This is a cool configuration! I really like it! It adds a lot of versatility without increasing the footprint of the stand-alone unit. The Rhino is so much more than just a belt squat people...
I have a 4 post Frankenstein Rogue/Rep hybrid Rhino rack that I absolutely love. My space is somewhat small so it was important to get as much out of my configuration as possible. I have a YT video on it but my most recent videos/pics are on my Instagram. I treat the front posts like a half rack and work outside of it for my power rack lifts.
I do store all my plates on the rear posts and they don't get in the way. (I use some spacers on the weight horns to keep the plates from interfering with the Rhino arms) I use the front posts for attachments like spotter arms, utility bench, leg rollers, hip thrust bench, etc.
Well done video! You got my sub!
Let’s go!! Currently doing this right now! Perfect time. Thanks for the inspo
Glad I could help! Good luck on your build
Sweet gym!!!
Thank you!
Love all the rhino cameos
Oh you saw them! 😅
Nice setup for the Rhino, I like this better than the full cage version Rogue sells off the shelf.
I was gonna do the full cage version until I realized the front posts would be kinda useless and I wanted to add the spotter arms which couldn’t be done if the posts were there
Hi, is there somewhere that has the links to all the extra pieces/attachments you used for this configuration? Thanks!
Hey Jay! Would you be able to provide a list of all the add ons here? I am ready to order this, but want it just as you have it here with all the extras! I am sure there are others wanting a list too!
Yeah I’ll add to the description. 👍
Hey Jay! So when you list the Rogue Monster RM3 Rack 2.0, do we actually have to buy the whole rack? Or do you know if they will sell just the 2 uprights for the purpose of building your set up?@@jaycruz.threefold
Do you find that the uprights sway too much under heavy weighted pullups?
I have no choice but to go with the 90" because of ceiling height, the pull-up bar will still work, but just not at a desired height correct?
Yes, that would be fine. You’ll just have to bend your legs if you’re too tall.
Very informative video. Beautiful set-up. Can you do regular barbell squats on the Rhino platform or do the horn/trolley/handles get in the way of unracking and re-racking?
You could but I wouldn’t recommend it. I usually do a naked bar with the rhino just to keep myself in a squat position for training. I’ve never done it with heavy weight on the rhino
Hey Jay! Did you bolt this to the floor? Do you feel that is necessary?
If you plan on ever doing work off platform then you should absolutely bolt it down. If you’re on it and have the weight stored on the machine like I do, there shouldn’t be any issues. If you can bolt it down and don’t ever plan on moving it, the you should abide by the manufacturer’s guidelines. (They say to bolt it down)
Hey Jay! Thank you so much for list the pieces needed to get the whole set up!! So when you listed the Rogue Monster RM3 Rack 2.0, do we actually have to buy the whole rack? Or do you know if they will sell just the 2 uprights for the purpose of building your set up? What did you do with the remaining pieces of the RM-3 Monster 2.0?
You can email them and I’m sure they would accommodate. I think there are just uprights on the sight. I used the other two with my stall bar setup against the wall
Perfect Thank you!!@@jaycruz.threefold
Love this review. I wonder how good mornings would work using the belt higher up on back and bending toward the pulley. If you try it, please comment. (Maybe even stiff leg dl that way or Romanian dl's too) Anyways, looks good.
Yes I think the utility bench could actually make both of those an option. I’ll try it out!
I have been planning to get a rhino but I feel like it must be up for a refresh sometime soon. I don’t think it’s been updated since its been released.
They do have a few 2.0 machines. I don’t see what they would improve upon with this machine. I’m also not an engineer for these types of things. 😅
@@jaycruz.threefoldI would love if they could figure out a way to fixture the pulley to simulate a pendulum squat, hip thrust, and hack squat. I feel like the squatmax HD has more built in versatility that can be leveraged in a Rhino 2.0.
Hey Jay! What height of Uprights did you get for yours here? I know you bought the RM-3 but what height are your uprights?
I got the 100" Height. The 90" is too short for the pull-up bar because the Rhino platform starts at around 6" off the ground. you could go with the108" if you have the room and are over 6' tall.
I have no choice but to go with the 90" as our ceilings are to low. That pull-up bar will still work, but will just be lower than desired right?
@@jaycruz.threefold
nice versatility with the rogue rhino but I think your prime fitness machines do a better job with those type of movements done in the rhino.
Definitely true. I was demoing mostly what I did before I got the other machines and what other people could use the rhino for if they don’t have other machines
They didn’t want to sell you just the pair of uprights?
I used the other uprights for some other things. I had plans for all of it before I purchased
@@jaycruz.threefold got you. Have you ever considered adding trolley arms to these rhino uprights? Or would they not be a good fit due to the elevated platform?
@@stevefridman yeah it wouldn’t work well for that reason and potentially tipping over
Wife says I can get it if you pay for it. Send CC to me please
Haha! When I become big time I’ll consider it. 👍
Bro..the belt is not suppose to be worn on your lower back but on your hips because of sheer force on your spine. The Rogue belt being so stiff doesn't allow it to stay low on your hips and moves up as you squat. At least not until it's worn in pretty good. The Spud Inc belt is much better.Don't take my word for it...th-cam.com/video/xa3iXZhrtNA/w-d-xo.html
Great tip. So I gotta use the Rogue belt until it’s worn in. I have a Spud Inc belt as well
Btw how long before you can no longer resist and give in to adding the plate loaded Prime Seated Row and Incline Bench ;)
@@danielxavier2701 bro I’ve been eyeing those. Don’t temp me
ALWAYS BUY THE STAND ALONE. There's no reason to buy the drop in unless you're rich and you just don't want the extra pieces. If you want the rack, then just buy a rogue rack and the stand alone it's almost the same price, and you get the extended feet for "free" which are like $200+ anyways. Why buy the stand alone? because you might decide that having your rack extend out an extra 48-60 inches is taking up too much room and you'll want to take the rhino out and have it be stand alone and just have a 4 post rack that is a lot closer to the wall. With the stand alone you get 4 extra pieces you get the extended stabilization rack feet, AND most importantly you get the 76" uprights that they custom make for the rhino. YOU CANNOT get rogue to make custom height uprights. I've tried a lot, so those two pieces you cannot go back and buy, and if you do it will be at a more significant cost than an extra $20-$50. Also if you decide to sell your rhino ever the person you are selling it too will not need a rack, so you have more potential to sell it as well.
