    Low-mounted headlights are much better than conventional ones for two reasons. They:
    (1) Allow you to read the texture of the road at night much better, see potholes, etc. High-mounted headlights create flat image.
    (2) Do not blind the driver ahead of you.
    I consider low-mounted headlights to be an advantage. Something I would like to see is cornering headlights. It's a safety feature and should be available on every vehicle, at least as an option.

    • @HG-Pilot
      @HG-Pilot ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to disagree. It is the worst idea and a safety issues. When driving on FSR you can undoubtedly feel how wrong this design is. Shadows casted by these headlights are disturbing and the fact that every dip looks like a crater and you can't see how deep these holes are creating a feeling that you are driving on the moon. Even IIHS scored them as poor so your opinion is just that.

    • @mountainhobo

      @@HG-Pilot "every dip looks like a crater" - Talk about hyperbolic exaggeration. Do you realize that those lower lights are barely lower than regular headlights on Toyota Corolla? Get a grip. The lights position on this is much better than my previous 2015 traverse. Road is easier to see in night time. The height is equal to any sedan’s headlights so they are not that low. The fog lights were much lower in previous traverse. My old Traverse was 6 speed and was fun to drive. For this vehicle even 8 speed was enough.

    You must remember that Chevrolet did not build the traverse to be a performance vehicle at all. They’re not like dodge. They don’t need to put a V-8 in everything to get people to want them. Putting a 10 speed transmission and a V-8 in the traverse would make it less affordable. People want an awesome looking vehicle that they can afford. And that’s what the RS does. I actually have that same trim in all-wheel-drive and color. And it’s a fantastic vehicle.

    • @ginakerry2588
      @ginakerry2588 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did you buy an 8 passenger vehicle for gas mileage??? Was it even a concern??? Really???
      You could have gotten an Escape or rx30 if gas mileage is your priority .
      I just find it hilarious when reviewers are saying "Well this huge vehicle has a 4-banger turbo so it gets 25MPG instead of the 22 you get with a V6."
      They have got to be laughing their freaking heads off when they write that drivel!!😂😂😂
      I don't think they really expect us to take them seriously.
      And more often than not, your paying an extra 3500+ for the Turbo and all its attachments to be added to the vehicle.
      With that 3 MPG difference and $3500 in your pocket, you could buy 875 gallons of fuel good for 19,000+ miles. You'll probably never make up that $3500 in fuel savings.

    I can’t agree with most of these issues.
    The one I do is it would be nice to have a sportier engine option, perhaps a small block 8, making the RS more than an appearance package.
    Also no option for a built in electronic brake control for towing.
    One other small thing… no rear retractable window screens like many of the competition in this class.

    I agree with the low headlights. That’s the only thing I don’t like about these redesigned traverses. Even though the front end looks cool, I’m not used to having headlights that low on an SUV. Having the DRLs and the headlights separated just doesn’t look right.
    Otherwise, these are awesome looking SUVs.

    • @plmn93
      @plmn93 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't really look any different than anything else using fog lights, and the low position allows them to be brighter without blinding oncoming drivers.

  • @ginakerry2588
    @ginakerry2588 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The only thing I Definitely agree is the headlight problem. Everything else is trifling. The only reason you might need a V8 is for towing, so that's a maybe.
    The trans is fine, the chrome is a personal thing, irrelevant to me. The hard plastics are functional. Very nit picky.
    Anyway, the headlights CAN'T double as fog lights because headlight focus the beam forward.
    If you notice most foglights are just a bulb and a clear lense, this throws light in all directions low to the ground. I also find it helpful when pulling into my driveway at night because the fog lights throw some light out to the sides. I'd actually prefer cornering lights...maybe one day.
    In the meantime, I'll be installing fogs in that black plastic just below the silver accent .
    I kind of prefer adding my own fogs because I can set the relay up so they're active with the parking lights and/or active with the high beams which you can't get OEM. So maybe they did me a favor...time will tell.
    As far as complaints, I would say it's strange to have a "lights OFF" button that you turn Off to turn the interior lights ON.
    Cup holders in back are wholly inadequate without the optional 2nd row center console.
    The headlight switch is crazy . Left for OFF , right for Parking Lights, and then Left for Auto. A 4 detente switch like everyone else uses would have been simpler and preferable .
    Another peeve is that I can't run the ventilation when motor is off!! That's probably the most stupid decision of all.

    What do we need with bigger engines and more power? What are we going to do with it? I do like all that you don't, I have that exact Rigg, color, etc... It has blown off a few V8s pretty easily, it has plenty of power... Faster, faster, faster is not better anyways, driver safety, obeying road rules is what driving is supposed to be about... I think it looks great and feels great and, if I had one thing I would like to see improved, it would be put cross overs in each speaker and move the sub to the back Bose...that would improve the surround sound quality ... Otherwise, I love my Traverse and, I got my wife a Black 2022 Blazer RS and it literally flys... 0-60 in a self timed 5.4 seconds flat( and BTW, my Traverse just did 0-60 in 5.9 sec, with 4 people in it...just how fast do you need to go ... Similar to your experience,I'm still getting used to having 310 ponies on call in the 2023 and often find that I'm spinning all 4 wheels on a tight turn or U-turn. I'm still driving it like my CX-9 . 😂

    • @drummer8by2
      @drummer8by2 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A V8 engine would give it even better than the already efficient 5000 lb towing capacity ... I felt if they just added a tuned header exhaust system and, a Turbo on the V6 for an even sportier model and changed the trainy to the 8 speed truck trainy and rear end to increase the torque and towing capacity, plus optimize the Bose stereo even more(me being a major electronics/sound guy, the Bose is good but, they set it up wrong) then to me, this would be the ultimate slightly over midsize SUV... They are close... But no Cigar and, I still very much like my 2022 Traverse RS... I am thinking of trying the new 2024 RS soon as I lease new every 3 years but, why did Chevy not put a Turbo V6 availability in the RS vs just a Four Turbo... Either way, not bad, we'll see if I like the 2024 RS when it gets to my dealer... And BTW, my wife's 2022 Blazer RS really is quite fast...

    1) Chevy is not going to drop the 5.3 into it. One, it probably won't fit. Two, the 2.7 T is GM's hope to phase it out.
    2) If you are talking about the 10 speed GM & Ford co-developed, then look at all the lawsuits being filed with Ford. I'm good with the 9 speed and it's for a FWD application.
    3) The 3.6 is a strong engine. I drove our friend's Acadia AWD and it moved. It took a second to find the passing gear, but I was in regular driving/eco mode.
    4) The 2024 is going to address the cheap interior pieces. They are losing ground to the competition.
    5) I hope the 2.7T is not the only engine option. Some folks are not too crazy about the advanced cylinder/cam setup. It may say you can run regular, but I'm sure it's happier on 93.
    6) I'm on the fence about the headlights. I get it to be able to see the road better and you add in the DRL's, you got plenty of light.
    7) Keep the actual gear selector handle. In the Acadia, I had to ask how to operate it, and it's on the center of the dash.

    How about excessive wind noise coming from the driver n passenger side, had a 2020 traverse lt, was getting wind noise, traded it in for a 2023 traverse premier, and still getting the wind noise, took it to the dealership, they couldn't figure it out, said something about aerodynamic, that's how they were built blaming gmc

    That engine has plenty of power, 310 hp is a lot for a V6. If you want ridiculous power, then why not just get a hellcat or a dodge durango. This is a family vehicle, not a race car. GM could've up the torque power to 465 ft. Lb of torque to give it that quicker acceleration with the V6. The peppy little 4 banger just doesn't feel right for a midsize suv. V6 should've been standard on all Traverse as the proper engine.

      I wouldn't do a turbo gas for towing.
      For so many years the experts were telling us multi valve engines and turbos are not good for towing. And then suddenly, they're just fine. Not buying it.
      Just like masks work until they don't.
      And check out the low-mileage failure rates on upper control arms in the Pathfinder before buying one of those...and a 6 month backorder on the replacement part.

    So here’s a question, if you don’t like what they’re doing with the Chevy traverse, then why did you buy one? All five of those reasons are absolutely ridiculous! Why would you spend the money on a vehicle that you don’t like? Instead, get a vehicle that you do like, and select all of the options that you want so it fits you. Stop complaining! If you don’t like it, get rid of it and get something that you do like L O L.

    Lol super weird. I thought you were going to talk about the space or things that make sense. It should be called 5 things that I wanted that doesn’t make any sense . 😂 look man I prefer traverse. A lot of things I love #1 big huge space inside. #2 much horse power. #3. Six cylinders!! 👌#4 offers more space in 3rd row seat than any Kia telluride and Honda Pilot, I’ve seen it. Chevy traverse is way better than any of those cars period. You’re just asking nonsense. Don’t you think I didn’t want the traverse to have 1,000 horse power? Jajaja but nuh it’ll be nonsense.

  • @doctorsnarf8764
    @doctorsnarf8764 ปีที่แล้ว

    4 Cylinder engines are one of the worse decisions you can buy for any SUV size cars. The weight of the car and the small 4 cylinder turbo engines cause a huge amount of wear and tear on those small engines that tend to have more problems in the long run. This is why Chevy decides to pull them off the Traverse in 2021 on forward. I agree they should have from V6 to V8 on these classes of SUV's. The only reason the 4 cylinder options exist around other cards its due to the Obama Car Pollution regulations that happened when he was in office, he wanted less pollution emitted by cars. Thus manufactures made cars with smaller engines and turbos to make up the difference. The grounded issue is still the weight to power for the cars. This is why you wont ever see a V6 Twin turbo on a F-350, even if it made the same amount of torque and power it would destroy that engine in the long run. Naturally inspired engines are simple and solid and outlast anything else, however they aren't fuel efficient. I had a traverse RS 2021 for 1 year 4 months an ended up trading it because i started to hear the engine a little louder and new i was on bored time. This is regardless of me always maitance it a head of time and taking care of it and never hauling anything and had 90% hwy miles.
