An expensive wideband tuning system made this bike run WAY WORSE!

    You guys really make it interesting to watch your video's! Keep up the great work!

    Another thing worth to mention are PAIR systems which makes AFR readings more lean 😉

    Question: why not fix the exhaust leak?

    • @snoddyification
      @snoddyification 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup, that's the ideal outcome.
      However, it's not up to a shop to perform ANY work without proper authorization.
      Because if they do without authority, they might not get paid, the repair might cost nearly as much as replacement parts etc etc etc.
      They do the task contracted to do, only.

    Exhaust is sound waves. That helps me wrap my mind around it.

      There are sound waves but the exhaust gas pulses are not moving at the speed of sound.

    Calibration is another thing to consider. Lambda output at certain AFRs versus ECU expected input at certain AFRs. Might not be an issue with this system. I'm not familiar with it.

    The main takeaway: don't buy cheap exhausts

      or just move the o2 sensor to 8-12 incheas aftere the exhaust port where the leak will be less or not at all affect the sensor?

    Hey that’s a great looking bike! 😉 Thanks for the help.

    Seeing this setup and position of wideband i shouldnt make it run that much leaner you want a minimum of 6 inches of exhuast past the sensor

    Great video. My group has 3 track bikes all 2015 R-1's that you guys tuned, have the wide band, you programmed for them, will inspect bikes with these ideas in mind. The issue?, we have had problems with throttle chop and just accepted it as normal, deal with it. Track only bikes. Difficult to crack throttle transitioning from entry to corner maintenance. I have also read a bit about bike computers having a setting to shut off fuel on deceleration. I assume that if it is there you would turn that off for a track bike?

      When did we flash and tune these 15 R1s? We completely overhauled the throttle mapping for these bikes to address this issue on all R1s and FZ/MT10s of that generation. Email us at support@2wheeldynoworks.com for details!

      @@2wheeldynoworks when did you guys change it? I had my Mt ECU to you about a year ago for FTECU blipper update

      @@2wheeldynoworks spring of 2019. We had them on the street for 500 miles then made them into track bikes. We got them tuned prior to the 2019 track season. email sent! Thanks.

    So if the customer fixes the exhaust leaks, they can use the wideband again? I have always wondered why nobody uses fullwelded exhausts on their bikes. I know those "slip" connections will not in anyway be secured enough to avoid leaks. Some of them will hold up at lower rpm runs but when you go wide open and the rpms climb, the vibrations can loosen up those connections and cause the leaks.

      All it takes is a gasket and a clamp.
      Also lots of people use full welded exhausts, except for the muffler, which often needs to come off to access stuff for maintenance.

    what the **** does wideband mean?

  • @warrenpeas
    @warrenpeas 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    shit. tonight i just drilled a hole to weld a bung in a similiar location about a 7 inches after the header pipe connection and a foot before the slip on. and its an amazon slip on thats on an amazon exhaust so the fit isnt that great. BUT my bike is carb not efi so it has no ecu. im manually tuning the carb am i ok because i can adjust manually for any leak that might affectt he wideband sensor? or should i heat wrap the pipe or use some kind of exhaust pipe clamp for the slip on?
