    Diesel car owners 🤝 diesel truck owners: hating egr systems for trying to kill their engines

    Yeah, I thought I was the only one who liked the 328d wagon. I think I’m gonna get one as well. San Antonio has a few right now and there all certified pre owned. Anyway, I’m in Dallas as well. Really enjoyed your input.

      lol, everybody wants that car...hardest to get - Americans always want it so people think they go skiing and imitate europeans.....8 out of 10 cars in Europe are wagons or hatchbacks...only taxi cabs are sedans...

    • @Darylrb1983
      @Darylrb1983 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@levondarratt787 that's a pretty broad and inaccurate statement about Americans. I want one because I grew up in wagons, refuse to get an SUV or a van. Nothing to do with "imitating Europeans". There are quite a few wagon/estate enthusiasts over here. Unfortunately this country is ridden with SUVs so our community is a small percentage. Not enough to encourage automakers to bring their wagons over here. Shouldn't really lump "We Americans" in one specific, and incorrect group.

    I bought a used 328d sedan a year and a half ago with 28k miles. Great commuter car for my 40 mile drive to New Braunfels. I still wish I would have waited for a wagon although I did not want X-drive which all wagons come with. Stock power was okay, but felt a little lacking. Deleted and tuned the car within three months of ownership which increased power to around 230hp/380lb-ft at the wheels. Very easy to delete compared to other diesel I have deleted. It is a beast for a four banger, and the growl it now has on hard acceleration is awesome. It keeps up with my friends 2014 328i. I average 43 mpg calculated which is 45 mpg according to the computer since it is usually 2 mpg higher than my hand calculations each tank.

      Wish I had the car while it was out of warranty I got the feeling it would be a much better car with that potential unlocked. My favorite engine of all time is still the vw alh TDI. That engine could take anything and did it with so much soul. Sad to see diesels dying but I understand why they are.

    Is this egr valve part of the recall or just the egr cooler. Bmw want to Charge me for an egr replacement.

    • @thefadshow
      @thefadshow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They did the valve for via the recall and the cooler through my CPO warranty I believe. It is frustrating the recall doesn’t cover everything.

  • @edgy1rocks
    @edgy1rocks 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    What was the production date of your car? I bought a 2015 with 55K on it and I'm fearful of the EGR. I live in a relaxed emissions control area and would do the delete myself if I could figure out how to deal with the codes.

    • @edgy1rocks
      @edgy1rocks 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      1 year later - wow! EGR recall, NOX sensors replaced, giubo plate updated, transfer case replaced - all under recall/extended warranty. I still love the car but I was sweating bullets when all these issues started happening. Fortunately, dealer in Denver honored all the problems and it runs SUPER now!
