    I like people who play for example Artanis and they try to solo big camp on the same lane where rest of the team is, while we need him on objective/team fight...after clearing the camp in 2 minutes and 10% hp left he backs while the enemy team clears the camp in few seconds, because we already lost that teamfight.

    Ok, so at my level of play, this is actually the most informative video. These map-wide strategies are the next big thing I have to learn. Thank you! Also, a question: Do you think it is worth it to prioritize picking with heroes who are good at camps, just so I don't have to rely on my teammates having this same information? Or this will never work unless my whole team gets the picture?

    • @lordbalbero348
      @lordbalbero348 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      some camps like the giants and sappers can be taken by every hero without taking any dmg (there is a little violet circle on the ground, when they throw stuff) ... but some heroes like graymane, sonya or malthael are def. really good at takeing them in a short amount of time .... if you are interested in how to take the camps/ bosses in a good and efficiant way, maybe look this video up =) th-cam.com/video/PmBEsTDO_lk/w-d-xo.html

      @somamanyoki8174 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lord Balbero Thank you! I do know how to take camps and what heroes to do it withb my question was rather "is it worth it to pick a hero for its strong camp-clearing ability, to utilize the strategies in the video, or it's not worth it, because the strategies only work if the whole team gets them?"

    • @SuperTtKiller
      @SuperTtKiller 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on many things, like personal preference and draft. If you have a heavy push comp with a Zagara and a Dehaka/Falstad/Brightwing which usually contribute less to a teamfight, you can of course go even deeper into playing the map.

    In my ideal world, multiple mercenary camps are sent out in a wave. Knights going top lane + giants going bot at precisely the same time really forces the enemy to consider their response

    thank you so much for this, I'm a month in to this game and so glad I found this channel after looking all over youtube for explanations of HOS terms and how to approve. I'm still in the vs AI bubble, learning heroes, earning lvl 5s on heroes and trying to learn each maps strategies, and still trying to figure out terms like trading, and camp takeovers: when to, where to, and I found yours. Trading video wasn't easy for me to follow unfortunately, but I'm sure w/more practice and better players to play with this will make more sense. I'm also looking for a learning team to play with and not sure surprisingly at this point, where those teams and groups are. If you know where I can find groups that are of this mindset (training vs ai first, then kick it in QMs, and up together as a casual group (IE not you must play at this time each week or else, ideally a weekend and lite weeknights group)
    please someone get at me: TangentChaos#1131

    like it .. but norm. on boe i try to convince my team to get the kazra on the opposite lane where our shamen would go and put some pressure on the towers. than, while the halftime show is on sending out the shamen camp, so it will (mostly) reach the lane, when the immo apears on its opposite side (keep in mind. the immo always starts at the strongest enemy lane, with the most structure standing) ... so they norm. has to split up and get them into a much deeper tilt-mode as they have to defend the immortal AND a marching shamen-camp .... just my opinion :) .... but as sayed ... really like the video esp. the 4 rules should help a lot of ppl. most of them def just take them coz they are available, without any secound though on it :/

    I try to get camps or ping for them at the right times but if the enemy has a gaz or illidan or samuro I just get our camps when I can cause if not the enemy just has free range on them and I do it just to deny them our camps at that point. If we have heroes with very good wave/minion clear is the only time I don't worry about camps getting out of control.

    I played a game in The Haunted Mine, and one person said, "No one goes down the mine, the golem is garbage anyway, only camp we push through." I was baffled and argued him to go for skulls. In the end, we lost because enemy had 79 golem and it was the first one. It pushed through to the Core around 15mins mark.
    It is situational whether to go for only camps and stuff. But should it be normally a camp first for distraction, then skulls?

    • @VArsovski10
      @VArsovski10 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's the *Golem* that is not worth, not the small skeleton packs (IN FACT they VERY MUCH DO).. Or simply put in other words = if you allowed the opponent take like 40 of the small skulls you VERY MUCH ALREADY LOST the objective, and the TEAMFIGHT at the BOSS that you'd engage is in nature of COMPENSATION FOR MISTAKE rather than a decision with a weight of it's own [this is VERY IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE to understand and on the long run it piles up and it's importance is VERY HUGE]
      The Golem gives only 28 skulls, whilest the small dudes (although spread out) give 72 in total
      And not really = it's not about the "good or bad" it's more about you want to MAXIMIZE maximum gain for MINIMAL effort, in other words = do substantially things that are low risk high reward.. Then if that is not possible, next step is RISK CALCULATION, i.e. do the High risk high reward with MAXIMUM BET
      That being said the "low risk high reward" thing is the gathering of skulls on Haunted mines, or gathering the coins from chests on Blackheart
      The "high risk high reward" things are the actual turning in coins (cause the chance you'll get engaged in a teambattle is nearly 90%), or doing a boss after being behind for so long
      NOTICE HOW (this is VERY IMPORTANT) = in BOTH of those high risk high reward situations you want ALL Of YOUR TEAM to be there (i.e. leave no stragglers behind ever)
      So that's why it's VERY SUBTLE YET VERY DIFFERENT to what a one should be doing (ppl. say takes talent to understand leadership and risk taking, I get to it by simple 3 second method of elimination of possibilities lol), but yes = to "summarize" the process of decisionmaking
      1 = ESTIMATE whether you've got an "easy pass", i.e. taking majority of skulls or getting the chests without (or little to none) effort
      2 = IF NOT, then ESTIMATE if you are ahead or behind (i.e. whether or not you need to take risks to come back or not)
      3 = IF AHEAD, play it out smoothly (no need steal camps or push a lane hard just cause you can, utilize your POWER MOMENTUM of talent advantage or advantage/s in rotation)
      4 = IF BEHIND = DEFINITELY need to TAKE RISK to come back in the game (this is the HARDEST PART cause obviously people aren't keen on FOLLOWING HIGHLY IMPACTFUL DECISIONS done by others).. But yes = here's the thing:
      A = DO I REALLY NEED steal the camp/boss in order to level up the game or gain momentum (after a hard-fought battle) = mostly (if not 100% then it's at least 80-90% the case is YES)
      B = how would you like to do stealing of a boss in order to gain some leverage back = with 2 or 3 people or ALL 4 that are half HP ?), ofcourse the answer is obvious lol = when doing HIGH RISK HIGH REWARD, ALWAYS maximize the bet/gain cause otherwise low-bet-risking of a high-risk-impact is not worth (it's like investing in a small glass house when the whole world is about to be flooded by water, things like that lol)
      I mean = have you experienced the following = you just killed 3 of your opponents and only 1 of your team died, and instead of pressure and steal the opponent's bruiser/giants near their base, your team instead goes back and takes what is yours anyway (while the opponent feeling rushed take the bruiser/giants of their own).. Well = the outcome is simple = you just wasted a 4 man to 2 man advantage for nothing and even further = you allowed only 2 players on the whole map on your opponent side perform the very same amount/result/effect that 2 people did of your opponent
      So yah, those things IMO are VERY intuitive.. Sure, takes some experience but you don't "enforce rules on the game" and don't go in with the "I will show everyone they're wrong" kind of mentality in playing the game, you just simply enjoy and try to observe/understand it's "most natural (seemingly effortless) flow".. If having that mentality that just mentioned above = simply put HotS IS NOT for you (you'd better be boxing and knocking down "bad guys" for a living lol)
      And finally = It's not even an "art of war" thing or "machiavelism" (in fact 1st I respect but don't bother with, and *HATE THE GUTS* of the other :D).. Simply put it's *the very basic common sense 101* type of thing lol.. It's sometimes kinda hard to assess/understand when others are doing those so end up in a complete clown-fiesta game near the end of even up teams in skill and the "pendulum" can easily swing toward doing a throw or not taking enough risk so opponent simply battles without effort lol.. However = IN BOTH CASES notice how the mistake was in misunderstanding i.e. (lack of perception) of what teammates wanted to do by one member or another (instead of it being "BAD IDEA" (huh, this is confusing, have to emphasize the irony so using quoting marks along with capitals surely feels strange) lol
      P.S. = have never been nor will I ever be a fan of the so-called "core calls" = better take 2 keeps and let things "bleed out", it's about at least 90% if not outright 100% better, the core-calls aren't a "Imma dominate so hard" kind of a decision, it's in fact THE ULTIMATE FORM OF HIGH RISK HIGH REWARD (i.e. do it only when been behind all game long and feeling like there will be not a similar chance in the future)
      Hope things are a bit clearer now, GL HF :)

    Misuse of cognitive dissonance, but I like these videos! Subscribed.
    An example of cognitive dissonance relative to your video btw, would be "the enemy has taken their shaman camp" and "the enemy has not taken their shaman camp" at the exact same time.

    • @Torinett
      @Torinett 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No, that's not quite it either. His example, while flawed in its definition, was closer to the truth. Cognitive dissonance is when the reality of something and how you think of it in your head are different. For example, I am an epic Genji and so therefore will win this team fight, and the team fight is lost. Usually, the response is something like, oh, I'm a great Genji, so my team must be full of buffoons.

    • @Keyce0013
      @Keyce0013 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Torinett I think it was "I need to defend against this camp" and "I need to get this objective." I'm not sure if it's cognitive dissonance, but it's certainly putting stress on the enemy team by forcing them to choose between two options that are ultimately going to be bad for them either way. They either take the enemy mercs down and lose the objective, or they stay on the objective and let the mercenaries attack their towers.

  • @deadfishyarou
    @deadfishyarou 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't get it. On Braxis you say that taking the siege camp could help your 4-man take the objective by creating pressure at 4:16. But then at 4:45 you say that it won't do anything because "it's just a 4-man vs a 4-man and it's a stalemate".
    When does it do anything then? Surely not when your 4-man is losing, because then the enemy 4-man has more space to safely clear the camp, no?

      The usual response to this is that you should pick heroes to solo camps, like Sonya or Malth. But people who say that don't understand that this is hard to do, because in that level of pley your team mates insta pick four assassins, and you end up having to heal lol
