    It's really something passing by LAX at night and seeing 5, 8, 10, or even 12 sets of lights in a line trailing off far to the east, as planes from all over the world line up to land. Makes the world seem a lot smaller.

  • @SJR_Media_Group

    Former Boeing Everett here... it's easy to forget the thrill of flying a bird like the Triple Seven. We make them and concentrate on producing safe, dependable, and economical aircraft for customers around the world. All it takes is to see a perfect by the book landing at night at LAX for a reminder why we do it. Pilot and First Officer had great CRM, there was never anything misunderstood. Both worked very effectively as a team. I would love to once again be in the Flight Deck of a Triple Seven. When it first came out, the All Glass Cockpit was revolutionary. I always loved the color scheme Boeing used in the Cockpit. The digital displays and layout of switches is very logical. Thank you for video.

    That's an awesome view of the cockpit, lighting and panels inside, as well as kind of the irregular route into LAX. Most of the routes turn in around Santa Monica, then E to Downtown, then 180 degrees to the right, then straight west into LAX. But that could be a different runway approach. LA is beautiful at night from above!

L.A. does have high rises, but because it is such a wide sprawl, the skyscrapers are not a dominant feature of L.A.'s urban landscspe. L.A. pretty much looks flat and wide from above. And at night, with all the lights, that immense sprawl is impressive.

    It was hard to read some of the call outs in this video; white text over white lights in the background. In those cases, you should apply an unfeathered black border - 3 or 4 pixels wide - around the text so it will knock out the area around the text making it more readable.
    Also, while larger sensor cameras generally have better image quality, you run into the problem you see here, where the background is out of focus. A smaller sensor camera would give you greater depth of field allowing everything to be in focus. I know this is just a nighttime issue; it shouldn't be a problem during the day since you can stop the aperture down to maintain depth of field. Sure, it's not very "filmic"...but it would be nice to see the city in focus, even though our attention is on the pilots. Otherwise, great vid! Thanks!

      Thank you Tom. Indeed, we had to make the choice of displaying the text on the window ( and blocking the view) or on the overhead panel but loosing readibility with all the buttons below... We'll try to find out before we release the extended version.

    There's just something magical about flying into LAX at night time. I feel that everyone should do it at least once.
    Terrific video. I've certainly never seen the view from the cockpit before! I loved the annotations that explained what the pilots were doing when they hit certain switches etc.

    • @HighPressureAviationFilms
      @HighPressureAviationFilms  6 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      Thank you! Unfortunately, this video will be stolen and uploaded on big Facebook page (even if we share it also on Fb!) They will cut the logo at the beginning, at the end, and on the side. They will make million of views without any credits. We have no other choice than in the middle!

    What's the point of setting approach speed while the autothrottle system is turned off.

    • @HighPressureAviationFilms
      @HighPressureAviationFilms  6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      We always set the speed we are targetting, with our without autothrottle. To avoid any low speed insertion by mistake.
