Hello. Can you try on a spool with a long axle from hakai to this reel, if you remove the plastic sleeve from the pinion, will it work and be slowed down by spool tension knob? How do you like the reel in work compared to the hakai?
How about doing a cast battle between 16 aldebaran bfs with avail spool vs 15 aldebaran with avail spool with the sentifugal brake? I think i have never seen a casting video with a real lightweight spool equipped with sentrifugal brake...
I've got my Hakai (let's call it Gen 1) about four weeks ago and it's pretty good. I would definetly recommend it. And I appreciate that Okuma gives it so much attention that it got an upgrade of a really good first model just half a year later. BUT I think the new one looks way worse. The Gen 1 looks sleek and a little stealthy. Just good looking understatement. And it fits easily any rod. On the other hand the new one looks kind of cheap. The handle and knobs looks like all the handles and knobs from aliexpress. I don't think that they are but they look like it. Colorwise it's too much going on. Sorry, but I wouldn't buy the new one because of this. But it's okay. I love my "original" Gen 1 and wouldn't replace it with this new one... Good video tho ;)
I have to agree I'm going to purchase the all black hakai. All my setups are all black pretty much. I do however own a Okuma Cortez baitcaster that has similar colors but its gunmetal instead of silver. I just purchased the Okuma halogen, still waiting on it pairing it with either a daiwa laguna 7' or daiwa aird-x 7' medium and 7'3 medheavy.

Do you have the new Conquest 100HG? I bought one and have been very impressed. The only other Shimano casting reel I have is a Chronarch MGL... I could replace every reel I have with this new Conquest. Same goes for the new Zillion, but the Conquest 2021 is something special.

Okuma in general is under valued. I've personally had loads of okuma reels over the reels and not a single complaint that I can remember
These Hakai reels look like an entirely different generation of reels vs their old stuff. Alot more up to date

I noticed centrifugal breaks require less snap to cast. Just depends on how you like casting or what you are better with.
