Ok but how does this all translate for battery life? As an avid Nintendo switch user I was more than excited to get this to play my pc games on the go. But after a few days with it I feel like the battery life just isn’t cutting it. I’ve watched a bunch of other videos with tips and tricks but none such as in detail as this debloating. @@WinDeckTech thanks for the very honest answer. I feel like I got swept up in the hype of this device then. For me I’d rather just play my Nintendo switch for 4-5 hours than to play 1 hour of metal gear. Maybe in the future these will be more worth buying for the portable gamer but for now I might just return mine.
@@l3ouffhard I totally understand that. The only way you could squeeze out that much battery life is obviously, if the game allows it. Play with tdp settings. You can also consider game streaming services such as GeForce now and boosteroid.

Ensuring you have the most upto date drivers should help with that. Disabling core isolation and vmp are the best possible moves those for perf increase
Yes, you can clone the SSD, however I have found this to be a little messy, especially if it has been in use for a while. If it is a fresh drive to fresh drive, go for it.
@@WinDeckTech just got my ROG Ally and installing a few games till i get back and install the new drive. Idm reinstalling just want to make sure it still works properly
Generally speaking, how actually risky is it to disable memory integrity? If you don't do much web browsing with this thing it seems like it might be OK, but with no third-party anti-virus software, how vulnerable does disabling memory integrity actually leave the device?
Keep in mind I am NOT an IT security expert. To my loose knowledge, core isolation removes the system processes from the OS and puts them in a virtualized system. Thus, any malware attacks should not have access to the system. In my experience, even with being very, very liberal with what I do on the internet on my devices, with core isolation off I've not been a victim of any such attacks. That's not to say it can't happen, but the biggest defence against these things is good old fashioned common sense. If it looks fishy it probably is. I have only ever run Microsoft Defender since, Windows 8 I believe. It has very robust features and detection in my opinion. As well, with it being integrated into the OS unlike, Norton or Avast or John "legend" McAfee it will not bring the same system wide performance degradation As well, it has internet security features. It will (annoyingly to me) warn me about uncommon file types before initiating the download. This gives you a great frontline IMO. In the end, it's up to you. Analyze the risks and benefits. If you feel you aren't out there downloading more RAM, or Season 2 of Firefly. You should be alright. I will never say "will", again though I've been doing it for quite some time with no issues. Edit my recommendation (and my personal solution) is to buy a small form factor PC. Put Linux on it and run it as a Plex Media/rom/ill intent browser. Run a VPN on it 24/7 downloading or not.
I have had very good success with tapping the little window that pops up before it launches. That seems to work every time for me! If you can try it and still refund on steam if it works for you. Worth a try!

Sorry you are having difficulty with this. Did you happen to have a restore point to test out? Game pass games are a pain sometimes to install there are some console commands you can use to force reinstall the Xbox stuff. I've had issues with it even without debloat

The AMD software that shows system, graphics, display etc. and I’m referring to what settings you might have. Like having Radeon super res on vs off, anti lag, sharpness etc. I don’t know if having these on or off at all causes a strain on system performance
Yes you referred to it as AMD control.
@@JSiB1 go to gaming - global graphics - Radeon anti lag on everything else off. Unless you want ris (Radeon image sharpening) on. But you can toggle this with command center
While still in amd* go to the settings cog, preferences, in game overlay enabled, web browser disabled advertisements off toast notifications on.
Then if you go into performance under the settings menu, you can turn on in game overlay with a bit more info than the Asus one

You are amazing
How long does it take for the CTT debloat to finish? Mine seems to be stuck for 30 minutes now.
It shouldn't take that long. If you are having problems try closing it down and running as adim
Hey am I able to somehow still redeem the xbox 1-month pass without any tricks up the sleeve?
Excellent video, but at some points you were narrating a bit too fast for a step to step guide, changing playback speed to 0,75 helped with this.
Sorry about that, I always find I talk slowly in longer format videos so subconsciously I try to keep a better cadence. I suppose I went too far though.
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it a lot.
After doing this, I’m running into an issue with Xbox cloud gaming. every time I try to start a cloud game it just crashes. I get black screen and the game crashes.
Run the xbox repair tool I believe it's in the settings of the Xbox app
Your metrics overlay shows vram util, mine doesnt have any vram stuff, how do i get vram info added?
Aida 64, hwinfo or MSI after burner with rtss
Ok but how does this all translate for battery life? As an avid Nintendo switch user I was more than excited to get this to play my pc games on the go. But after a few days with it I feel like the battery life just isn’t cutting it. I’ve watched a bunch of other videos with tips and tricks but none such as in detail as this debloating. Before I go through all this can you let me know how battery life improved?
Tbh it won't increase your battery life by a lot.
But every bit helps.
This will increase your performance and general snappiness of windows.
You can also consider game streaming services such as GeForce now and boosteroid.
dude just buy a portable battery
You don't need to type out a huge fake email and password to bypass windows account login. Any random gibberish works. I just hit 'a' for account and 'a' for password and it tells me there's been an error and let's me through to create a local account.
Thanks for the info!!
Didn't work for me. I still had about 5 up to 6 ygB ram running and recovery point wasn't capable any more to use
hey i follow the guide on this video and now my asus armory crate SE isnt working properly now. any fix?
Is it not working at all?
You can redownload it from the Asus driver site found here:rog.asus.com/gaming-handhelds/rog-ally/rog-ally-2023/helpdesk_download/
Under software and utility. Hope that helps, if not do a system restore point to before the changes.
nice screwdriver :D
If you check out my recent vid I'll be giving away an LTT Screwdriver :)
Weird, I do not see extreme standby mode in eco assist in my device. Did they remove it in the latest version?
They should still have it. I do in mine :)
@@WinDeckTech Weird, I do not know why I don't see it in mine.
Thanks for the reply :)
Will this help increases stability if I’m having issues with my games crashing?
Ensuring you have the most upto date drivers should help with that.
Disabling core isolation and vmp are the best possible moves those for perf increase
Guessing if i replace my ssd to new one i have to redo the setup for it right?
To my loose knowledge,
core isolation removes the system processes from the OS and puts them in a virtualized system.
As well, with it being integrated into the OS unlike, Norton or Avast or John "legend" McAfee it will not bring the same system wide performance degradation
As well, it has internet security features.
@@WinDeckTech I hear you. Thanks for the advice!
cant find in the taskbar the " windows features" .... why
Do you mean the add or remove? you can also go to apps. Otherwise if you mean turn off or on windows features just type that in and it should come up
.8? Max seemed like.6 in debbloats not even a full gig?? Doesn’t bug me
I had to buy Forza 5 on steam and can launch it. Some reason it's not launching from game pass.
I have had very good success with tapping the little window that pops up before it launches.
That seems to work every time for me!
If you can try it and still refund on steam if it works for you. Worth a try!
What does the 1,2 and 3 buttons do? (the ones on the Fan configuration)
They are presets that Asus has made. Although last I checked, 1 and 2 were basically nothing then 3 was actually a curve
After using blotynosy I'm unable to play game pass games, forza horizon can't sync and percentage stuck at 0%, I've tried reinstall all Xbox services and apps, re enable from task scheduler but seems I need to reinstall windows from scratch...
Sorry you are having difficulty with this. Did you happen to have a restore point to test out? Game pass games are a pain sometimes to install there are some console commands you can use to force reinstall the Xbox stuff. I've had issues with it even without debloat
When I try to launch AMD software, it says it isn't compatible with my graphics driver? Is this normal?
Install the gpu drivers from myasus or Asus website
@WinDeckTech Thanks I sorted that as seems Windows removed them.
I couldn't disable core isolation and it bothers me. I did a fresh install from USB
Strange, it just won't allow you to toggle it on and off?
i got 60 fps on cyberpunk after the tweaks, not 68 like yours… is it normal? run the game from sd card tho
SD card could be impacting. No two devices are alike however. Double check your settings and make sure :) this video was made a little while ago now (bios updates wise)
@@WinDeckTech i followed every steps exactly as in this video
@@javierf6162 try running it on an SSD. Make sure you are at 30w

huh?! Doesn't the rog ally have 16gb ram??
Hello can you when help me ? I see something wrong with my rog ally when I play street fighter 6 on battery mode with turbo I can get 60 fps , but when I plug the charger it’s normal I never have this problem before
Try changing your fan curve profile on the manual settings. If I understand correctly you're not getting the same performance plugged in?
@@WinDeckTech yes is not the same performance on battery mod I loss like 10 fps but when I plugged it’s normal performance I try all mod I don’t understand
@@hafidihafidi7920 go into your operating mode and set a manual mode for 15w. When plugged in it will use 25-30 watts. When you are unplugged it runs in 15watt mode.
You can use more power unplugged but it will reduce battery life.
Match your sppt and spl in operating mode.

Helppp. Mine stuck on checking after downloading.
on cloud recovery? try removing the SD card as well try to restart the device if that doesn't work.
After this, I’m still getting high memory usage of 6,2gb instead of yours 4,0
What I did wrong or what to look at man?
Thanks in advance
Did you uninstall all non used programs as well as following the debloat? My memory usage was on fresh boots after 5 mins
Why do you want to bypass the windows setup?
If you wanted to set up offline. Don't have access to a connection, can't set up your computer these days
Heey,If i do not have windows acc can i create new on rog ?
Yup you can!
I somehow went up from 41% to 46%
Wtf mine from 4.3 ram usage now its 5.1 what did i do
On fresh boots?
wow it’s a lot of stuff to go through
Youre such a Chad! You could be considered a descendant of northern africa!
Hey man, I need some help. After I did bloaty nosy it was saying "process exited with code 0xc0000005" it wasn't giving me the option to hit yes and then restart. I swear I followed your video. Exactly to T made sure I checked through everything before I hit apply.
The CTT thing went well but nosy bloating is still giving me that
Hey, honestly if you are running CTT, I'd say you're pretty well off. With bloaty nosy, are you running it as administrator?
With CTT,I opened power shell, and ran it as administrator yes. I did not know I had to run bloaty as administrator. Do I right click it?
Wait , download some apps then disable all security??? Lol im jk......
