Zoe, for part 2 of kpop is ruining you , can you look into variety shows enabling these unrealistic body standards .. I remember watching girl group AOA on weekly idol and the hosts were measuring the girls waist sizes, I specifically remember Mina having a size 19 waist and the other looked uncomfortable getting measured after her. Please look into variety shows and how much they sexualize young female idols. Red velvet joy seems to be a constant victim of this 😢

“No, the only time I throw up is when I see tone deaf comments like these” YESSS I love how transparent you are. You always provide the facts I love it 👏🏽
That's what I think! I'm already skinny, so when people see me exercising they might think I do it to be thinner, but actually not, I do it to be healthier and stronger
@@iara7596 So glad I'm not the only one because I'm naturally thin and skinny so when people see me exercising, they think losing weight or starbing myself or something when really it just helps with my mental health and me feeling good within myself
As someone who has been shamed for being "too thin" and had a chubbier stage in my late teens (I only weighed about 8-10 kg more than I do now, but when that's 1 5th of your body weight, it's A LOT) I've had all the bullying. I tick every box for being at super high risk of an eating disorder. I have been extremely fortunate in my life that I haven't developed one, and have been on a long and winding road toward a healthier lifestyle. I resonate so hard with this whole video. It literally does not matter what your body type is, someone is going to shame you for something. It's pretty fucked up, but it's fact. No matter though, because we don't listen to hateful trash. (=
Same! I also lost something li 1/4th of my body weight to become close to "normal" as possible and I'm now unfortunately scared and obsessed with weight gain :(
I've been shamed by my mother for being thin, for putting on a little weight, and then for losing said weight and being "too thin" again. It's a no-win.🙄
Omg me too about not having developed an ed by some kind of miracle 😢 im so prone…i dont have an ed just cuz i feel like im not even responsible enough even for that
I've been called "fat" for almost two decades of my life but the moment I knew society was completely broken was when big girls called me a _skinny bitch_ when I was actually "average", according to others. I figured that to some I'll be fat and to others I'll be skinny. I honestly prefer thick, lean, meaty, curvy, chubby, slim, or athletic as opposed to just fat or skinny. Society is broken, not you.
Same... Been told that I was fat. Mom gave diet products since I was in Junior high school. But when I looked back. Looking at old picture. 🥲 I was not obese. Sure I was a bit chubbier. But not obese. Yet somehow my own family, some friends, and society made me feel that I needed to constantly try to lose weight every time. 😭 I gained a lot of weight because of stress at work, at home and cause of pandemic. But I am proud to say that I am going through a healing process that helped me take this weight loss journey slowly. It will take longer time, but I know I can. Not to fit someone's standards. But to be healthy, stronger and to make my body feel more comfortable. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm average but some classmates call me fat. Luckily not a lot of people do that so I'm getting better at handling my insecurities. Y'all have beautiful smiles, please keep smiling and take care of yourself ♥️
I've had a similar experience where obese relatives and friends call me skinny. I have extra weight in my midsection and arms and a bit of double chin now and it just invalidated me as I was gaining a little weight.
Except they are not helpful for weightloss. Sure these are good tips to maintain weight when you are already slim. But if you want to lose weight you need to STARVE and workout alot
not counting calories has not only VASTLY improved my relationship with food, but i believe it’s what helped me build my metabolism. i get to eat all the foods i enjoy (in moderation of course) without feeling guilt. not only that, working out is something i now look forward to, since it’s what’s been keeping my metabolism on fire 🔥
Love that. It’s all about finding exercises that you love that keep us healthy. I actually found the opposite though with calorie counting and macros, but I guess it really depends whether or not it’s useful to help your body do what you want it to do. Not everyone needs to understand nutrition at that level of detail. Plus, as a society, calorie counting used to be used in those points-based diet systems where people were trained to look at food as ‘good or bad’ based on the calories. I think that caused a lot of psychological scarring that we’re only just beginning to repair, and it’s not like those systems disappeared. It’s a shame that it was used as a tool to make people have a bad relationship with their nutrition, rather than taught as a useful tool for performance and recovery
@@azu7370 it's a process that takes time, but what i found helpful is do other activities and not really overthink when and what you're eating. i never had a severe ED but this is what helped me!!
@@azu7370 well, you can start today and go little by little, everyday you try to eat something without counting the calories (if you're obsessed with it ofc). E.g: today you eat breakfast without counting calories, tomorrow you eat lunch without counting...
My body dysmorphia and eating disorder recovery has been very hard for me, emotionally and physically but I wanted to let you know that your videos have really helped me
I can relate! I'm recovering from binge eating disorder and I am trying to lose a bit of weight but these videos remind me to continue doing it healthily and not starve or do anything bad like that ❤ we're in this together sister hope the rest of your recovery goes well 💝💝

I've had people call me anorexic before, which has felt so unfair and rude - I've just always been a lean person. I actually eat a lot! (and regularly during the day, making sure to include nutritious food in meals to balance out the unhealthy stuff I eat like biscuits.) I hate that we as people get shamed for existing a certain way, be it thin, fat, muscular, whatever. Unless you're actually dangerously overweight or underweight and need help, your body shape/size isn't other people's business.
Yessss, thank you for this! I've been skinny most of my life. I've been teased about it mercilessly and accused of having an ED. I've heard everything you touched on in this video. It's like, dude: I exercise regularly, I eat a balanced diet. No crash diets, no "metabolism boosters", no crazy restrictions. Just a lot of lean protein, fruits and veggies, and whole grains. I limit overly processed foods or fast food but I enjoy them in moderation. I don't measure my fitness by tracking my weight but by what I'm able to do and my overall body fat (as you mentioned).
@@Blkpll humble bragging by agreeing with and sharing similarities in my own life with what was shared in this video? Alright. 🤷♀️ Keep on being salty. ✌️

@@gkerjek it's not necessarily "luck" though. By saying it's luck or an ED or whatever is completely discounting the hard work that a person may be putting into keeping their body at it's peak, whatever that may look like for the individual. It really just comes across as "Boohoo. I don't look like that person so welp, they must have an ED!" I personally admire more muscular women but struggle to gain muscle myself. I don't assume: "Well *I* struggle to put on muscle therefore they must be using steroids." I know a lot of women that have a stockier build than I do and they put in the dang work to look like that.
@@tiffanymendoza9523same here to be honest. I am only still slim because I have a healthy balanced lifestyle. I do eat nonsense food but only sometimes. I don't think I can constantly poison my body just because of my genetics. Keep doing you! I loved your comment. It is nice to see another slim person taking care of themselves. ❤
So my best friend is extremely skinny and underweight. She does not have any kind of an eating disorder. The problem is that her body can't save the fat in the food. She used to take a lot of medicine in her early childhood wich lead to her not being able to gain weight. Right now she visits her doctor a lot in hope of one day having a healthier weight. It's so sad that she gets skinny shamed or told she had an ED, even though this is in no way true. I think it's really a problem of our society that you are a bad person if you tell someone that being extremely overweight is unhealthy, but telling skinny people that they have ED, even though that's not true, is okay?! I don't get it... Btw what I'm saying is that you should try to keep your weight on a healthy level, I'm not trying to offend anybody. Great Video ❤️ (Btw I hope my english is okay...)
I agree and thanks to the new movement of umm ok I don’t want this to sound bad but overweight people and then you have the underweight thing so now that it’s being pushed to represent overweight people and it’s become kind of a trend witch isn’t healthy either so now more people are jumping on people as soon as they hear the work Weight and it’s ridiculous because I don’t think either extreme is a good thing but so what is someone is a little over weight or under it’s no one’s business at the end of the day yes trying to encourage healthy is a good thing but in a positive way also some people have health problems like your friend their and I just think people need to learn how to understand all the sides of something
Yeah. The pressure to keep at society's ideal weight, which is currently undecided, is unbearable. Also your English is better than mine and I'm a native speaker :3
Way to clap back! 💖 I think that body shaming-skinny shaming or fat shaming-is just so not cool. As someone with a BMI under 25, I do not see myself as skinny at all, so I guess it’s a matter of perspective as well. I also think we should just try not to make assumptions about people just based off of looks.
Growing up, the way people spoke about my own body was very,, weird. I'm Korean, and just that was enough for everyone around me to expect me to be perfect like a doll. But I'm not, and this goes for everyone out there. I used to be fairly skinny, sometimes so that adults would tell me to eat more or that I need to gain a few more pounds. Although it should've been taken as a joke in their eyes, as a child, I felt depressed when it came to my body image and became insecure the older I got. When middle school started, my world came to shambles. Corona started, and I stress-ate up till 7th grade. I gained about 20 pounds. And luckily I have lost all that weight right now, but it was such a hard time for me then. My own mom, my own family, strangers, and adults I barely know would comment on my body like it was a yelp review. For those out there who easily stress-eats to overcome their problems, it's okay to do that sometimes. But please be aware that it is not a good coping mechanism for any type of stress. Try to do something more productive, and always be positive about your image and who you are.
Zoe, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. By finding your channel I started visiting a nutritionist to help me recover from ED that I've been suffering from for 7 years now. What you say in all of your videos makes a lot of sense and makes me hopeful for my future relationship with my body and food in general. Keep on doing what you do xx
Excellent information Zoe, we need to stop these misconceptions about skinny people. I'm skinny as well and love to eat. But i have healthy habits and it's really difficult for me to gain weight. I really apprecciate this type of content because helps people to understand how skinny bodies works and teach them that all bodies are different and need respect as well.
I’ve been struggling to even get hungry for about 18 years now and recently managed to start eating multiple meals throughout the day because I was about to have a major surgery and I am a nutritionist so luckily I got to take classes on presurgical meal planning. I fully expected to gain weight (which I was excited for), but apparently I’m just going to be the same size forever because I somehow didn’t destroy my metabolism (going to assume it’s because I drank Soylent or ensure any time I could afford to keep it on hand and that kept me from avoiding nutrition completely). The only difference I’m noticing is I don’t get dizzy every time I am standing, for which I am extremely grateful!!! I love when people cover skinny shaming btw, thanks for having the guts to say anything. I just smile and “laugh” when people are rude about my body size
It’s possible a lot of skinny people just don’t realize they’re not eating as much as others. I think this is the case for me. I will eat a lot if I’m out at a restaurant but when I’m at home I just keep to the three meals a day and won’t snack hardly at all. I just don’t have the desire to. Whereas I witnessed my bigger room mate eat all day every day and would do things like eat a whole bag of chips in one setting. I’ve heard of people eating like that before but I thought it was an exaggeration. All that snacking adds up! I’m not saying I don’t enjoy eating junk food but it’s in moderation. I contribute it more out of being too lazy to get up and go to the kitchen and a small appetite more than anything else.
This!!! I have skinny friends who think they eat so much and that they just have a fast metabolism but then when I see them eat they eat like birds lol
Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s also a studied medical fact. Metabolism isn’t so common that every slim person has it, it’s simply they are overestimating how much they eat just how overweight people underestimate how much they eat. And that fat people have a faster metabolism because they are eating so much so meat loss does not mean you are slim it’s simply less calories.
Yep, this is what it is for the large majority of skinny people. I’m more curvy, and though I’m at a healthy weight, it’s not without a fair bit of effort to not overeat. It’s not my metabolism that’s the problem- it’s that I just eat more overall on an often unconscious level. My skinny cousin just doesn’t have the same food focus. She enjoys food and indulges in many delicious meals, but she rarely overeats, her portions are small and if they’re not, she doesn’t eat for awhile. And all of this is largely without much thought. I think the real difference between people who struggle with weight vs people who don’t is their relationship to food, how impulsive they are, and the sense of reward they get from eating. All these factors can lead to consuming more calories than you realize.
I feel like your point about thin people not "relying on genetics" is short-sighted. At your high weight, you were not overweight. Not everyone's non-dieting weight is "skinny fat." If your version of letting go is still looking relatively slim, you probably still have good genetics. Obviously lifestyle is a factor, but your point would come across stronger if you acknowledged this.
Asians think anything that isn't underweight is fat. She is currently at a bmi of 17.9 and yes, she is lean but also underweight. In her past videos she looks like a bmi of 16 and we can even see her chest bones. She is anorexic.
Zoe, thank you so much, I’ve been skinny shamed by my own family, I hope one day to be as ripped as you, not skinny lol! You helped me love myself again, thank u c:
For everyone who doesnt know, there are different body types. Ectomorph, endomorph and mesomorphs. Ectomorph are the people who are much leaner or skinnier because they (usually) have a very fast metabolism naturally snd its harder for them to gain weight compared to another body type.
I find it so funny how this Channel is so contradicting, I can tell your audience is young and you put Yourself as a rôle model and à influencer the marketing is on point ,
As someone who has been chubby my whole childhood, I’ve taken action recently. Since I don’t want to become obese or too overweight. I don’t look towards being too skinny, but healthier and better looking.
I feel like tracking calories isn't too bad if you are within the right mental state to do it, because it can be dangerous if you count and then become obsessed, I've done this and it wasn't good, so i took time to re assess and now I count but also think about the nutrition also meaning if something is like 80 calories and not nutritious I won't eat it ill choose something that is over 100 calories but holds more nutrition, this has really helped me with deficit and getting closer to the goals I want.
i’ve always been quite skinny (purely genetics, as I eat as much as the grown men in my family) and i’ve always been so shamed for it, specially in high school, guys telling me i needed more curves to be attractive, teachers being “concerned” about my health (in front of the whole class), receiving the eat a burger comment a thousand times, friends accusing me of being secretly anorexic, never finding clothes that fit me etccc people are extremely cruel if you’re out of the ordinary skinny, it’s not an advantage at all lol
it’s so nice to have a youtube channel talking realistically about health instead of just trying to sell exercise programs or diets :,) (not that there’s anything wrong with wanting to monetize your passion, but it does make it a lil harder to trust what they say from the outside looking in.) thank you man. you are the bomb diggity
As someone who *does* have an eating disorder - some of the things that you don't do - I do. But it does makes sense - there is a difference between a healthy skinny person, and a person with an eating disorder. I do starve myself, I don't exercise, and etc. Am I healthy? Absolutely not. But that doesn't mean other skinny people (who don't have eating disorders) aren't. I'm happy for you, I hope I can recover, you're a great inspiration :]
honestly, as someone who has (failed recovery, thus present simple) a restrictive eating disorder, now that im at my lowest and im constantly being skinny shamed, my mind tells me "yehh you're doing great" , it tells me to take skinny shaming as a compliment, and that's due to the overwhelming fatshaming i have received since i was like 6, this isn't me trying to downplay skinny women's pain, im just trying to give other people a greater view of eating disorders and how many (ex or nyn) non skinny women view skinny shaming as a goal, it's a very messed up case because i truly feel ashamed of my disorder
I understand how that could work. Like being asked to eat a burger rather than a salad. It feels like an achievement. But now that you are already skinny, could you maybe focus on building some lean muscles? I know this sounds very rude, but this is what I tell myself to keep myself on track. Everyone loves compliments, right? Just focus on the compliments you will get when you have abs. And in the process, you will also get stronger and have a better diet. Just my 2 cents...
the chart at the beginning is so inaccurate when it comes to my body. it says i am "severely obese" when my body has 80% muscle. muscle weighs in more than fat; please dont forget it
I believe people who spread hate actually hate themselves as well (even if they deny it) They're the miserable ones. They can't stand it when people succeed at something where they're failing at.
honestly tired of this repetitive content about "how skinny you are despite eating so much food" like this is giving me pick me vibes and just a weird flex overall, this is all your content has been for the past weeks and it's just boring at this point. well i'll just unsubscribe i guess
she probably feels the need to keep telling/showing people she eats a lot because she is accused of not eating enough all the time. i’m sure she’s tired of people thinking she has an restrictive eating disorder and she also wants to help normalize that skinny girls can eat a lot. I don’t understand why that’s bad. If this was a girl saying and showing that she doesn’t eat a lot but still has a higher weight you wouldn’t see it as her trying to flex or call her a pick me.
Honestly there's something so wrong with society and beauty standards. Body shaming is NO fun and it happens to everyone no matter the size. I have an ED and as I was loosing weight drastically, I was praised and congratulated for being sick essentially. My body broke down eventually and I binged uncontrollably, gained weight back right to where I started and people have been talking behind my back about how big I've gotten. Now I get comments that I need to loose weight because I used to be so much skinnier...this is fucked up. I deal with a relapse atm and this video helped a lot, my metabolism is down the drain and I want to be healthy and strong!!!
I’m skinny and I don’t eat junk food at all. It started off as a challenge to see how long I could go without sugar and somewhere along the way I just stopped craving it. Now on the rare occasions I do have it a lot of stuff tastes too sweet and fake/artificial I don’t know how to describe it. I crave Whole Foods and it’s been a great change because I used to struggle with binge eating. Now I’ve had the same pint of ice cream in my fridge since thanksgiving and after 1-2 bites I’ve had enough.
who tf gives disgusted looks over someone saying they do intermittent fasting?😅💀 I hope you can get rid of those people in your life. Cause no one else should care when you eat, tbh😅
@@NoctLightCloud Thanks. But I think ppl just get scared that I have an eating disorder because they see an average weight/build woman that "doesn't eat". So there's some emathy in there, but it comes out as disgust or pushy comments about how I "should" eat. Probably because it's easier for ppl to do that than to have a real serious conversation about it with me.
@@harfir7169 Agree! And tbh "not eating" for hours isn't anything unnatural. People are just weird😅 I'd be more concerned for the growing percentage of overweight people. I used to be overweight almost my entire childhood and my entire teenagehood (it mentally and physically scarred me for life) and I wished my parents would've done anything to prevent it. I've shed the weight in my 20s via intermittent fasting, calorie counting, zumba, and a gym inscription. (And the treatment I got from the general public as an overweight vs normal weight person is honestly shocking.)
don't forget bone structure and muscle mass. Especially if you do sports. Even when I lost a lot of fat (lost my boobs and my period as well), I was still muscular especially in my lower body
Seeing how many people struggle with the same thing as me makes me feel seen and very sad at the same time, hope you all get to a healthy point in your life, get a healthy relationship with food and excercise
this really helped me get motivated to start going to my university's gym more! it's done a HUGE flight of stairs and it's constantly snowing, but i can definitely make the trek :)
and omg i literally almost lost it at the part in the video when the girl said "lets stop allowing skinny people to claim that they have body dysmorphia so that they can't be fatph*bic"??????? 3:39
I’ve been skinny shamed so much as I’ve grown up. I have a naturally fast metabolism so I’ve never felt the need to “stay skinny”. But having that naturally lean physique has lead people to ask me if I have an ED (i don’t and never have) and to tease me about how thin my arms and legs are. Only a few days ago, a friend of mine called me a twig and said that he could easily break my wrists in half if he wanted to. Those kinds of comments are ones that I’ve always ignored, but it does get under my skin, especially when it’s a close friend or family member. Hoping that everyone in the comments is doing well and remember that you are beautiful in every way.
As a guy it's even worse, I've been skinny-shamed quite literally my whole life now, yesterday itself a classmate was asking me if I "don't eat anything" like 💀
I’m pretty sure a lot of the whole “she must starve” thing is because people don’t really have much knowledge on actual health and gaining/ loosing weight. I used to think super skinny girls also needed to eat or that they were anorexic until now because my best friend is really tall and very thin and she struggles with actually gaining weight which is what she’s told to do. It’s just the same as for me, a curvier person struggles with loosing weight. I ended up loosing 30 pounds after being pretty overweight (i did it healthily for over a year) and since now ive been pretty slim and have alos been told to eat more👁👄👁 after all that hard work and dedication like bro theres no safe point in this
thank you! finally someone said it. she clearly Was blessed by the genetic lottery because even when she was throwing down those cupcakes and gained the slightest amount of weight (like literally 2 grams of fat on her skinny stomach) it made her look still extremely slim but honestly healthier than rn.. even when I lost 20 pounds due to incredibly strict dieting and an eating disorder and later due to a chronic gastric illness, I've never been as thin as her. I'm just 'big-boned', have naturally larger muscles and weigh a lot more than I look so even doctors are surprised. just like my mother I seem to gain weight from eating a single cookie, we just genetically have this curvy round body type that holds onto every ounce of fat and no matter how much we work out, our metabolism will not improve. also working out a lot makes me want to eat three times as much so it's really not effective at all. my brother as well, he's at the gym every single day, is only 18 and still can't get rid of the chubbiness. so to have naturally skinny and petite women like her complain about the tiniest amount of body fat (which srsly just looks good and natural on a woman anyway) while pretending they're so terribly affected by 'skinny-shaming' is just ridiculous. she fits both east-asian and western beauty standards looking like this, the only thing is that in the west she's considered too flat. but 99% of the time skinniness is still preferred to curvy chubbiness (which almost always comes with extra fat in places where it's not appreciated and cellulite, stretch marks etcetc.). this is proven by the horrid statistics that women aren't most likely to be underpaid due to racism or homophobia but because of fatphobia. hence some skinny girl making video upon a video bragging about how skinny she is and how much she can eat while body-checking clips of her extremely thin frame are in the background is just insanely tone-deaf and hypocritical. I mean she claims she Isn't naturally slim only to show she's always been tiny even when having gained weight, then shows how hard she works out (bordering on orthorexia by the looks of it) to remain 'a skinny legend' - inarguably a fatphobic term, all the while pretending skinny women are majorly disadvantaged somehow. none of it checks out. the reality is that some people just won't gain weight however inactive and ravenous while others could breathe in the vicinity of pastry and gain weight. and every statistic shows that slim people are preferred and idealized in every sense, not just in terms of personal attraction. not a day goes by where I wouldn’t change body types with naturally slim people, especially since I don't enjoy spending a lot of time mindlessly exercising and watching every mouthful to make sure I don't gain yet more weight. the grass really is greener on the skinny side.. I've never even been overweight per se, just slightly chubby and ruthlessly shamed for it since childhood to the point that I'll have trauma, trust/ intimacy issues for the rest of my life. the only culture where skinniness is mocked in a similar way is African and that's about it, everywhere else slim to extremely slim figures are preferred.
Also, "skinny" doesn't look the same for everybody. I naturally have bigger / blunter bones and a large frame (yay wide shoulders and hip bones). So even if I weigh the same as a person with a smaller frame, I will appear "heavier" than them. Plus - the old endomorph ectomorph body types thing might be regarded as outdated nowadays, but there is some truth to it, too. Some people like me CANNOT appear as skinny as others, because of the way our bodies are built. I would never get comments like "OMG you probably are unhealthy" simply because I would literally have to starve myself to look like some healthy, fit girls like Zoe! I could neverrrrr look her way of skinny, no matter what I did
Hi zoeeeee I found this video last year when beginning another cycle of starving for months then bingieing etc…. I’ve stumbled across the video again and I’m commenting to tell you this video pulled me out of my ED cycles and I’ve lost 50lbs THE HEALTHY WAY. Thank you for the help :) love u
I love your videos so much. Yes I do know all of this but I tend to forget. Especially when my mental health declines. In the past year I had to regain a good amount of weight(cuz of health issues) but I gained it in an unhealthy way of eating and living, in a way which really messed up my relationship with food yet again. I want to start taking care of it again and fix my relationship with food. This was the PERFECT reminder for me. Thank you Zoe, ILY
There's so much resentment going on from people who are not skinny. That's where this really comes from. Some people do have health issues such as Cushing's syndrome, Hashimoto's, Type 2 diabetes, and PCOS which contribute to obesity. I think it's important to acknowledge that not everyone who is overweight or even obese is sitting around eating McDonalds. I have PCOS and used to have to do one fast day a week just to not gain weight. Just because someone is a certain size doesn't mean that they eat endless amounts of food just as someone who is underweight doesn't starve themselves. I've been overweight and underweight. I don't enjoy food like I used to when I was underweight. To me, it's just something to put in your body.
Girlllll tell me about it. It's so weird how people expect tall people to look like bodyguards. I'm 5'10 and I am 54kg and to be at a healthy weight I have to at least be 56something. I am literally only almost 3kgs from being considered healthy according to society. People love to treat me like I am extremely underweight when I am not. I am a black woman which does not help either because in my community people are extra large and even people outside my community expect me to look like that. It is just very odd and disgusting all together to be honest. In real life the tall women I see are all huge. People always expect tall women to have the same genes as Meghan The Stallion or to look like her. Honestly I'm so over it and I'm not going to put up with any disrespect from anyone. Funny thing because these same people only stare and they do not have the actual balls and ovaries to say anything to one's face because I can most definitely go there lol.
I thought this video was a joke. But thank you. I'm glad I found your channel your videos are so helpful. Its good to hear this from a person who struggled with their weight too.
07:00 I don't really vibe with the gym and I don't always have the mental energies to attend sports in my uni. A good alternative for me is walking/cycling to get to places and not taking elevators or the escalators as much as I can. If I have to move something heavy like a luggage I'll walk/take public transportation not just because it's cheaper, but also to prevent loosing all my strength. I'm not saying that all of this will be a substitute for the gym or a sport you do with consistency, but I feel like being sedentary also involves not really moving you body to go to places and being always seated instead.
Sounds like a great mindset to me! Strenght training may be the most optimal road to a high metabolism but it isn't for everyone and has its own risks (some people get injured easily for instance). Being active is the most important. The thing is picking what suits us the best and sticking to it with realistic expectations.
u made my day. thank you so much ! this content was so useful to me. i was so obsessed about my weight that i was starving my self had low energy during the day till i got the weight i desired but when i did i wasn't happy . it was not worth it
going to the gym helped me recover from my ed, i started seeing food as fuel, my metabolism now is so good compared to the past and i eat almost whatever i want (tho i try to stick to healthy food with high protein))) tryna become a muscle mummy now instead of sickly skinny
I love these tips and I love your videos. My only gripe with this video is that the definition for skinny is literally people who are not overweight. Skinny is more - looking thin, more so than average. Also this is everything you have done to be healthy that has also made you thinner, but you are missing out the huge role that genetics and metabolism plays in some people. Obviously this varies. Showing women being skinny shamed then concluding that "we just work hard to be this way" - is true for many but misses the mark for many of us too. I don't work out and my diet is trash but my genetics mean that I am skinny. I am unhealthy and lacking in nutrients and trying to eat more and work out more. If I was healthier and did this all I would gain weight. Bodies are varied. Conversely I know women who will forever be overweight due to thyroid and hormonal issues.
I'd say that a BMI between 18 and 20 is more on the skinny side. When we reach 25 we are officially overweight. There won't be that much of a difference between the appearance of someone at 24 and 25, even if you are officially healthy. (not taking into consideration fat percentage in body)
I'm glad she debunked some misconceptions with being skinny. Right now I'm exercising to lose weight but I've been a bit nervous about losing too much weight becuse all over my TH-cam shorts is skinny girls talk about is their terrible experience with being skinny.
Tbh I really like her. Her always said everything as it is. as "humanize. human". Because that's an important thing that people need to know, we are created with differences and we are beautiful because of those differences.
Skinny girls also don’t make skinny girl content. It’s a no brainer that you’re eating at a lower calorie deficit on most days. The fact that you strength train, but don’t have a lot of muscle mass shows that you do not get the adequate amount of macros for the energy being used. If you’re aiming for 100g of protein.. you’re trying to stay at 100lbs. 100lbs for most people is not healthy. Bottom line.. this video is dangerous for people with an ED or recovering from one. Being skinny isn’t everything. This coming from another “skinny girl”
im sorry but you say one thing but do another. your old videos are chalk full of trends of diets.. but you havent deleted theem or at least made a disclaimer and stopped moneytizing over them. teens can still see those toxic mindesets and follow them. i have unsubscribed due to this and many have also.
thank you very much! this video helps me to keep fit without dieting or starving. sometimes it’s hard, sometimes I feel helpless, but thankful to such video, I keep moving on my own path. 🌹💌
I remember we were talking with my asian college about the gym and how disappointed we are about our results. She said 'I wanted to gain some muscles, but ended up just become more and more skinny', and I said 'I wanted to loose some weight, but ended up gaining more and more muscles', and we look at each other like this 🌚🌝
I also just wanna add that some skinny girls may look skinny but can be very unhealthy with just the way they eat and the amount of excersize they get. I, as a skinny girl, is a very great example of this. But I am working on getting a workout plan and building my muscles so :))
The no eating thing is so accurate, I always get asked the same, I'm a US size 2 and eat over 2000 calories every day. I am skinnier now than when I used to have an ED, all because I regularly work out and built up muscle that requires more nutriets.
Hello, Zoe. You're such a high quality woman! You've came so far. You inspire me a lot. I respect you a lot. You have helped me a lot. I wish you the best in life! Wish you get everything you need and want in life! You're such a great woman! I'm not wishing you good because you helped me but you, in general, an Amazing Person! And i love seeing you growing in life. Sending you lots of love! Here's a song i dedicate to you - Miss Independent by Ne-Yo.
I feel like my parents secretly have been making me do these because I’ve been eating salads and have so much fibre intake that my bloating has reduced it really does work!
That woman who said that thin people don't have body dysmorphia is so wrong and her thinking is so damaging. I used to be morbidly obese and now I'm at a healthy weight ( she probably would consider me as thin but I'm not) and I see myself as much bigger than I am. I don't think these people understand how difficult it is to come to terms with your appearance when you've lost the weight of a small human. In my mind I'm still fat and ill always carry this with me despite how my body looks like.
I'm a chunky dude, never aspired to be "skinny", but obviously there's a lot of pressures related to "weight", fitness, and nutrition when trying to maintain a "healthy" lifestyle. The mere existence of some of these myths are shocking (especially concerning eating fiber and protein, like wut??), but more importantly highlight the ignorance (and propaganda) surrounding achievement of "ideal" body types. Thank you, always
0:13 I'm a few seconds in and thet's not skinny...thet's having a marfenoid phenotype and is exclusively connected to a series of genetic disorders and should be check by a doctor
For my whole life my BMI was never over 21, but as a teenager i was fat shamed because of my chubby face, big hips and belly. I still can’t see myself as skinny person because of that
Okk she is right... Growing up I have been labelled as skinny... I never starved my self I even started eating 5 times a day when I hit puberty at 13..... And i never really gained fat my weight was always around 45-48.... 48kg was the weight I tried so hard to reach... By eating 5 meals a day... I would get up early morning and have solid breakfast with a glass of milk (5:30-6 am), then eat at school around 9:30-10:00 then come home by 1:30 have lunch just after I come home..... Go for tutions and come home in the evening.... Have some evening snacks or light meal(6pm) and let's not forget dinner at 9 pm... .... And now I'm 20 this was before lockdown
Hope you stay well and healthy!🤍 more on how to have a stronger metabolism:

Zoe, for part 2 of kpop is ruining you , can you look into variety shows enabling these unrealistic body standards ..
I remember watching girl group AOA on weekly idol and the hosts were measuring the girls waist sizes, I specifically remember Mina having a size 19 waist and the other looked uncomfortable getting measured after her. Please look into variety shows and how much they sexualize young female idols. Red velvet joy seems to be a constant victim of this 😢
Correction. It was 17 inches 😳.

@@iara7596 So glad I'm not the only one because I'm naturally thin and skinny so when people see me exercising, they think losing weight or starbing myself or something when really it just helps with my mental health and me feeling good within myself
yeah!!!!
Yes! ✨
Same! I also lost something li 1/4th of my body weight to become close to "normal" as possible and I'm now unfortunately scared and obsessed with weight gain :(
I had the same thing in my teens.
Getting shamed for eating a lot but still slowly losing weight.

I was not obese. Sure I was a bit chubbier. But not obese.
Yet somehow my own family, some friends, and society made me feel that I needed to constantly try to lose weight every time. 😭
I gained a lot of weight because of stress at work, at home and cause of pandemic. But I am proud to say that I am going through a healing process that helped me take this weight loss journey slowly.
It will take longer time, but I know I can. Not to fit someone's standards. But to be healthy, stronger and to make my body feel more comfortable.

Luckily not a lot of people do that so I'm getting better at handling my insecurities.

Any tips to stop counting calories? :(

As someone with an ED and body dysmorphia this video made me feel alot better about everything, thank you!
It really just comes across as "Boohoo. I don't look like that person so welp, they must have an ED!"
I personally admire more muscular women but struggle to gain muscle myself. I don't assume: "Well *I* struggle to put on muscle therefore they must be using steroids."
I know a lot of women that have a stockier build than I do and they put in the dang work to look like that.
Great Video ❤️
(Btw I hope my english is okay...)
What a good friend you are. Keep advocating for her and supporting her❤
Way to clap back!

I really apprecciate this type of content because helps people to understand how skinny bodies works and teach them that all bodies are different and need respect as well.
this is the first video I've seen that ACTUALLY inspired me to try and pursue recovery. thank you, Zoe
the point of this video has become the same as every other, it's all "I'm skinny yet i eat tons" smh
I feel you
this video is pure torture, but for some reason I couldn't help but watch all the way through(
The moment I stop counting every calorie, I gain weight.
@@beraud602maybe you just eat too much
Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s also a studied medical fact.
Your hair is so so beautiful- so happy for the new video definitely made my day 🫶🏻
Zoe, thank you so much, I’ve been skinny shamed by my own family, I hope one day to be as ripped as you, not skinny lol!
I find it so funny how this Channel is so contradicting, I can tell your audience is young and you put Yourself as a rôle model and à influencer the marketing is on point ,
4:43 she's not big here?
This one right here!!
i’ve always been quite skinny (purely genetics, as I eat as much as the grown men in my family) and i’ve always been so shamed for it, specially in high school, guys telling me i needed more curves to be attractive, teachers being “concerned” about my health (in front of the whole class), receiving the eat a burger comment a thousand times, friends accusing me of being secretly anorexic, never finding clothes that fit me etccc people are extremely cruel if you’re out of the ordinary skinny, it’s not an advantage at all lol
it’s so nice to have a youtube channel talking realistically about health instead of just trying to sell exercise programs or diets :,) (not that there’s anything wrong with wanting to monetize your passion, but it does make it a lil harder to trust what they say from the outside looking in.) thank you man. you are the bomb diggity
W working on recovery, gl with getting healthier
Even if I have eating disorders or any other deficiency, I just want to be skinny.
honestly, as someone who has (failed recovery, thus present simple) a restrictive eating disorder, now that im at my lowest and im constantly being skinny shamed, my mind tells me "yehh you're doing great" , it tells me to take skinny shaming as a compliment, and that's due to the overwhelming fatshaming i have received since i was like 6, this isn't me trying to downplay skinny women's pain, im just trying to give other people a greater view of eating disorders and how many (ex or nyn) non skinny women view skinny shaming as a goal, it's a very messed up case because i truly feel ashamed of my disorder

I observed the same, hence tapped out of her updates ! Influencers get influenced with weird video topics after getting famous sometimes😅😂
Can you please give me some advise. I've a B.E.D. and I wanna quit those foods which *tastes* sweet. Please help me out!🥺
I am trying to fix my relationship with food and your videos are helping me a lot. Tysm

who tf gives disgusted looks over someone saying they do intermittent fasting?😅💀 I hope you can get rid of those people in your life.

It's sad that people continue to assume someone's eating habits based on their appearance.
As a guy it's even worse, I've been skinny-shamed quite literally my whole life now, yesterday itself a classmate was asking me if I "don't eat anything" like 💀
your mindset is so refreshing Zoe
I’m pretty sure a lot of the whole “she must starve” thing is because people don’t really have much knowledge on actual health and gaining/ loosing weight. I used to think super skinny girls also needed to eat or that they were anorexic until now because my best friend is really tall and very thin and she struggles with actually gaining weight which is what she’s told to do. It’s just the same as for me, a curvier person struggles with loosing weight. I ended up loosing 30 pounds after being pretty overweight (i did it healthily for over a year) and since now ive been pretty slim and have alos been told to eat more👁👄👁 after all that hard work and dedication like bro theres no safe point in this
You literally were never fat you were like a bmi 20 maximum at that point gurl
thank you! finally someone said it. she clearly Was blessed by the genetic lottery because even when she was throwing down those cupcakes and gained the slightest amount of weight (like literally 2 grams of fat on her skinny stomach) it made her look still extremely slim but honestly healthier than rn..
even when I lost 20 pounds due to incredibly strict dieting and an eating disorder and later due to a chronic gastric illness, I've never been as thin as her.
I've never even been overweight per se, just slightly chubby and ruthlessly shamed for it since childhood to the point that I'll have trauma, trust/ intimacy issues for the rest of my life. the only culture where skinniness is mocked in a similar way is African and that's about it, everywhere else slim to extremely slim figures are preferred.
im so impressed by her aesthetic little shots throughout the vid
It’s hard to believe she doesn’t have a fast metabolism eating all that
Why? I do, I’m in my 60s. It’s genetic.
I could neverrrrr look her way of skinny, no matter what I did
I love this channel soooo much bc Zoe is so honest 🙂
Skinny shaming is real and fat shaming is too , one is not more important to not support then the other.❤ los amo , gracias por los videos 😊
your honesty literally rescues me
There's so much resentment going on from people who are not skinny.
It wouldn't be a true zoe video without the sirens tho
Finally someone speaks facts. Gurl I can relate, Skinny shaming is real. Especially when ur a tall skinny girl
omfg yes. I'm not even close to underweight yet I'm being told to gain weight like dude I'm 5'7!!
The thing is picking what suits us the best and sticking to it with realistic expectations.
u made my day. thank you so much ! this content was so useful to me. i was so obsessed about my weight that i was starving my self had low energy during the day till i got the weight i desired but when i did i wasn't happy . it was not worth it
Omg just recently what this kind of video, and I KNEW it would be THE perfect topic for you
Preach Zoe!!! Louder for the ones in the back. 🙏🙏
going to the gym helped me recover from my ed, i started seeing food as fuel, my metabolism now is so good compared to the past and i eat almost whatever i want (tho i try to stick to healthy food with high protein))) tryna become a muscle mummy now instead of sickly skinny
Conversely I know women who will forever be overweight due to thyroid and hormonal issues.
basically, work out and eat in moderation. saved you 10 minutes
I'd say that a BMI between 18 and 20 is more on the skinny side. When we reach 25 we are officially overweight. There won't be that much of a difference between the appearance of someone at 24 and 25, even if you are officially healthy. (not taking into consideration fat percentage in body)
Nah, #1 is pointedly false. There are very many anorexic people who look athletic/healthy/“normal”. Ridiculous.
zoee your fitness & health videos are just my favorite!! they motivate me soo much to have a healthier lifestyle:))
I'm glad she debunked some misconceptions with being skinny. Right now I'm exercising to lose weight but I've been a bit nervous about losing too much weight becuse all over my TH-cam shorts is skinny girls talk about is their terrible experience with being skinny.
Frrr girl as someone who's skinny ppl say "ohh just eat girl" nahh bro I'm eating no need to say it-
Tbh I really like her.
Can you please talk about the mindset of healthy people
I don't want to live in a wheelchair for my bad habits
That's mine
im sorry but you say one thing but do another. your old videos are chalk full of trends of diets.. but you havent deleted theem or at least made a disclaimer and stopped moneytizing over them. teens can still see those toxic mindesets and follow them. i have unsubscribed due to this and many have also.
thank you very much! this video helps me to keep fit without dieting or starving. sometimes it’s hard, sometimes I feel helpless, but thankful to such video, I keep moving on my own path.

Thank you for all your good advice.
For my whole life my BMI was never over 21, but as a teenager i was fat shamed because of my chubby face, big hips and belly. I still can’t see myself as skinny person because of that
So you don’t restrict but yet you cut out sugar for a year?
No longer restrict
Being thin is a blessing, no one should make you feel bad about it
Okk she is right...
