    You guys should really check out Accelerated Technologies so that you set up front sag on your machine as well, It's really important and your sled will be much safer and corner better. Normal angle on front a arms is around 16 degrees, you want to lower that angle to lower centre of gravity. When all is set up when you raise and lower back of sled track will touch flat. Most don't they have the front of track touching first, which makes your sled unstable. Sorry for the essay but I think it's really important. I thought I had mine set up perfect until I took It to Accelerated and John explained. Made a world of difference. And you still get full shock travel.

    Great video. Just what I was looking for. Question, the general consensus I get from others is to adjust one thing at a time. If that is the case and you have everything is at full soft then would you start with the center shock or the rear for steering and weight transfer? Bear with me, I’m still looking for my optimal set up to still be able to lift the front end but still have the cornering. I know there is a happy medium somewhere. Thanks!

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Brian. I would adjust that front track shock to get steering the way you want it and yes there is a happy medium adjusting it. You want just enough bite but light steering is what I normally aim for. For transfer, just leave the rear blocks on 1. If you have a 21 or 22, you can also try adjusting the arm for more transfer as well. Cheers, Mike

      Thanks man, I appreciate your response. Got my springs set, and everything at softest clicks on the clickers. A lot of play when leaning side to side but hopefully with a little dialing in I will get it just where I like it. Front arm is already changed to the more transfer position. Ride safe!!

    I have a 2022 Renegade X and have adjusted my suspension to where I like it. Working really well but the one challenge I have is the rear snow flap seems high off the ground when I am on it 5". With the engine temp on gauge all the time I am more aware of how hot the sled is running. 42-60 degree's C. Is this too hot and is the snow flap height ok I am a big guy 6 foot 1" and 230 lbs. Hey Shaun. Are u running an an 850 or 900? Snow flap height is fine. An 850 optimal temp is around 43.. 50 to 60 degrees is running hot. Cheers, Jesse

    • @guyzoun
      @guyzoun 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have 4 RenX 600r 2022, and when temp is above 50C, it's because of ice accumulation in the skid tunnel thus blocking the radiators from getting fresh snow. It was the same issue with our 2020 RenX 600r. Sometimes you can get 40 pounds of ice accumulation inside the skid tunnel. This is a G4 design problem especially when riding 350-450 km a day on a 2500 km vacation trip. Ride safe Ride sober ✌

    Nice video. 2 comments, 1) the sled should be completely level on the ground before you set the sag. I think you did, but then show the sled on the wheels. 2) is more of my preference on front sag at 1-2". You don't need a rider on the sled, but I feel is my good starting point

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup! When we measured the sag we had all the dollys off and sled flat on ground. And good point on the front sag. Everyone has their own balance. We were just trying to give a general stance on what most choose to set it as.

    Now when you say no more give in the center front spring you mean up and down or wiggle left and right?

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You loosen off to the point where you can wiggle it right to left and then add just enough pressure until you can no longer wiggle. Mike.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnycash7803 Yes. This is your starting point which will give you more weight on your skis and then add preload (tighten it) to reduce ski pressure. I dont typically have very much preload on it which gives me optimal steering. I also have a 600r and have found snowtrackers to work really well on it. Its not as heavy as the 850 so this is a good solution I am finding. Mike

    @dinodedes2911 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do u guys switch to a heavier spring?

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Dino! Great question. The answer depends on your sled habits - are you buying a new sled and running it for multiple seasons? trading in every year? buying a used sled? For us, because we are trading every year, we just up the preload on the rear spring to 4 or 5 and it is just the right among of rear sag for our weight. Having said that, the higher the preload on the spring, the sooner it wears out and needs to be replaced. So if I was keeping my sled for 3 seasons, I would definitely switch to the heavier spring. Because I am trading in yearly, popping it up to 4 or 5 does the job perfectly, doesn't cost me money, and I don't have to worry about longevity. Cheers, Jesse

    When setting up sag should you give the sled a few hops to get the sled to settle them measure the ride height?

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I get it to sit flat and pull up the rear so shock fully extends and then let it sit/sag on its on. Cheers, Mike

    • @joetech4054
      @joetech4054 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, do not hop on the sled after you get on. That will artificially compress the suspension and give a false sag measurement. Get on and sit normally like he did in the video. Cheers!

      @denniswilder3014 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@denniswilder3014 I’ve always used the “do not bounce” method because that’s what l learned from service manuals and friends when setting up dirt bikes, street bikes, even mountain bikes. Nevertheless, your comment got me thinking and l went out to the garage and tried it both ways on my sled. Guess what? It didn’t make a significant difference either way. It sagged about 1/4” more when l bounced on it but that is probably just because a snowmobile skid has more stiction than other suspension systems. I’m 51 and still learning new things every day!

    • @sledaddicz
