You are a melodic death metal Genius. You need a band right now! 😢

A great clear demonstration. Thanks Andy. I love the layering of drums you did on the kick drums.

This sounds phenomenal. Do the kick sounds come only from the core and metal machinery?

Yep, the Djent Kit preset should get you close to the sound I've got here

Sounds friggin’ amazing!! I know you started with an SD3 preset but your final mix sounds so much better than the out of the box preset. Any chance you could share your custom preset here?

      +1 to share preset

Piano roll all the way haha! A lot faster when going back and forth with other VST programming too. Sick stuff as always Andy!

Thanks Andy, sounds amazing! But you also managed to explain some things in a way I was able to comprehend! TIL!
I haven't ventured into the mixer and separate mics, but you inspired me, I'm gonna tighten the helmet and screw around. Wish me luck!
btw, I use the piano roll as well so high5!

Seriously, I’d be willing to pay for your modified djent preset.

This piece of music feels like Symphony X on steroids! Well done! And being a (digital) drummer myself, I also edit all my notes in the piano roll. I mean, of course I don't, I'm perfect! 😅

Ok, DO YOU SEE THAT ONE KICK DRUM WORK?!? Ok Sold, thanks Andy :P

The thing about pre programmed grooves pieced together, it can work, but only if the guitar is laid after. When its the other way around, there is always a disconnect. Getting the vst instruments to pass for real these days sound wise, is far less difficult then getting them to play 'together" and sound real.
