restart emudeck but nothing new happens, keeps saying the same thing. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it 10 times. Any ideas?

Hey where did you put the roms? I have them in a flash drive. Am I supposed to be a usb to usb c drive to have that in the ally or do I buy a usb to SIM card reader and put the games in a micro sd then plug that in the ally with the games?

hey thanks for putting this together...Do you know how to work around this with the Ally...basically when in a game and needing to press the B button...it dosnt work and im prompted with "press b again to quit" - so i cannot continue the game at all and i end up quitting

Not sure why that's happening and no you should always be in Gamepad mode. Might want to jump into the EmuDeck Discord, Windows channel as it might be a bug.
I was keeping up, all the way till the BIOS files, I see the bios folder with Ryujinx & Yuzu but can’t find the BIOS files that I need to move. I downloaded 2.1.15, maybe that’s the difference but this is a real bummer

Prime uses Launchbox almost exclusively and has made an Ally video with it is probably why

Looks like I needed to enable xinput source in duckstation settings, got it working now!

Shouldn't have to bind anything after the fact, they should all be binded already.

Shouldn't be folders, for PS3 it's pkg and rap files that you install to rpcs3. Not sure what the folders you have are.

Make sure you have Steam installed and you're logged into Steam.

May want to check their discord, but usually git pops up in another window for you to do things with.

Are you in gamepad mode? And you launched via steam? If you are, I'd jump into the Emudeck discord and check with them, if you're having any bugs.

Have not seen that, have you tried a restart? If so, maybe a reinstall of emudeck might work.

Yep cause you added them manually. You can add it as a non steam game if you want.
