My mother upgraded her phone to the new iPhone 16+ from her iPhone Xs Max. I have an iPhone 15 Pro 256GB variant from last year and I have to say that it is a pretty good looking phone and not to add how light it is. The 60hz definitely not really as poor as people in the tech community make it out to be and I’d even have the refresh rate disable on my device to 60Hz from time to time to save power. Also, not to mention how much bigger the size of the CAMERA bump compared to the XS Max.
I also upgraded from the xs max to 16+ and I’m noticing such a vast difference between the both especially in battery life and I’m loving my experience with it. The camera button is also kinda cool
Because people will still choose to pay more for ProMotion models even if their 60Hz displays are almost as good and lots of them can't even tell the difference anyway.

I got the 16 plus in ultramarine. I absolutely love it and it is noticeably lighter than the 13 Pro Max I traded in for it. Apple gave me 400 bucks in trade. Happy as hell.
I’ve only had my 16 plus for a couple days now but I did upgrade from a 13 that finally died after a year of life support and I love it. It’s honestly similar to my 13 just obviously bigger screen, way better battery life and the screen not freezing up or lagging is a huge plus. I don’t rlly care much for the cameras on phones in general cos I use handheld cameras but the camera button is a nice touch !
I just upgraded a few days ago from a sierra blue 13 pro 256gb to a white 16 plus 512gb. On the daily I watch TH-cam and scroll on Reddit. For work I type notes on my phone. So far I’m in love. ive had my XR since 2019 and prior to that had the 7 PLUS and missed it so much !! I bought the 16 PLUS and its good enough as i use it more for gaming rather than photos :D
I get that people rush to comment it’s 60Hz when watching a video for a phone they’d never buy. Not to mention it’s not geared to them. There were over 500 phones released last year on Android. Apple released 4. So why on God’s green earth would they put 120Hz on their base model, which would essentially ruin sales for their pro line? Their customers clearly don’t care
See… you get it! There’s a lot of non tech heads that don’t care about 60Hz. I’ve asked multiple friends who aren’t techy and they honestly couldn’t tell.
@@HeyMarkL thank you! Sadly the tech TH-cam space has become an echo chamber. You could list 50 new things that’s different, yet they still focus on the shape of the phone. In fact, almost so iconic that the s24 and pixel 9 were released with a very similar design language. Thank you for not being part of the echo chamber.
While I generally agree with your comment, the issue here is that to anyone coming off a phone with a higher refresh rate the 60hz feeling can feel like a massive downgrade. I understand that they need to make the Pro models worth it, but paying a couple extra hundred bucks JUST to get a phone that doesn't feel sluggish in comparison to the 60hz feel, is a bit silly, especially when there's 200$ androids nailing 90hz just fine The 120hz vs 60hz is like the sole reason I went for Pro instead of Plus, even though the Plus would have been just fine, simply because I could feel a massive difference while trying out both phones at the store, especially a noteworthy downgrade from my relatively cheap OnePlus 90hz display compared to the 60hz 1000$+ Apple display Surely, there are other things Apple could have done to justify upgrading to a Pro model, other than the one thing every other company is nailing just fine even at really low budget phones
@@Himathyyy That's fine, it's still a valid complaint to have about the phone As someone who had a 90hz phone before, going back to 60hz is unironically a downgrade, regardless of any other spec associated with the phone, because the phone just naturally feels slower

However, my mom is begging me to get the Pro Max, I was like, "No way am I getting the Pro Max! It's way too big and out of budget!" How should I convince her and the family that the Plus is better than the Pro Max?
I agree. 60 hertz saves power vs using 120 hertz. It's probably why it's set to 60 hertz already. On my Pixel 7 I can go to 90 hertz but prefer longer Battery power.
Camera bump design wise, it depends, generally I prefer the square layout of the 16 pro But if it was a choice of the 16s oval and the 15s square, definitely prefer the oval. There is something about the 15s camera design that I just don't like, the 15s camera's just stand out too much and I don't like it.
Too big. I think the 11 pro max with its 6.5 inch screen was the prefect size but now I feel the bezels are too thick on it. If only I can get a 6.5 inch screen with smaller bezels and pro motion display and an unbreakable kind of material on the back, with no protruding camera lenses that would be awesome. Doesn’t need to be a Samsung flashy copycat in appearance. I’d rather it work the way it’s supposed too and get the job done. Make calls and social media and a decent camera with decent speakers or use my AirPods is all I truly need! Take a great shots of Minneapolis/st Paul area is all I need. All this extra stuff is cool but I don’t even use it now with my pro max.. granted others do and I know it’s marketed for that. This is the first time I’d be ok with a plus but I lose the max’s higher trade in value if I downgrade.

“Pro Enough” with 60hz 💀😭
That’s the only major difference that people care about, so if they added 120hz to the plus then nobody would buy the pro or pro max.
60hz display 😂😂😂 almost perfect 😂😂😂😂, apple boy , നിനക്ക് ഒന്നും അറിയില്ലല്ലോ ... കൊച്ചുകള്ളാ...
60 Hz and you call it pro enough
Sales show that as well…. It seems these days people literally just love to complain about the refresh rate when the reality is the difference is quite minimal to most people’s eyes. Seems like it’s just the latest thing people have picked to complain about
@@UKPtrkin reality non tech nerds (which is like 90% of phone buyers) don’t give a shit about the refresh rate and probably have no idea what that even means.
You’re either paid by Apple or are very easy to please £799 for 60hz doesn’t sound perfect, I would advise buyers to tell Apple to go and do one
some people don’t mind 60hz, most people actually
I honestly don’t care about the refresh rate
I bought this phone and don’t care about refresh rate.
