I live here in Canada B.C. We get a lot of rain, wind, and lightning. My favorite, is whenever the power would go out and my mom would order Chinese food. And when it arrived, we would all be sitting around the dimly lit candles as we listened to the rain. Ugh such great memories. I miss it.

I just woke up from a wonderfully warm and comfortable nights sleep. Thank you Ambient for sharing this. My wish is that everyone everywhere had a warm safe space to lay their head at night. I am so grateful, and you should be to, if you have this most basic need met of shelter and warmth. I decided as soon as i woke up this morning that I'm going to round up all the extra blankets and pillows in my home, and go personally donate them to the homeless in my neighborhood. Thousands die worldwide each year from hypothermia, they die from something so easily prevented. Winter is coming! Anybody else want to commit to donating a blanket or two!? You can also take them to your local shelter or charity. I hope each and every one of you that reads this has a peaceful, comfortable, wonderful night of sleep! This reminds me of when I was younger, my grandfather and I would sit on his porch and watch the storm pass by. It was a screen porch so some rain got through, but it was always so relaxing to sit there with my family during the storm on the porch and talk.

Ugh this is amazing soon as i get home from work i flip to this and get cozy and just smile immediately. My body hurts so bad and im exhausted all the time but this makes it go away for a few hours while i sleep deep.
As you stand at your window, looking out into dark night, the rain starts pouring and the wind send shivers down your spine and you feel the cool air on your face.....suddenly your pores are raised as the thunder roars loudly and lights up the night sky....makes me wish I was somewhere far far away, like a log cabin on the mountain top, overlooking the ocean.

A child in the 60s sitting, reading …. settled into an old sofa on a screen-lined porch, an old-south veranda looking southward across the mighty Mississippi. The constant peal of thunder rolled its own music across the sky while the rain loved the earth and the lightning was close enough at times you could hear the air sizzle. The silhouette of huge limbs from old pecan trees crossed high above. The flash-booms would have been hair-raising, had I had any.... Just a kid, serenaded by the might of the Almighty...a kid could read/listen for hours from the security of that porch.... This recording is very reminiscent of those times....

Great, isn't it? I grew up not 2 miles from the ocean so I've seen it in all it's glory and anger too. Nothing like it. My grandparents lived in a farmhouse about 100mi. from the shore where I spent summers and I loved LOVED the farm, but oh that ocean! Hope you get to see it many times more!

Back years ago I remember when I would sit on the porch in silence. My Mother and Stepfather beside me, my little brothers and dogs. All of us together. Would sit in silence and listens to the sound of storms. The wind, the rain. There was no yelling, no fighting, no screeches, squeaks, cries, barks or squabbles. Just life. It's been a few years since I felt that kind of peace.

This soothes my mind so much. Thank you so much for making this. I stay in an apartment style dorm where my housemates are always loud and borderline inconsiderate. After a long day of classes and working part time, I just want to go home and take a hot shower and cuddle under my blankets, hearing this as I drift off to sleep...once again, thank you so much for this. I like how clear and surreal this sounds compared to others that can sound a little fuzzy and static-iy.
I love the sound of rain and thunder when I'm trying to sleep. That's one reason I love summer so much. In Louisiana it rains a lot and it puts me in this blissful and peaceful state of mind and I just forget everything. I could pop popcorn and watch a movie with a thunderstorm in the background and I would be wrapped up in a blanket and I would be fine. Does anyone else feel that way or am I being insanely nostalgic?😂😂

I think I may have found my sleeper!!! The rain doesn't sound like annoying static, and the thunder is perfect.
Listening to this keeps my mind off of things calms me down helps my anxiety go away I really like it

Hippie Girl here, I love listening to these thunderstorms ⛈️⚡. I love it when it comes a big storm and I'm snuggled up with my hubby so warm and cozy with a warm fire next to us. I will turn this on at bed time and we immediately get snuggled in bed and in no time we're off to dream land. I was struck by lightning before. I was 8 years old, August 11th 1990, it was in Auburn, NY (where I'm from) at Casey Park (for anyone familiar with Auburn) I live in Phoenix, AZ now. The heel of my right foot and the elbow of my right arm. Top 4 questions answered: 1: I don't remember if it hurt, I was unconscious immediately after, my right side of my body felt like it feels when your foot falls asleep (for like 6 hours afterwards) 2: It left burn marks, the scars have faded a lot, all these years later. 3: No permanent damage. 4: No, unfortunately I don't have super powers as a result. 🌩😨

Well, he moved to Phoenix Arizona, where Monsoon storms will kill you in 100 different ways. Not sure he wasn't damaged permanently. Looks like he is following the path of storms.

Im from California in Los Angeles's and we never get rain here, i dream and hope for rainy days , even tho they are dangerous with our crazy traffic, but mann i wish it rained 5 days out of 7 🥰 I love to draw and drink coffee by a window and desk lamp. I love this sound so much. I’ve been really stressed lately so I decided to put this on and it’s already helping.
this keeps my dog and cat wanting to stay in their beds so i can get cleaning done. if asked "outside"? they dive deeper under their blankets and hide from me _ they hate the rain_ its soothing. Now, if only we could mimic the smell too 🌝☔...
