This is just another super informative and helpful review, as always. And thank you so much for speaking for us against Toyota stealers!! Many of us have waited in the line for a year or two and we need the voice to be heard by Toyota more than ever.
I've had my GR Corolla for a month and absolutely love it. I'm glad the Type R exists, but it wasn't on my radar. The GRC is somewhat of a sleeper unless you know what you're looking for. Its great manufacturers are still making hot hatches and enthusiast cars like the Type R, Elantra N, and Golf R #SaveTheManuals
You didn't mention the VW GTI. For the money? The GTI is the best value going right now, yes its slower but 0-60 in 5.5 seconds is fast enough stock vs stock for most and the GTI rides better, more useable space, better MPG's and lower insurance cost.
@@NorthKrumb Well in my case I would never ever buy a Hyundai ever again. Why? Well at one time we had 5 Hyundai vehicles in our family, 3 of the 5 needed new engines by 60k miles. 1 caught on fire in our garage and almost burned our house down. All due to factory defects. I have owned numerous VW's over the years and never ever had anything like this every happen. On top of that an Elantra N IS NOT a good looking car. So GTI for me.
Love your detailed reviews. I just bought a 2025 from a Penske dealer. It was a very nice transaction with minimal BS and i got a great deal...I chose the GR over a new leftover Challenger. I Love it!
I think everyone should take a second to reflect on how many legendary drivers were involved in developing the GR Yaris, they had Sebastian Ogier, Tommi Makinen, Jari-Matti Latvala, and Kalle Rovanpera. It really is no wonder that Toyota nailed it with both the GR Yaris and the GR Corolla.
why because it still runs? A 26 yr old Corolla would be boring as heck to drive so your expectations must be very low for your fun to drive ratio. haha. We have a 1960 VW beetle that has been in the family for 64 yrs, its slow has over a million documented miles and that is fun to drive because its so different than anything on the road today, but a Corolla? To each their own.
Its sad that there’s a lot of guys hating the GRC. A manual, awd, hatch that has a manual parking brakes is very rare these days. This car can literally do anything! I’ve taken it to dirt trails, snowy curvy mountain passes for snowboarding runs and your usual uninspiring grocery trips on the weekends. This car begs to be driven and has that raw feeling.. not sure how to describe it. I have some minor gripes with this car like the lack of interior quality but I bought this car knowing that. The GRC is very easy to maintain yourself being a Toyota and all. There’s growing aftermarket support too if you are into that. I’ve owned this for a year now and overall the experience has been great so far!
The GR Corolla has numerous problems. The engine can't be tuned because the valve train is poorly designed and would need to get replaced. The head gasket will eventually give up. The transmission collars are poorly designed and start failing from the start. The Rear Differential was designed to be larger than the front one.. This is the reason it overheats. I've been waiting for One but won't even bother with it because it's going to be Very Expensive to keep longer than 60k miles.
@@Wind_slash0 I don't know what he's talking about, I don't have any of those issues in my GRY. For example the head gasket "issue" is just bizzarre. Motive tested the engine all the way to 500hp and the headgasket was fine. Also the different diff ratio is not the cause for over heating. It's all bs.
I bought one, walked into a dealership who had a premium and drove out with a GR Corolla. After 2 Golf Rs this is so much more fun. Not as practical because the battery is in the trunk but a joy to drive. It has so much personality. I enjoyed this walk around and review.
@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 The GR has better steering and steering feel, better brakes, better gearbox and less understeer. In many ways the Golf R is the better car, better interior, more useable and so on (well the Golf % 7 and 7.5 have better interiors) but it is ultimately bland to drive. It just goes rather than you having to drive it to get performance. This is very subjective, I know, but I enjoy the GR more because of it's occasional crudity because it has more character. The GR is rev happy, the Golf R is a torque monster, You have to interact much more with the GR to go quickly and for me that makes it more fun. The GR reminds me of my Mk 6 GTi in that you have to put the effort in to it to get the best out of it. Hope this helps. Oh the 2024 Golf R is supposed to be the last year it has a manual.
@@markwheeler4417 Last year I drove a Golf R - & yes - it was nice to drive... Now that I have my GRC c I am so happy I waited for it. So much more fun & engaging to drive
As a GRY owner of 3 years I still love the car the same as the day I got it. Anytime you drive it puts a smile on your face! I’m not the best driver but it makes me feel like a pro on some of the twisty narrow roads. There is nothing out of the box that can touch it on these roads it’s that damn quick
That makes no sense at all and would diminish the overall experience of the car. The GR is a hatch already and was never meant to be a comfortable family car.
I’m 76 and that car makes me want one. It reminds me of the Mustang and what Carroll Shelby did with it , engine mods , transmission, suspension , rear end , styling and some interior changes. Good for Toyota . I still have my 66’ Mustang ( not a Shelby )
Currently on a road trip in Vegas with my 24 circuit. Had it for just over a month and have 4000 plus miles on it. I can’t stop driving this little rocket. I choose to drive the GR over my Porsche Cayman 4.0 on this trip. It’s been a long honeymoon phase.
Buy a fire extinguisher to keep in it when your engine blows up out of the blue like so many are doing. Make sure to keep insurance on it & GAP if you need it.
I have to say that this gentleman is my favorite Toyota technician. I watched his video on the past gen Tacoma before I bought one and watch any other video he puts out before I consider buying new Toyotas. He spends his time on the drivetrain, not the number of cupholders or stereo system. This guy deserves at least 500K subs.
Have a GR Yaris RZ High Performance 1st Edition imported from Japan. Once you drive one (or the GRC in your country) you won’t want to stop. The smile that gets plastered on your face doesn’t come off either. Forget abt “comfort this, hard plastics or high seats” moaning you hear. This is not why you buy a car like this. Thank you Toyoda-san (Morizo)!!
I had a 2 door Civic Si that I sold after our son was born to get a family SUV. 8 years later I bought a cheap 4 door Civic 5 speed manual. It IS the slowest car in the world with the r18 engine. But it still puts a smile on my face. I'm very much looking forward to the day I can afford a used GR Corolla!
@@michaelcarson8375grc have manual transmissions so no dipstick. If you ever need to know you pull the fill bolt out some and if fluid starts to come out your good. Super easy to change as well. An auto is only easy to check if it has a dipstick which are few and far between. The last Corolla with an auto and dipstick in the us was the 2013. Rip. my rav4 is fairly easy to read with a nice temp gun between 95-105 degrees f even without the traditional dipstick as it has a leveling plug under the drain bolt.

Why do I want one??? 😂 Saw the reviews last year but then saw the jacked-up dealer prices and nope. Grew up in the era of hot hatchbacks - tiny cars priced right and fun to drive. 2 of 3 isn’t bad for this.
Availability has improved by now. You shouldn't be having to pay markups at all for them. Some are even paying under MSRP for the Core or Premium (get the Premium if you can, it comes with the LSDs, wireless charger and heated seats, and the better seats from the previous year's CE). I've heard people getting the CE for MSRP as well.
NOW IS DEFINITELY THE TIME TO BUY! I got almost $4k off MSRP on a 2025 Premium in Heavy Metal with Sub radiator and other options. All the market adjustments are done! Even the Type R is being advertised at MSRP when just this past summer everything said “call/come in for pricing”. Honda even extended a discount to the CTR which wasn’t the case before.
My friend did a shot of tequila every time he heard the word “bespoke.” Twenty minutes in and he is OUT! (Haha…just kidding. Love the Car Car Nut…best channel out there for us car nuts!)
I brought a 2024 GR Corolla a month ago (Australia)....traded in a old Mercedes...this car is amazing. I haven't caught fire yet, even after multiple runs at the drag strip....only issue is the price....$71,000 Australian Dollars....I had a massive price reduction, due to working in the automotive industry but I certainly wouldn't pay the asking price for this car.
Agree with your conclusions after owning one for about a month! "Do it all cars" are often a mix of compromises, but the GR Corolla does so many things well. I went through the same life story you mentioned, but the GR Corolla fits so well into my life with a family. I'm thankful that this car exists and want more drivers to enjoy it as well!
I bought a 2024 GR Corolla Circut Edition. I took it to the track 3 times. The rear drive system overheated in 10 minutes every time I went on the track. I had major quality issues with the paint that Toyota and Carver Toyota in Columbus, Indiana, wouldn't do anything about. So, after two months of ownership, I traded it off for a CT4V Blackwing. I lost $10k on that GR, but I wasn't going to keep a $50k Toyota that wasn't going to be taken acre of by the manufacturer or the dealer. So, I say, don't buy a GR. Put your money into a car that will last longer than 10 minutes on the track and will be backed. Toyota is suffering in quality on so many things right now, and this is just another one.
I love the level of detail explained in this video, who else is talking about laser clad valve seats and offset crankshafts? As someone who is considering this car and mechanical longevity, these details matter. Keep 'em coming!!
I am very happy to follow you on this channel. It made me look with another eye at the world of cars. Greetings to you and to your distinguished followers like you from overseas from he United Arab Emirates ❤️
Depends on what Trim... Most Dealerships Stopped adding Mark-Up on the Core Trim. The Circuit Edition still has Mark-Up. It's mixed with the Premium Trim.
I’ve owned mine since feb 24. I remember watching your video before I got it. I have 37k miles on it and it’s only gotten better. It goes from full vegetable mode to keep the family happy right to a homing missal with the flip of a switch.
I agree, power delivery is very smooth, before you realize it, you're tearing down the road at 100 mph. It's stable and a has a very non dramatic sense of security. I also like that it's kind of stealthy, very few know what this is. To most people, it's just a Corolla, it blends in well, if you don't get an eye catching color.
That's what I love about it. I don't get much attention from random people - or cops either lol. But that said, I still do get a few occasional people walk up to me at a gas station or whatever asking about the car - it's /very/ much a "if you know, you know" type deal and I love it. Almost feels like a sleeper.
Here in NorCal, the Si/R/GR are all marked up the extreme (they’re still asking $10 - $15K above MSRP for the ones you can drive off in that day) & the Hyundai Elantra N is nowhere on any Hyundai car lot - special order only. Only thing that’s plentiful in dealerships is GTI’s and Supra’s 😭
For reference Honda builds ~3000 CTRs a year and Hyundai built 2200 Elantra N manuals. Toyota shipped 5000+ GRCs to the US. Before you hate on Toyota you should hate on the other two.
I don't think they put the parking sensors for any 'weird' reason. it's simply because all new Toyotas come with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. Having RCTA is a blessing lol.
I snagged the exact one I wanted: a ‘23 Circuit Edition in Heavy Metal (metallic grey). I had to pay $2k over MSRP, but that was much better than others. At the time, Toyota told me that they had no say in what they got, what models, what trim levels, colors, options, etc. They said Toyota just sends out a few to the dealerships, and you get what you get. I was lucky to snag the exact color and trim level…and I knew it was coming before the dealership did. There were a few reasons why I wanted the ‘23 over the ‘24. I don’t care for the decals down the side skirt on the ‘24. It just looked cheap to me. I also don’t care for the PDC sensors. It’s a small car and you have a backup camera. The sensors blend well enough, but it still looks better without them, and one less thing to fail. Lastly, they only offered the ‘24 in white or that blue flame. The blue flame looks cool, and o can appreciate it on somebody else’s car, but it’s not for me. I love the Heavy Metal grey of my ‘23. I don’t know if it’s still true of the ‘24, but in my ‘23 you can look at the VIN plate at the base of the windshield and it’ll tell you which X/1500 you have. Mine is 802. I’m not sure if the Circuit was limited to 1500 for ‘24 as well, or not. Lastly, I do have one question. Is there a reason why when I’m driving with my low beams and fog lights on, the fog light will turn off if I engage my high beams (or if I use auto high beams). It seems like you want more light when using high beams, so it’s weird that the fog lights turn off. The battery being in the rear and the self adjusting clutch have been staples of BMW for a long time now. I wonder if they picked up some of those from the Supra collaboration.

I saw most every Honda dealer charging a lot more over MSRP than I did Toyota dealers. Many Toyota dealers were selling these for MSRP from day one, not Honda dealers. I test drove both of these cars one back roads and the GR Corolla was a lot more fun on these twisty back roads than the Civic Type R. The GR Corolla also came with heated seats, heated steering wheel, an actual hand brake, AWD, and it's a true hot hatch. The Civic Type R has none of these things. My local dealership in Vancouver, WA, McCord's Vancouver Toyota is a MSRP dealer and they don't play games. I got my GRC without any dealer add ons on my salesperson, Rachel, was fantastic. She's helped others get one to help fulfill their dreams too. You have to find the good dealers, they do exist.
But the CTR counters with a better manual, sharper handling, better seats, a much nicer interior with space for adults and more power. They both have their charms.
@@bearclaw5115 I don't think it has a better manual, they are both very good but my GR Corolla has better feel to it, the CTR is too smooth as it has no feel at all when shifting. The seats are better on the CTR for the track but not for just enjoying on the street, the bolsters make it a PITA to get in and out easily just like the seats on the Morizo and the red seats are an eye sore. The interior of both cars are fine to me the than the color of the CTR, the GRC gets bad marks for no reason to me as I like the layout and interior just fine. Space is fine on both and the CTR can only seat 4 and not 5, I could care less though as I'll never have anyone in my back seat but I see plenty that do and they seem to be fine when I ask them. The CTR is too big to me. The CTR might have a little more power but with AWD the GRC can put the power down better, hence the better 0-60 times and much better in any bad weather.
It definitely makes me miss Scion's business model of no haggle pricing (even though dealers still slapped on useless crap to mark it up). I miss my FR-S every day.
@@JJFX- There are so many MSRP dealers though. Back in 2016 I almost bought a new Scion iM for MSRP. Then in 2017 I bought a Corolla iM and got a brand new one with a 6-speed MT for $13560 + TT&L. It was was below MSRP while the Scion iM was just being sold at MSRP so it goes both ways.
This is a very similar car to my Mitsubishi Mirage, it's very light, you can toss it all over the place. Though it's not even close to as powerful as this, which can be a good thing, can drive it hard and not worry about the speed limits. And it's not as good on corners. It's not bad, but it's not trying to be a race car. But both are a hatchback, 3 cylinder, small, go-cart type.
The Mitsubishi Mirage is literally the worst car sold in the U.S. It has one quarter of the power this GR Corolla has. They are not similar. Although they both have 3 cylinders and four wheels.
@@bearclaw5115 I guess they are different, the Corolla is a sports car. I wouldn't say the Mitsubishi is the worst though, Doug says so, but it seems like a solid, reliable car.
Apparently, the Corolla GR also catch fire 🔥 The issue is not that, the issue is Toyota voiding the warranty for driving them fast... Over 85 miles fast... Imagine that
@@sm0keyyy_Of course there is. Some dealers have been leaving their GPS sensors wired above the OBDII port then using this data against owners. Supposedly these are only meant to be used to track lot cars but there's some shady things going on these days. That's not to say Toyota doesn't deserve some blame but make sure you tell the dealer they better remove it and check that it's not there.
I'm 6'3 and I've had my GR Corolla (Premium) for a bit over 7 months. I've not had any issues with my knees hitting that portion of the dash that sticks out - I count myself as lucky. I will say that the factory shifter is very good but has its moments where it just doesn't feel right. I solved my shifter issues by installing RacerX spherical bushings and changing out the gear fluid with AMSOil Severe Gear 75w90. I'm not keen on the alignment, so I'll be making adjustments to that once I get a few parts. The brakes are fantastic! The engine response is very good, not NA good, but very good for an engine with a turbo. It has front and rear Torsen LSDs (Premium and higher come with them), and that was simply the sweetest music to my ears. :) Overall, it's an incredible car for the price. It's not perfect, but it is incredibly close to perfect, and I'm very happy that I bought one.
I'm picking up my 2025 GR Corolla this Sat, Jan 11, 2025. I can't wait. Car Care Nut, I have no idea if much has changed for 2025 besides how the power ratio front to rear works but if you'd like to do a review of my car, I'd love it!
They did SO MANY IMPROVEMENTS for 2025! Airflow, suspension upgraded, performance package standard on all models, more weld points, weight reduction, sub radiator option….and more! Can’t wait to get mine! Just looked at the date….DID YOU GET IT?
Do not worry. It won’t be reliable with sone miles on it. The engine is super stressed from the day it is purchased. But on the positive side, you’ll be able to buy one real cheap.
Yeah, those Yaris’ over seas are dropping like flies, left and right. Lol. U ppl can’t be this uninformed and speak so confidently on things you know nothing about. It’s laughable.
Some people hate that it's got an econobox interior - personally I love it. I love the idea of taking up a standard car, throwing a vastly improved engine and drivetrain in it and making it fun as hell to throw around in corners. Makes me feel like I'm sticking to my roots a bit - I don't need any fancy luxury interior, I just want the fun bits.
I’ve been driving since age 14. I am now 85 and I never want to see a manual transmission again. My 23 Escape has an e-CVT and it is so smoothe I don’t even want to see an automatic transmission again.
Can't remember exactly but the first case wasn't proven to be the car's fault and the second one was likely insurance fraud. I've read a lot about people saying they drive these hard with no problems.

Hi Mr. Car Care Nut. Yes, I totally agree with you that this is a very nice car. Even though as a Honda fan, I love watching your videos and learning the insights in whatever you're reviewing or going through. One definite agreement is that that Toyota dealerships jacking up the price of the cars. One case in point is that we walked into the local Toyota dealership near me and just as my friend who was look for a RAV4 and opening the door to sit inside one. The sales rep said we wanted to mention that all the RAV4's have a 5k over sticker! I grabbed my friend and took her to the Subaru dealership and she ended up with a Forrester at sticker. Sorry....this has be stopped not only at Toyota dealerships, but any dealership.
I got my GRC circuit for sticker and zero markup! It took about a year and a half to get it and god is it amazing! I love mine so much! It’s fun when it needs to be and practical when it needs to be! On top of everything when it’s just being daily driven it’s getting 30+ mpg for me! That’s without even trying! Then I hit back roads and open it up a little and it’s just a blast!
Yeah, seeing Toyota pull these shenanigans, was the cherry on top for my decision to go with an FL5 instead of the GR. I was shopping for them right when they were all coming out (needed a replacement for my totalled '20 Si Coupe). And I had the FL5, GR, Golf R, and Elantra N, on my short list of potential rides (in that order from my top to bottom choices). The FL5s were just starting to get allocated, while the GR was like a week or more behind. When I went to my local Toyota dealer (part of a huge dealership that included Honda, Hyundai, Acura, Lexus, Genesis, Hyundai, and more) and asked about getting a GR they started on some nonsense about a wait list, blind deposits, huge markups, and some other BS. I ended up sitting with a spreadsheet and just contacting about 100+ Honda dealers in 10+ different states for an FL5. Had markups range from 10K to 35K....got 2 actual offers for 10K over, took those to my Honda dealer (who I got my '20 Si from) which I knew had 2 FL5s coming, and worked with him to get me down to only 6K over. Which I was fine with. I knew back then that was basically as good as it was gonna get (might be easier for some now). Seeing some of the issues owners are having with GRs and Toyota, sort of makes me even more happy I went with the FL5 (sad for the GR owners tho).
@@AERoVALKYRiE It's not just Toyota. Most cars that have "smart" connected services do that on some level. Normally you should be able to opt out of sharing any personal or vehicle data. But I agree it's still a worrying step in the wrong direction, particularly with how vague the wording in some of these terms of service contracts can be. The other annoying thing is that often you have to actively look for the option to opt out, rather than the other way around. It's not always up front, or clear that it's automatically set to send the data to begin with.
US laws says the manufactures can not tell dealers how much to charge. But the manufactures can restrict or increase supply. So Toyota can make & send more than 5,000 cars a year to the US
Thank you for this excellent technical review. I had been admiring this car from afar but after watching your piece, and seeing a ‘24 premium sitting on my local lot for a couple weeks, I ignored the more sensible angel voice on one shoulder and took a test drive today…2 hours later it’s sitting in my driveway. The generosity you display in sharing your encyclopedic knowledge is immeasurable. Thank you once again.

Its great manufacturers are still making hot hatches and enthusiast cars like the Type R, Elantra N, and Golf R
#SaveTheManuals
Yea, I was debating type r and 718 cayman but I needed the awd and I love rally type cars
You didn't mention the VW GTI. For the money? The GTI is the best value going right now, yes its slower but 0-60 in 5.5 seconds is fast enough stock vs stock for most and the GTI rides better, more useable space, better MPG's and lower insurance cost.
@@eppyz I'd rather get an elantra N over a gti
@@NorthKrumb Well in my case I would never ever buy a Hyundai ever again. Why? Well at one time we had 5 Hyundai vehicles in our family, 3 of the 5 needed new engines by 60k miles. 1 caught on fire in our garage and almost burned our house down. All due to factory defects. I have owned numerous VW's over the years and never ever had anything like this every happen. On top of that an Elantra N IS NOT a good looking car. So GTI for me.
@eppyz Volkswagen has never had a good looking car imo so I'd still rather have the elantra N
It really is no wonder that Toyota nailed it with both the GR Yaris and the GR Corolla.
didnt know this
No no, don’t mind all of that. These ppl are fixated on a rear diff that will overheat on a track that they will never be on. Lol.
Yes, even Tony Hawk was involved.
It’s a really nice car. the GR Corolla looks like a regular Corolla hatchback who hit the gym 💪🏽
what a crazy concept. Honda, VW or Subaru would never come up with that.

A mechanic that also rates the shape of the car is really a cool attribute.
Either that or he is desparately trying to keep the viewer from switching channels.
My 26-year-old Corolla still puts a smile on my face when I drive it.
Agreed
why because it still runs? A 26 yr old Corolla would be boring as heck to drive so your expectations must be very low for your fun to drive ratio. haha. We have a 1960 VW beetle that has been in the family for 64 yrs, its slow has over a million documented miles and that is fun to drive because its so different than anything on the road today, but a Corolla? To each their own.
You should buy a GR Corolla then, and you'll have even more smiles.

I had been waiting for you to post a video on this car. As someone who just bought this car, I'm relieved to hear nothing negative jumping out.
As if other performance awd turbo econobox cars didn't have issues 🤯
@@Wind_slash0 I don't know what he's talking about, I don't have any of those issues in my GRY. For example the head gasket "issue" is just bizzarre. Motive tested the engine all the way to 500hp and the headgasket was fine. Also the different diff ratio is not the cause for over heating. It's all bs.
My problem with the GR is entirely dependent on how much it costs. If you can get one for sticker, great! Otherwise, not so good.
@@lamesamelameyou forgot about the pos clutch that can barely handle the stock power output
I bought one, walked into a dealership who had a premium and drove out with a GR Corolla. After 2 Golf Rs this is so much more fun. Not as practical because the battery is in the trunk but a joy to drive. It has so much personality. I enjoyed this walk around and review.
what did you end up paying for it?
@@AllSnipe It was $1,000 over list but game with some accessories like the roof bars.
Why is it more fun? The golf r is faster and also has manual.

AMD, When I see the GR Corolla hatch I daydream of a GR Corolla wagon. 🤩🤩
Europe has an Auris Touring Sports which is essentially a wagon Corolla but they're weak.
That makes no sense at all and would diminish the overall experience of the car. The GR is a hatch already and was never meant to be a comfortable family car.
@supernova6553 It's a Corolla Touring now, in the UK at least but yes, there is no 'hot' variant.
What does "AMD" mean?

This is the most informative and unbiased video on the Corolla GR4! Thanks!
Thank you Toyoda-san (Morizo)!!
I had a 2 door Civic Si that I sold after our son was born to get a family SUV. 8 years later I bought a cheap 4 door Civic 5 speed manual. It IS the slowest car in the world with the r18 engine. Why do I want one??? 😂 Saw the reviews last year but then saw the jacked-up dealer prices and nope. Grew up in the era of hot hatchbacks - tiny cars priced right and fun to drive. 2 of 3 isn’t bad for this.
If it makes you feel better, i was able to get one UNDER MSRP. It's possible to get a good deal on one, just gotta keep an eye on the market!

I brought a 2024 GR Corolla a month ago (Australia)....traded in a old Mercedes...this car is amazing.
I haven't caught fire yet, even after multiple runs at the drag strip....only issue is the price....$71,000 Australian Dollars....I had a massive price reduction, due to working in the automotive industry but I certainly wouldn't pay the asking price for this car.
hi ,i paid $66,000 all up on the road for my 2024 in melbourne in june, all the best 😊
$71K AUD, converts to $44k USD, which is about what MSRP is here in 🇺🇸……it has changed recently, now you can get them for about +$2k-$4k off MSRP.
Those Cadillacs are badass.Congrats.
GM have a lot, lot more quality issues generally speaking.

Best GR Corolla review to ever exist so far 💯 so in depth in to things I wanted to know and couldn't find. You are the man 🤘
I agree, power delivery is very smooth, before you realize it, you're tearing down the road at 100 mph.
In California, Type R/Civic Si’s are marketed up and GR’s can be had for MSRP.
Most Dealerships Stopped adding Mark-Up on the Core Trim. The Circuit Edition still has Mark-Up. It's mixed with the Premium Trim.

Not building enough cars to meet demand to drive the price up is ridiculous. I won't buy anymore new cars until the price gouging stops.
These are pretty available at msrp now. I paid msrp for my premium a few weeks ago
Haven't seen mark-ups in a while actually
Guess you're not buying any new cars. I'm not either.
The car Companies are as Greedy as The Dealerships are 😤
For reference Honda builds ~3000 CTRs a year and Hyundai built 2200 Elantra N manuals. Toyota shipped 5000+ GRCs to the US. Before you hate on Toyota you should hate on the other two.
Make more and control the dealers ! We all agree with you 100%. 💓💛💜
I don't think they put the parking sensors for any 'weird' reason. it's simply because all new Toyotas come with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. Having RCTA is a blessing lol.
It’s 2024, why not add them? Lol
Most people are gonna be daily driving it.
Got a premium Gr 3 months ago. It is the most fun car I have driven.
Good one, I have the 2024 GR Corolla Circuit, Love it.
Finally a high IQ car review. Keep it up!
I love these breakdowns.

The at one time but now retired service manager of the Toyota dealership where we buy our cars has one of these in black. Neat car.
This was the BEST GR video I have seen on YT so far. Well done. You are a fantastic presenter.

@@geraldjustprojects gr86 is literal garbage, subies suck
There’s more to the story, I promise. The majority of people who own this car would be denied if going >85 mph voided the warranty.
@@sm0keyyy_Of course there is. Some dealers have been leaving their GPS sensors wired above the OBDII port then using this data against owners. I'm 6'3 and I've had my GR Corolla (Premium) for a bit over 7 months. I've not had any issues with my knees hitting that portion of the dash that sticks out - I count myself as lucky.

Yeah, those Yaris’ over seas are dropping like flies, left and right. Lol. U ppl can’t be this uninformed and speak so confidently on things you know nothing about. It’s laughable.
@@MegaOzzy28It's only been two. The first was wasn't the car's fault and the second one was insurance fraud. Be quiet.
I cant wait till we get a review of the 2025 automatic transmission!
I check my engine oil level first thing in the morning before starting it up.
You're going to break your dipstick if you use it 400 times a year for 10-20 years. I check my oil every time I fuel up
@@omarpulido8502 👍My CDL teacher taught us that.
Every 2 weeks is fine. Your method is obsessive
@@ADUSN 👍I’m schizophrenic like Trump is.
Ive always had a thing for hatchbacks especially "hot hatches". I love this car.
I would like your thoughts on the engine failures/ fires that our being denied warranty coverage
I’ve been driving since age 14. I am now 85 and I never want to see a manual transmission again. My 23 Escape has an e-CVT and it is so smoothe I don’t even want to see an automatic transmission again.
So these things are just catching fire now?
Can't remember exactly but the first case wasn't proven to be the car's fault and the second one was likely insurance fraud. I've read a lot about people saying they drive these hard with no problems.
It's a hot hatch, what are you complaining about
Toyota delivered a great technologically awesome car. Happy to get one in the future.
I have a 2024 Integra Type S. It’s fantastic!
$60k FWD?
Or...save yourself 13-20k and buy a GR Corolla instead.
@@BadMannerKoreano thanks. I can’t stand Toyota products. and this is coming from somebody who used to buy Toyotas religiously back in the 80s and 90s. I owned Tercels, Corollas, many different trucks including a first and second generation Tundra, Cressida, ‘88 Supra Turbo Targa, 2010 4Runner. I won’t be buying another one. They suck now.
@@TheCarCrazyGuy Your claim "they suck" is clearly an opinion. Not even the owner of this channel agrees with that. But if you want to back it up with something, I'll be waiting.
@@BadMannerKorea as a car enthusiast Toyota completely sucks. A Corolla is not a performance car. A Supra is a BMW. A GR86 is a Subaru. Everything else is nothing more than an appliance and boring at that. Look at all the problems Toyotas had recently. Why would anybody want one. I support America with the exception of my Acura because an American car maker doesn’t make anything like that. I buy American. My truck is a 2024 Silverado HD Duramax. You can keep your Toyotas.
I can’t wait to see your review of the new GR 86 when they put this motor in it they are no longer working with Subaru
Wait... the GR86 is now a 3 cylinder???
Edit: Looks like it's still just a rumor....
Considering they're catching fire and Toyota is refusing warranty claims in gonna go with, NO.
Toyota collecting user data and sharing it with insurance is the bigger problem here. No more Toyota for me
@@AERoVALKYRiE It's not just Toyota.
Great little vehicle, it and the Yaris GR will go down in history as true classics
US laws says the manufactures can not tell dealers how much to charge. But the manufactures can restrict or increase supply. So Toyota can make & send more than 5,000 cars a year to the US
*Nah. TMC can import as many cars and trucks as they please.*
The engine is hand built in a special factory. They have limited capacity to make these.
The fact that it’s 100% toyota and the manual-only were big deciding factors for me.
This will compliment my imported JDM ‘98 2UZ land cruiser nicely I think! Thanks again and I only regret that I don’t live closer to your shop to help me maintain my 4 toyotas!
I live in canada and these cars are going for around $50k to $60k brand new. I ended up going for a 2019 Golf R with 50,000km for $28k.
