    I find the ski hatch handy for acoustic guitar/ case. Load it straight in, have space then either side. Wife picking up rav4 hybrid this week. This video was really helpful. Got a lot from the review. Thank you

    Good review once again sir hats off to you so you prefer this to the Honda CR-V ?

      Honda feels a little more luxurious inside both great options though

    I don’t use it as an actual ski hatch but do find that hatch useful for long narrow items without having to put down the seats. Nice to see your subs moving up.

      Wish more had the pass through. Super useful for hockey sticks in Canada.

    Great reviews really enjoy the videos so far. Would you go for this or the skoda karoq?

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Karoq would be a bit smaller and a good deal cheaper so it would be hard to compare. The Kodiaq would be more in line with the RAV.

    Looking at buying one. Is the rav4 really that heavy on petrol (9.4L/100km)? Seems seriously heavy on juice. Local Toyota dealer told me it would be 6.1-6.5 on average

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Think I just had a thirsty one, seems to do 5.5L in other Toyotas I’ve had since

      @@NobbyOnCars thanks very much. I was kinda stuck between a Kuga Stline X diesel or a Rav4. Think I’ll go with the Rav as it also has a bigger boot.

    I have the same model but with Panoramic roof which really lightens the interior and I don’t know what driving you did, but my fuel consumption averages 45/46mpg. Overall hard to fault the car 👍

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure what the story was with the consumption but yes, normally 5L/100kms is achieved

    If you were to run out of petrol, would the electric motor still work and get you to a petrol station?

    Haven't had the chance in owning a hybrid car. Are their PMS cost more compared to regular cars?

    Seems to best value and spec against its competitors. Thinking of getting one but concerned they will have a redesign soon enough. I can’t see anything online.

  • @neilndebs

    If my maths are correct 9.7l per hundred kilometres equates to 29ish mpg.
    It’s difficult to tell unless the two cars are being driven back to back, but I think my Skoda Kodiaq 1.4tsi, 4x4, with 7 seats and a DSG gearbox would at least match that or probably beat it!
    Great review though Nobby.

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct on the fuel conversion. My driving was very much city based, only one trip on the M50. Those TSI engines are so tried and tested.

    Better than the Honda CRV hybrid?

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Qasim Ansari I think the CR-V could be a little easier on fuel but I’ve only driven the Honda for 20 minutes, I have one for a week in August. Build quality both very similar. I need that full week to properly call it!

      @@NobbyOnCars Cheers for the quick reply. I am curious to know what you think after a more thorough test. I drove the petrol CRV and loved it. RAV 4 was also excellent but the Honda offers more family practicalities. Curious about the hybrid though.

    • @thanoscy

      CRV doesn't have spare wheel. RAV4 more noisy and worst suspensions. Price similar.

      2019 rav4 hybrid is rated for 40 US MPG (6.1L/100km) combined which is by far class leading in northern America. Not sure what different compact suvs are available in Europe but in North America this is insanely good fuel economy.
