Where did May go?? Can't believe its already June guys! Happy pride month to everyone, we kind of wish we had a more colorful vehicle to upload today but the RAV4 Hybrid has been one of the most requested videos this year so we hope you enjoy! We call this the most gas efficient SUV in America because at 40 MPG combined, nothing else that uses petrol really matches it at the moment. The upcoming 2020 Escape Hybrid should be close, but at the moment, this is the best and even outdoes the diesel offerings from GM and Mazda. Props to Toyota for such impressive numbers on the RAV4 Hybrid, it is definitely much improved over the non-hybrid and the previous generation!
Just bought one this past weekend. It is our first hybrid vehicle. At first it took a little time to get used to the start up of the vehicle. Now we rock n roll. I believe we are going to love this vehicle.
Alex, we just purchased a hybrid a week ago and I was surprised when I noticed I was going 83 mph on the interstate. Nice quiet ride. 41.8 mpg driving 80 mph on the interstate is pretty darn amazing for an AWD SUV. Under the hood there is insulation and the tire wells are insulated. Gas version has no insulation under the hood.
Is the cvt really revvy cvt like....have they made the cvt in this more tuned so it’s not all over the place? Is it smooth? Also do they have a plugin for the battery at all to pre charge it?
I bought the new 2019 rav 4 hybrid and it saved my fiance a van ran a red light at 60mph hit us head on basically as we made a left all airbags deployed I went unconscious but she was unharmed thank God. I'm glad I purchased it and after it was totalled bought another one. Great gas looks good awd and safe. I love this vehicle Toyota keeps it up they are all I will buy
This is my first time watching one of your reviews. I am the owner of a 2019 RAV4 Limited hybrid. You gave us excellent insight to this vehicle and pointed out many of the reasons I love my RAV4 hybrid.
Getting around 40-60 mpg. I do a lot of highway driving in New York, the highest I have gotten was 52 mpg, note* I do drive 1 hour and 30 minutes. I love how it’s faster than the gas model, it is also quieter, and also very good looking car! The reliability and dependability is also awesome!
Worrywart well I have had RAV4 Hybrids before so I know Toyota did a great job on the new RAV4. I know they don’t disappoint. I also have a Lexus RX Hybrid which I also love! I have never had any problems with Toyota hybrids.
Test drove both the gas and hybrid version and it really is a no brainer. The hybrid accelerates quicker and has less road noise. The gas 8 speed transmission is constantly shifting and in eco it is pronounced from gear to gear. Not a pleasant ride and at freeway speeds in the gas version you may as well turn off the radio. I will not be surprised if the hybrid out sells the gas Picked up the hybrid XLE with the convenience package in white. $30,707 out-the-door. Summer sales are slow so salespersons will deal and Toyota is offering a $1,250 rebate if you finance through Toyota Financial Services. If you have excellent credit you can get 3.9 % for 60 months and 4.4% for 72 months. If your credit is average you may want to refinance after you receive your first bill at a credit union because average credit using Toyota Financial Services will be 5.25% or higher.
How do you like your hybrid? I wanted to get one but a lot of people are complaining about the fuel tank. I heard you can only fill it 3/4 of the way full before it stops pumping gas.
I REALLY like this car, but 42,000 out the door with taxes is INSANE! I'm going to buy a fully loaded Forester out the door for 31k. Can't justify the 11k difference for 7-8 more miles to the gallon
This is a such a good review. Thank you for the details, and especially for continuously comparing it to the competition throughout, all of which my wife and I have been considering for our next vehicle. Would love to see a review of the limited version if possible; nonetheless, this review is extremely helpful. Thank you!
This is the best compact SUV ever made. $28k, 40 MPG, AWD is standard, top safety scores, 219 hp... if anyone can try and beat those numbers, please do. Considering everything, I dont think anything else can hang.
I don’t understand why people complain about cars not having navigation when they have Apple car play and android auto.... They need to offer a led turn signal option! Also the shelf in my rav4 gen is better since it has a door! I’m able to have stuff inside it!
Itell you why ..personally it's a work car, and the infotainment system ( albeit i may need to update it ) is shockingly bad, so you need it....try using the voice commands it's laughable
Because apple carplay still uses your phone signal if you are driving on a dead zone goodbye your navigation that's why and remember car factory navigation connect via satellite instead of cellphones that connect via towers
Please show the hybrid system monitor display during your test drives of hybrids! We hybrid-technology geeks want to know what's going on under the hood...
TheLittleAcura aka A-SPEC! I feel your pain, I rented a Prius once and I was watching that consistently, and my friend has one and I look at it when I use hers
It is funny how much he dislikes Toyota/Lexus cars. In his comparison with the cx5, he will shit on the rav4 on a lot of features and went on to say "cx5 definitely is better than the Rav4 " or "cx5 has this, and rav4 doesn't".... NOW, even in this new Rav4 where backseat legroom is more than the cx5, he stills refused to say that Rav4 has more legroom than the cx5. he just refused to say it on carmera. Instead he said this new Rav4 legroom is reduced compare to the previous gen rav4.... Bro, no offense, but why can't you use say something nice about Toyota products. Afterall, they are the most popular brand in this world! Gives the credit to where it's due
I think Toyotas are boring & I would never buy an SUV unless I had children or was obese and disabled. I think mileage and reliability are Toyotas best qualifies, not sure about newer cars that are filled with computer gimmicks. I'm in my 20s, forever sports car/sedan person.
̈ ̈ No one wants you to share your opinion because no one cares about it...Maybe you should share that opinion at home with your family if you have either OR get an imaginary friend because nobody cares :)
@@Lucky8s "lasting" has to do with drivetrain, and toyota has always been good with electronics, so either way you look at it, Toyota will last longer than the Jeep
Hybrid rav is just amazing, driving it for over 2 months now and I really liked it. Noise is not that bad as lots of people claiming. I get about 5.1l/100km. For $45CAD gas I make over 750km.
When it comes to fog lights, they’re not there to increase lighting. They’re there to cut through fog. For that, the yellower the light, the better, and the more diffused the light, the better, so LEDs are fine, but only if they’re yellow and diffused. Otherwise you’re better off with the incandescent bulbs. Also, a correction on the engine: the 2.5 comes with direct and port injection. It’s an important caveat because this type of engine is rare and eliminates the carbon build-up issues that all direct injection engines have. Finally, a correction on the transmission: It does not have a CVT transmission. It has what’s called an eCVT transmission. Those are entirely different than your regular CVTs. They don’t have comes and pulleys and belts/chains. They work with planetary gears. Very reliable. Also, the CX5 Turbo has been clocked with a slightly (less than 1 second difference) slower 0-60mph than this Rav4 Hybrid.
I think you mean slightly lower (not slower) both Alex on Autos and Car and Driver puts the CX5 Turbo at 6.2 seconds. I've driven both, and the CX5 turbo pulls a LOT harder probably due to having 300 lb feet of torque.
17:15 Toyota set this up right. The mainstream buyer really wants Transformer looks but a soft suspension This has worked like a charm with their Lexus crossovers.
I just test drove the Hybrid RAV4 this morning and it was a pleasant driver. Power was more than adequate and cabin noise was well controlled. One major downside is that I couldn't get enough headroom on the passenger seat with the moon roof option. I'm 5'10 (180cm) and my head was touching the roof. Almost perfect.
@@JJustinXu Maybe, but we can't get that option in Canada so I can't confirm. The RAV4 is a really enticing car, but for my needs, I'd have to get it without the moon roof.
Thank you for reviewing the Hybrid version! I own a v6 Rav4 and have struggled to find anything to replace it with. I love the pep of my v6, but admittedly feel guilty about the gas mileage. I was eyeing the 2020 Outback with the turbo engine, but have concerns about the reliability... and the MPG isn't great on those either. The Hybrid Rav4 seems to be the best compromise on the market today; good enough acceleration and AMAZING fuel efficiency for a compact SUV. I think I'll wait for the 2020 model, in the hope that they address the common complaint of engine noise in the cabin.
This video made me bought 2019 rav4 XSE in 2019 as my first car, and 2 years later im still loving my car!! It drove reallly nice on Sports Mode and it’s addicting. I have 34,000 miles on it and i just change the tires because i basically abused the tires (sports mode most of the time and i drove it in mountain road terrain)... it had about 34.5 mpg before changing the tires. Now that i change to the new tires its coming back up to 38.7 mpg. The only down side to this car, is the gas tank....you can also search it online. Sometimes it doesnt want me to put in the full gas tank? Butt its still a reallly nice car!!
I still sometimes see 83 to 86 Camrys, 83 to 86 Tercels, and 84 to 87 Corollas on the road where I live, and there is a lot of salt here in the winter. I literally just yesterday saw a 85 or 86 beige Toyota Camry hacthback. I see many old Honda's too. No wonder some people would not go back to the big American 3 automakers.
Great Review. This is one of the most positive Toyota reviews I have ever seen Sofyan give. Wow. I just wish you could get the white roof option like the gas Adventure models.
I think Toyotas are boring & I would never buy an SUV unless I had children or was obese and disabled. I think mileage and reliability are Toyotas best qualifies, not sure about newer cars that are filled with computer gimmicks.
@@DigitalDissident I'm single, not obese or disabled and enjoy SUVs cargo room for camping, trips to mountains, mild off roading, shopping, mountain biking, skiing, yard work. Cars are too small for this and trucks are too big with much poorer fuel economy.
@@James-rd9mo I only care about speed, weight reduction, & handling because I enjoy driving & live in Germany. At least you use your SUV as intended if you do a lot outdoors & travel often. I had a friend who's Jeep broke, he got another one that was FWD with a four cylinder... When I asked him why he wanted an SUV with the same power train setup as my old Passat he said, "because I can fit all my stuff (junk) into it. Meanwhile, I was able to put all his stuff in my sedan when I drove him to the dealership.
I just bought the XSE with all of these add-ons in white. They are so popular around here that I have to wait up to 2 months before I actually get the car though...
Yes, the engine noise under acceleration is bland. Essentially, the engine chooses one RPM and holds it. But for good reason. Max acceleration is best accomplished at peak horsepower. That is one of the best qualities of a CVT. Put the engine at peak horsepower, then continually vary the gear ratio. I have a 2012 Camry Hybrid and love it. On 2 lane roads, I rarely pull in from passing someone doing less than 80 mph. The new Rav4 Hybrid is definitely on my radar for my next vehicle.
Never thought of getting a Toyota, I was stuck on Honda but decided to glance at Toyota and I'm sold,I own a 2011 Equinox and Will make the switch soon,I will never buy an American vehicle again is all I'm saying.
1971 HemiCuda i know what you mean. I’m actually sick of seeing the Toyota logo everywhere I go... but it’s a no brainer if you want the ultimate reliability and gas efficiency money can buy. They blew things out the park this year.
You forgot one very important thing probably after 100, 000 miles the Mazda will definitely fall apart before you pay it off. But the Rav4 will drive well past 200,000 miles and more.
@@iseeu2002 Bc the NX is a joke and a badge engineered vehicle. It rides on the old MC platform and not the new TNGA-K. It is also more expensive and smaller. The NX only gets 33/30 mpg vs the Rav's 41/38 mpg.
Toyota nailed this. Only complaint, is I think toyota should have done the xse version as an appearance package, available on the limited trim. It's a shame you can get a few of the extras on the xse right now, like memory seats, etc..
The Mazda CX-5 is not even close to sales numbers or reliabilty. Your just another reviewer who is all about power and acceleration. The majority of people don’t care about that. They want a reliable, comfortable SUV that will last for many years. Toyota is good at that. I’ve already seen many of these new RAV4s on the road and with new dealer plates. Just like the generations before, this RAV4 will outsell the competition.
I think Toyotas are boring & I would never buy an SUV unless I had children or was obese and disabled. I think mileage and reliability are Toyotas best qualifies, not sure about newer cars that are filled with computer crap.
@@DigitalDissident It certainly isn't anything exciting, but the SUV/crossover has served a lot of people well with their practicality. As far as computers, yeah, I can see plenty of gripes there. I do enjoy driving vehicles that don't "assist" me with driving; that is my job as a responsible driver to pay attention and stay safe behind the wheel.
This Rav4 is really good looking. I never liked it at launch. But now it's starting to come together in the looks aspect and having acceptable power, AWD as well as top of the class efficiency makes this the one to have. Toyota would only have to come up with a TRD version of this to take on the Mazda CX5
Thanks for the comprehensive review. We've put down a deposit on this car. Did a test drive on CRV and Mazda CX5. The CRV looks like a big, metal support pillow but drove very well. And quiet. The Mazda drove well and great pickup but somehow felt insubstantial. Drove the 2019 Subaru (quiet / smooth ) but with the redesign 2020 coming out not the best for resale. The RAV4 hybrid has a nice ride. Just like you I wish the engine had some sound dampening added. Still trying to make a decision when the lease on our Subaru Outback ends in three weeks.
Am deciding also between Mazda cx5 GTR or this rav 4...Mazda is smoother, turbocharged w/ A/Android play, but less gas efficiency. Both has great reliability but Toyota is well known in that. Tough choice.
I would say go for the Rav, bigger than CR-v and CX5. Almost driving dynamics of CX-5, with better ride comfort and noise level cancellation than the CR-V, I feel it's a win-win situation. But it all comes down to preference
Toyota continues to investigate an issue that can prevent drivers of its top-selling U.S. hybrid, the 2019-2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, from filling their tank up completely. The issue, which was first reported by Automotive News back in December, was identified by a wide range of complaints from various sources-including several logged at NHTSA’s vehicle safety site-alleging that even though the fuel-tank capacity is listed at 14.5 gallons the tank won’t accept more than 9 or 10 gallons. One owner, for instance, reported that while they might be able to add fuel very slowly beyond that point, to avoid the environmental risks of “topping off” they don’t have access to about 200 miles of the vehicle’s 580-mile rated range. All evidence so far-including what Toyota has volunteered-points to an issue potentially related to the shape of the tank, which went to a different, longitudinal saddle design with the RAV4 Hybrid’s 2019 redesign, when it made major efficiency gains to an EPA combined 40 mpg.
He did a video when this first came last year out and it got almost 3 Million views, so I was expecting a remix Looks great with the contrasting roof, tinted windows and black wheels
Asking for suggestions/recommendations: my RAV4 hybrid Limited 2019 mpg is at best 32 mpg. In winter 28 mph. I live in Anchorage, Alaska and gar is in heated garage when home. Fuel tank capacity is only 11 gallons. The local dealer did fuel diagnostics and presumably changed the fuel tank. However, nothing changed. I still fill max 11.1 gln and fuel efficiency is still 31-32 mpg. What else can be done? Was hoping to get a fuel efficiency of at least 36 mpg. Thanks.
Sure the turbocharged entries in the segment may be more fun to drive and more dynamic, but what most reviewers seems to disregard is that fact that a turbo engine will NEVER be as reliable as a naturally aspirated engine.
And you guys figure the hybrid will be less reliable then the non hybrid..... how did you come up with that conclusion??? Both are hands down more reliable then a turbo engine car/suv for sure
@@henryhonda8408 yes they're both reliable but the hybrid batteries are not designed to last forever... just like any other battery they have a cycle of how many times they can be charged and discharged and eventually when they fail they can cost up to 4-5k to replace
HenryHonda Because the hybrid battery can't last as long as the gasoline engine and in case the battery start having problems the engine alone cannot move the car.
Yes, they should make this one an SE, and properly make an XSE or offer an XLSE. No wait it isn't leather so it would just be XPSE and eXPEnSive. Spending nearly 40k on a RAV4 you shouldn't feel like you'r missing something!
Please discuss the gas tank issue on the hybrid specifically the fact that it won't completely fill. Completely ridiculous and unacceptable and Toyota is doing nothing about it at all. I think you and other reviewers can bring this to light and help consumers force them to address it in a meaningful way as opposed to just ignoring it and the customers.
finally Toyota delivers an SUV that actually looks good. Could be great if they can boost the battery a bit and gives the model a plug-in hybrid. With the incentive from the government, this thing will be sold off in no time
Freeway noise surprised me on the 19 rav4, my 15 Tundra is super quiet. Guessing its the extra door seals on the tundras. Not bad though just crank up the radio.
Looks nice but I keep thinking how this whole segment has gotten absurdly expensive. To spec out the higher trim Rav you’re talking over 40k without breaking a sweat. That’s Lexus ES, NX, or IS money, or an Acura RDX. Honestly if you don’t need awd then I think it’s better to have a decent sedan with winter tires and save some cash.
If you are looking for value for money, the Prius Prime currently has a $3k cashback, plus the tax credits... you'll be paying only $19k (after state and federal tax credits) for a very nice new car with incredible MPG. I'd buy one, but I actually use AWD on backroads and do a lot of driving in heavy snow... so prius low ground clearance is an issue. I've got my eye on this hybrid RAV4. 40 mpg for an SUV is awesome.
I just leased an XSE with 15,000 miles a year for a 36 month lease. I kept everything the XSE comes with but got rid of the panoramic sunroof and downgraded to moonroof also got rid of the 11 speaker system and downgraded to 6 speakers and the total cost of the vehicle dropped down to 35,600. Just with the sunroof and the 11 speakers the cost went all the way up to 39k. I can live without those 2 options for a whole lot less...
lol i cant believe there are even haters to this car. Its an all around great car for the average American family. Useful for many purposes and reliable. The numbers speak for itself. This car sells nonstop here in northern California.
Sounds a little noisy there Sofyan. There’s a lot of road noise and wind noise I’m hearing in your video. Seems like an awesome vehicle, but not as quiet as I would like.
I test drove the RAV4 Hybrid... And really it wasn't that great. Sure it's got awesome fuel economy.... But that's about it... I was expecting it to be more quiet... But as soon as you give it some pep ... The engine is thrashy.
Does anyone own one of these Rav4 hybrids? I wanted to get one but I heard there’s a problem with the fuel tank not filling up all the way. I heard it stops at around 10 gallons when the tank is around 14.
Yeah the RAV4 needs it the Escape has the 2.0L Ecoboost four cylinder with 250 hp and the Mazda CX-5 has the 250 hp 2.5L four cylinder everything else it does well it’s practical it has standard safety features it’s a good choice in the segment
Definitely. It's their best selling vehicle so it makes sense. I've driven the 4-cylinder Camry and the transmission can be very lethargic. I've heard similar complaints from owners of the new RAV4. The transmission also struggles with hard down shifts (shift shock). The V6, however, is very smooth.
With the hybrid you don’t need a v6. It’s much peppier because it combines the gas and electric engine. I’ve driven the 4 cylinder and own the hybrid XSE. Hybrid is much peppier and I cannot imagine needing more power unless I was taking steroids and needed to street race some kids down in Florida or something.
@@timfreeman7034 More power for towing would be nice. You would have issues with most teardrops with a 4 cylinder. That said, if you want to tow, buy a 4Runner or Highlander.
I'd still take a CX-5. Unless you drive a huge amount of miles the gas savings is not going to be that significant. Few hundred bucks a year. It's an over complicated system and a CVT is no good. I like Toyota and was hoping for more out of this and the new Highlander. I think Mazda is currently offering better options.
Funny, we were looking at trading in the Lexus RX350h for their UX250h model (cutting costs but keeping quality) and we end up liking the looks + interior size + price + mileage and acceleration of their RAV4 Hybrid much more! it just makes that much more sense and who cares about the badge when the company (+quality) is the same? Sure, some of the trim may not be "on par"; but, that's not too apparent, overall. And even the fully stoked "Limited" edition is cheaper than the equivalent Lexus UX250h. Toyota was right to bolster the RAV model to keep up with competition, but they may have cannibalized some of it's Lexus siblings in the process (and I'm okay with that!!) I liked how you got right to the point on everything and spoke quickly and concisely through the other vehicle comparisons you've experienced. Thanks for making our choice that much easier - excellent review, Sofyan! Cheers! Rob [small observation: correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you had it set to Sport mode, when you were doing all your acceleration testing on the highway... I believe it may have been a bit better than you experienced - I saw a "blue" dash, not "red"]
I am not seeing the fascination of this vehicle. Massachusetts must have a lot of hilly areas and some really small parking spots in the cities. The gas must be extremely expensive as well. Is that your native American name?
I'm nervous about the reliability/cost of the battery and CVT over the long term. I keep my Toyotas for 200,000 miles. Wondering how the battery replacement costs and unknown CVT reliability compares to a standard gas engine with automatic transmission. Anyone have any insights?
Why on earth would they NOT have a powered passenger seat. And NO HUD? Paying that much seems like a crime without features that are getting to be standard.
I had a 2019 RAV4 as a loaner from the dealer. I found it to be a far less comfortable car than the 2018 version. Both the center console and the armrest on the door crowd into your space. The armrest, in particular, was annoying as it is squared off at the front and was noticeably pressing on my leg. It got very uncomfortable by the end of my commute. I can't imagine driving it for a long trip. It is really disappointing to me because I like how it looks, I like the features on it and I was seriously considering getting this hybrid when it came out. After driving it for a few days it is off my list.
R D I’ve had one for three weeks and drove it from AR to GA. The right console bothered me at first too (I’m 6 ft). But I’ve learned to live with it and just scoot the seat back some to compensate. It’s literally the ONLY thing about this car that isn’t perfect.
40k is way too expensive. You can get a year old Pilot or Highlander nicely equipped for that price. Looks like I'll be waiting a year or two for a used SUV instead. By then this should be under 30k.
Great review as always. Just one comment about the noise when you floor it....I drive hybrid for about a year and most of the time I don’t have to floor it. You have to learn how to drive a hybrid and ecvt. Besides any car you floor will make a loud noise but hybrid most of the time is super quiet and that is beautiful:)
Based on your positive review with the Toyota Rav4 Hybrid XSE, I decided to shop for one. Well, two these were apparent. One, you couldn't find one on dealers lots and two, when a dealer did have one or tried a swapping with another dealer, the price was ridiculously close to sticker! One dealer gave me $500 off MSRP and acted like he was doing me a favor.
I have experience with this, unfortunately (IMHO) its not only the SPL but also the frequency at which the average and peaks are measured. Low band rumble to me is much less objectionable than higher frequencies at the same SPL level. White noise is easier on ears than sounds focused in a specific frequency range. I think this is why, despite the ubiquity of low cost SPL meters, few reviewers offer the data. Its just too subjective. You can get a simple app for your mobile device to take your own readings for comparisons sake. Maybe someone will figure out a standard thats meaningful.
At 2:58, I seriously want that beautiful blue color theme sport tuned suspension for my 2015 Scion xB, for 2” lift. It’s a gorgeous color and much better than in traditional black color coated. 😍😍😍😍😍
Hybrids are peppier than non-hybrids now. You’ll like it even more when you drive it. I’ve had this XSE for two weeks and dream about driving it when I go to sleep at night.
Does anyone know when Honda will completely redesign the CRV? I thought it was due around 2021....but they refreshed this year so I wasn’t sure if they’d totally redesign.
@@jsimmons12 Sure they do. Just got my Xse and had dealership include limited gas 19" wheels (for winter rims) then picked up 19" aftermarket rims. Rav4 looks even better now and averaging 35mpg so far.
@@James-rd9mo That's cool. What I meant is that usually a hybrid never comes with big tires, because as Fernando says above, they're worse for gas mileage, and the whole selling point of a hybrid is better MPGs.
Larger tires/rubber makes more sense on an SUV, but not larger rims. I'd actually prefer 17's to prevent damage from potholes. Some of our local streets are worse than actual offroading.
The dealerships can hardly keep these hybrids on the lot. Just checked new 2019 RAV4 listings on Autotrader...in Central Florida (Tampa Bay, Sarasota, Lakeland, Orlando, Daytona Beach, Melbourne area) there are 1086 4 cylinder ones and just 54 hybrids!

The gas 8 speed transmission is constantly shifting and in eco it is pronounced from gear to gear. Not a pleasant ride and at freeway speeds in the gas version you may as well turn off the radio.
I will not be surprised if the hybrid out sells the gas
Picked up the hybrid XLE with the convenience package in white.
I have a 2015 xle. I like how the new xle and up trims have rear ac.

Yes, the engine noise under acceleration is bland. Essentially, the engine chooses one RPM and holds it. But for good reason. Max acceleration is best accomplished at peak horsepower.
Unlike the gas RAV4, the hybrid RAV4 has sound deadening materials on the inside of the hood so it should be a bit quieter.

He did a video when this first came last year out and it got almost 3 Million views, so I was expecting a remix
Looks great with the contrasting roof, tinted windows and black wheels

Jay Patel that’s true! But the hybrid also will never be as reliable as a non hybrid car.. the battery does not last forever!
Ian Dewri so true Toyota non hybrid last forever but the hybrid will have problems after 100.000 miles

Please discuss the gas tank issue on the hybrid specifically the fact that it won't completely fill.
Completely ridiculous and unacceptable and Toyota is doing nothing about it at all.
I think you and other reviewers can bring this to light and help consumers force them to address it in a meaningful way as opposed to just ignoring it and the customers.
not everyone of them has that issue, only those with vin numbers from Japan plant, those assembled in Canada and US has no gas tank issues
finally Toyota delivers an SUV that actually looks good. Could be great if they can boost the battery a bit and gives the model a plug-in hybrid. With the incentive from the government, this thing will be sold off in no time

red32303 that is why I said Toyota should give this thing a plug-in hybrid. there is a 5k incentive in Canada for all plug in hybrids
@@red32303 the are incentives for some plug in hybrids. Toyota Prius Prime in the USA = $4500 federal credit and $2500 state credit in some markets
Yes that's what I was thinking as well. Fully loaded Limited now close to price of Highlander Hybrid XLE.

I wish they'd drop the V6 that's in the current gen Camry and Avalon in this new RAV4.
Jackie Chiles Thts why u don’t go for first year new models gotta wait couple of years for them to update the problems
With the hybrid you don’t need a v6. It’s much peppier because it combines the gas and electric engine. I’ve driven the 4 cylinder and own the hybrid XSE.
Toyota was right to bolster the RAV model to keep up with competition, but they may have cannibalized some of it's Lexus siblings in the process (and I'm okay with that!!)

12:05 there she goes again smh lmao
Based on your positive review with the Toyota Rav4 Hybrid XSE, I decided to shop for one. Well, two these were apparent. One, you couldn't find one on dealers lots and two, when a dealer did have one or tried a swapping with another dealer, the price was ridiculously close to sticker! One dealer gave me $500 off MSRP and acted like he was doing me a favor.
You need to implement dBa readings inside the car for ALL your reviews.
This I agree with
I have experience with this, unfortunately (IMHO) its not only the SPL but also the frequency at which the average and peaks are measured.
For those interested, search youtube for 50 hz tone versus 500 hz tone, play them at same SPL and see which you like better:)
This rav4 hybrid or lexus ux hybrid? Part of me want the lexus but rav4 hybrid has more cargo space. Or shall I wait for crv hybrid
I got mine 2 days ago, XSE magnetic gray. It pretty sweet
How is the gas in the cold? And how has this performed in snow,
At 2:58, I seriously want that beautiful blue color theme sport tuned suspension for my 2015 Scion xB, for 2” lift. It’s a gorgeous color and much better than in traditional black color coated. 😍😍😍😍😍
This thing is two things that I in general hate, a hybrid and a crossover. But for some reason I REALLY REALLY like this thing.
Why do you hate hybrids?
@@TheGerm24 Hate is probably a strong word. They're just not my thing.
Hybrids are peppier than non-hybrids now. You’ll like it even more when you drive it. I’ve had this XSE for two weeks and dream about driving it when I go to sleep at night.
@@timfreeman7034 Sir, I just said I really like this. Hate is probably the wrong word.
Does anyone know when Honda will completely redesign the CRV? I thought it was due around 2021....but they refreshed this year so I wasn’t sure if they’d totally redesign.
WOW. A Toyota hybrid that looks good, great gas mileage and it doesn't look bland. Just add some larger tires. Also Sofyan did you say "sammiched"? 😂
portknoxxa larger tires and hybrids don’t mix
Joseph Simmons Bigger tires mean more friction, which means worse gas mileage.
Some of our local streets are worse than actual offroading.
toyota's are the only cars i would ever actually own. resale value just doesn't go down like the rest of the manufacturers.
If the mic doesn't work.. why did you keep it?
Man, wish this video went up during Memorial Day weekend/week so I could take advantage of the end of the month rush for dealers to sell cars
There aren't really any deals to be had on the hybrid Rav4. They are selling like hotcakes.
I came for the door close test and the damped glovebox.
and that f**king felt!
35 mpg is pretty good for having a heavy foot.
