    This is the most honest reviewer of gym equipment on TH-cam. I've watched lots of reviews for this unit, and this is the only one that mentions the problem of the cable coming off the the track (15x!), and the arms moving during use. Thanks.

    For a fix on the self racking when you go no hand use a magnet that is just strong enough to keep it from going forward shouldn’t affect anything else either

    quick question if you don't mind. i like this set up. what distance do you have between the two upright posts and the wall? i'm measuring out my gym and need to figure that out.

  • @collinsmith1345
    @collinsmith1345 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can use a mini band to help hold the safety arm in place when doing hands free sets. Good review though! Just ordered mine. How long did it take to get yours?

  • @DrMerlin62
    @DrMerlin62 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video! To solve the problem with the lever arm safety being accidently engaged I purchased a pack of neodymium magnets on Amazon for about 10 USD. I place them on the handles so that they almost touch the upright when the lever arm safety is unlocked. This provides the perfect amount of hold so that the lever arm safety will not fall forward but is still easy to push the handles to engage the lever arm safety. You can also use minibands to hold the safety lever arm in the unlocked position. The safety bands also allow you to automatically unlock the lever arm safety when you lift the weight trolley which is nice if you are holding something like during a goblet squat.
    That is strange to hear that the cable is coming off the pulley. I have not had that happen on mine with use multiple times per week over the course of several years now. Is the cable retainer spacer installed on the bottom pulley? It's listed as item number 32 in the Rhino standalone instruction manual. If the cable retainer spacers are installed, I'm not sure how the cable could come off the pulley, but I would definitely contact Rogue Fitness about that. They might be able to help fix it.

    Great for an assistant exercise but it will never replace the barbell back squat mostly in low bar 😉. However it could be very useful for guys with severe chronic back pain

    • @PatrickReeves1
      @PatrickReeves1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes we swap it out with back squats depending on in-season vs off-season (we train a ton of athletes) but correct it’s mainly an assistant exercise. Great for low back guys, arm injuries, shoulder injuries. Also does way more than just belt squat.

    • @IamBlackMagic03
      @IamBlackMagic03 ปีที่แล้ว

      My back just doesn't like consistent squatting anymore. Years of powerlifting. So I squat for 2-3 weeks and then don't for 2-3. This would be awesome for those weeks I don't squat

  • @futbol1972
    @futbol1972 ปีที่แล้ว

    it looks like if you push your hips back you don't have a vertical cable anymore, looks like its pulling you at an angle. Some people had mentioned to me that it puts knee sheering no matter where you stand:( I have a bad knee and this is what's preventing me from getting rhino and the loading on vertical pin is preventing me from getting squat max. I guess nothing its perfect. lol. don't know which one to get yet

  • @futbol1972
    @futbol1972 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's crazy all the exercises you can do with the rhino it's a great machine. It's great at belt squats that's for sure. However, I dont know if I will buy it just for squats🙄
    About the other exercises you can do on rhino I can do them on my lat pull down or FT, curls, lat pull downs, cable curls, low rows l, let curls etc. However, something ideally like about rhino is that i can turn it into a reverse hyper... I do have 2 buldging disk in lower back and love doing belt squats and reverse hyper should help my lower back too🙂
    I iam buying rep pr4000 with ares.withing a month. I know as far as doing belt squats u can't beat the rhino OR squat max, however I believe I can mimic belt squats with a DYI belt squat system or with one of thoese leverage arm belt squats.
    I like the sorinex squat j squat.
    I know the angle it's a little different with leverage arm tha when squating with belt squats but for the price difference I think it's worth the shot?? I still like the rhino though. LOL
    Iam trying to convince my self not to buy it. Lol

    • @PatrickReeves1
      @PatrickReeves1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do still recommend this! I am not sure how that would work, you may have to bench outside the rack with safety spotter arms.

    • @futbol1972
      @futbol1972 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PatrickReeves1 yea I was talking about lifting/benching, incline and decline outside rack..but ur right to adjust the bench for incline I probably have to use spotter arms as jcups and that means I won't have spotter arms though

      Have u tried squat max md and if u have do you like rhino better? I have a bad knee and 2 low back bulding disk so i was wondering which one will be better as far as putting less pressure on knee? I like rhino but i dont think i will use it for anything else than squats/leg work and maybe for plate storage. I like squat max since its smaller and a little cheaper and i can do rows, hip thrust and other things however i need the pad. I think i will get the pad just for the hip thrust and seal rows even though i already have the goat. It looks like the squat max works very good for hip thrust, however i dont think goat works that good for hip thrust. Ive heard if i get some weigjts with grips or soacers its much easier on squat max. Also if i mout the plates right next to squat max to make loafint easier?

    This is the best review for the belt squat I have seen. You did a great job of showing pros, cons and uses. This should be getting all the views over the garage gym video reviews that get the equipment for free and give nothing but positive reviews. This needs to be easier to find.
