While that would have been cool, Hysteria gives him a LOT of room to work with. And very cool to see what he came up with to replace the iconic bass line.
I remember seeing the PianoArc at Lady Gaga's Chromatica Ball Tour a couple years ago. As a pianist myself, I was like "What the heck is that monster he's playing?!?!" It was so cool getting to see it more in action in this video and seeing what it's really capable of!
@@haxenheimer9707 I won't pretend to be a massive fan, and what I'm about to say is probably gonna make actual fan's eyes roll, but the obvious and clichéd one here is Cult of Personality (you probably already heard it, for many reasons). The tone isn't too different, and the riff not entirely dissimilar to the bass riff in Hysteria. Some other personal favourites are Behind the Sun (I hate that nobody knows it), Type (very cool riff, offbeat notes), New Jack Theme (proper 80's hair metal), and Open Letter to a Landlord (absolutely sick bassline, great ballad)
He's like the crazy, but cool Dad... as long as he's somebody else's dad. He killed it though, for not knowing the song, and coming up with his own version.
Even if has nothing to do with Hysteria, if you listen to it as a "different song" it is really an amazing take. For all the Muse widows, try to enjoy the music instead of criticizing someone who put all this effort in a short amount of time.
Definitely, musically speaking this take is out of this world, absolutely amazing. It's crazy to see how different a song can express with different instrumentations even when the beat and the voice stay the same.
This was super interesting. I could not wrap my "ears" around the timing. At times it seemed like two songs playing together with different tempos at the same time. Without a doubt talent exudes from this individual. I'm not sure it's my favorite but appreciate the experience.
This album barely charted in the US. They didn't crack the top 10 until Black Holes, and the stuff that did chart well doesn't sound massively like this.
This is such an awesome video Pianote and the spaceship piano is so dope! 🛸🤯 I find it very entertaining to watch, his arrangement is phenomenal and sounds amazing to me. I’m learning to play as a beginner and enjoy listening to a variety of songs. This video shows me what happens when a real musician hears a piece of music, how their skills and thought process can then create and layer in so many wonderful sounds💫 It’s just like when we look at a piece of art what emotions and interpretations it evokes in us, it’s beautiful and a great way to approach with music as well🙌🏼
Why? It seems to me that it either makes no difference, or makes the end result a lot more interesting because it will probably be more removed from the original.
I've heard Billie Jean for the first time today. But it's just because I was born the day before yesterday. Learning to speak and write took me quite a few hours. Anyway... this Bruno Mars guy is really talented... he's gonna be big with his second hit _Beat It_ for sure.
Q: What do you call someone who hangs out with musicians? A: The drummer. Q: What do you call someone who hangs out with the band? A: The keyboardist. He doesn't need them!
I have zero piano or musical lessons. Never wanted to play someone else's music. Learned to play piano myself and by myself. I love to play my music. I like it to be melodious and emotional, slow, simple and soft then I develop it into a play bit by bit. I change things often because I want to feel it flows as naturally it is possible. I actually always wanted to play the violin. Musically, I think there's nothing like the violin. Nothing else makes me feel so much emotion. Hope I still have time to learn to play violin.
When you notice all these top notch "hears for the first time" players "discovering" (do they really ?) what you would mostly judge to be great classics for their genre, it does make you think. Do they live in a cave or something ! :D I guess they can be grateful they showed up to this program. Keep on rocking, Pianote/Drumeo & co :).
its always interesting to me that the pro musicians have not heard so much music, I don't think there is a single Pianote/drumeo etc song that they have thrown at them yet that I have not known in 3 secs, they are all big hits. And for him to think this singing voice is Trent Resnor or Thom Yorke? I guess musicians don't listen to "popular music"
There are far too many songs for there not to be any “famous” songs that haven’t completely escaped the attention of some human beings, even those steeped in music. There are songs you don’t know that other people would be astonished by.
Literally the first thing most reviewers said when they heard Showbiz was "trying too hard to be Radiohead". Thankfully, people see it differently now. But it was definitely a criticism of early Muse. *Especially* Showbiz.
I get tired of all these people crying disbelief that someone hasn't heard some song before. There have been countless genres and niches over the past 5 decades. Not everyone is familiar with the ones you know. Not everyone had their radio glued to KROQ in the 2000s (or insert your local alternative rock station). I'm sure he's highly familiar with many genres/periods that you know absolutely nothing about.
Now imagine a video where someone doesn't know The Beatles. Would that be justifiable to cry about? Or is it still understandable according to your standards?

Really? A musician of his experience and wide ranging musical taste has NEVER heard Muse? Calling BS on this, unless it's just some convoluted clickbait nonsense.

Thats funny he mentioned if it's radiohead, because if I'm not mistaken Muse uses the same engineer and producer that radiohead does.
That was just their first album. Nah, they're two different bands but Matt does sound like Thom at times. That's a compliment.
They definitely take inspiration from Radiohead at the very least!

this was super cool✨️✨️
i guess the chorus modulates to a major starting key, but with that vocal line i can see why the musician assumed it was staying in the same key
They began in Teighmouth 1994
That intro of his final performance really has Falco vibes.
An all around performance.
