In the real world we just bypass the heater core and buy another mustang with working heat and maybe a/c if you’re the sensitive type that needs such posh accommodations.
Yeah ok bud. I’ve been driving my car with no heat for 4 years. After these last few weeks of 20 degree days and a 5 am commute, I finally replaced my heater core.
Will the whole case come out? Or is there more involved there? I have a bad case of mice and have dash fully out. Next step is the to pull that whole hvac case/plenum out to deep clean. Thanks!
Kale - Yes, the HVAC case can be fully removed from the car. You'll need to remove additional fasteners and components to do this. Study the case and determine the attaching points and components. -Landan
What’s so different from 2000 to 2001 ? I have a 2000 and an 04 seems damn similar to me , I’m getting ready to pull dash and put one in my 2000 but can only find 01-04
Ok ok so I did all that but now the inside of my mustang does a hissing noise on the passenger side and there is no air coming threw the vents. What did I miss?
damn it man. why couldn't they just give access behind the glovebox drawer
That would be logical and what is known as the Toyota Way. We got the Ford Way instead.

LOL posh accomodations...dude, I'm not 25 any more (more like 2x that now)...I need my AC :)
I removed my compressor but left the condenser on and it's in the way
I'm debating trying to reinstall everything but the bypass pulley is worth it.

Glad to see the typo has been corrected :)
We made sure to get it fixed 😉
So you just happen to have interior removed hmm........

Thank you!
Please do a video for the evaporator core
Saddly you have to cut the box open to get the evaporator core out. It only took a few hours used duck tape to seal it back up didn't have any epoxy
Question : doesn’t the bullitt model have a different set of hoses for the heater core or would they be the same as the normal gt?
The Bullitt uses the same heater hoses. There is a T-fitting in the return hose that you will have to transfer to the new hose. -Landan
@@latemodelrestoration Thanks Landan!
With inflation, it will cost you $5000.00 for the dealer to do this job...LOL!

Ford switched to quick release/connect fittings on the heater core in 2001. Check out the link in the description to see our offering. -Landan
@@latemodelrestoration good to know thanks for the response
How u remove the 2nd nut behind accumulator?
With whatever tool works best for you. Socket wrench with appropriate socket, small ratcheting box-end wrench, or a small open-end wrench.
Ok ok so I did all that but now the inside of my mustang does a hissing noise on the passenger side and there is no air coming threw the vents. What did I miss?
Aron - Check over the vacuum lines. It sounds like you left one disconnected. -Landan
If I decide to remove the dash I’m going back in with a aftermarket air and heater box like Vintage Air.
this is why i do not own a mustang of year
05 to 09 the same
