    I needed this video. I’ve seen this machine at my gym and had no idea what it was, but it’s exactly what I need. I have a very hard time doing traditional squats due to lower back issues. I’m excited to use this machine next leg day!

      Hey Dalton! Really happy you found the information helpful! I have back issues as well, but with this machine, I'm still able to train legs effectively, with zero back pain. Check out some of the other videos I did for more helpful tips

      Same as well. Even lower weight. Nags at my back. Takes the fun out of exercise. Going to switch to this

      Try hitting the roman chair for back extensions and hamstring work before and in between squat sets. Really helps.

    Where you connect the belt actually impact which muscle fibers fire off most. Something I learned from a client when trying to show them our facility.

    I'm a low bar (hip/posterior chain dominant) squatter, and I'm experimenting with using belt squats to target my quads more, and overcoming that urge to lean too far forward on the ascent of the squat (screws up my bar path and makes the lift unnecessarily hard on my back). My quads burn like heck when doing belt squats, even with a light weight.

    I love this over traditional back squats. No pressure on my lower back, and it works just as well. My pilates works my core, and if needed, I can do hip thrusts to work the glutes. I feel my whole legs working with pit shark squats. We would not be doing back squats. Our backs are not designed to support weight like that.

    Thank you for this because I’ve used this with my coach and I want to use it without her hooking me up… lol I’ve went to the gym solo one day and just looked at the machine and walked away 😂 like “ what if I hook it up wrong and end up hurting my self 🤦🏽‍♀️”

    weight horns are so much closer to the pivot point giving you a large mechanical advantage. Force on the belt is about 1/2 of the weight plates.

    Where do I buy a dip belt that's strong enough to perform these heavy belt squats? My dip belt is only rated for 80kgs

    Damn, I gotta find one of these machines somewhere around my area in SoCal. I have weird proportions to where when I try to back squat, I can't lean back like everyone else I see. I'm pretty much leaned almost all the way forward, chest damn near facing the ground. I've had trainers tell me to keep my back straight and chest up, so I'll tell them to stand behind me when I try, so when I tip backwards right away, I can fling the weight back at them. It just doesn't work at all for my body type, so this machine seems perfect to still be able to get the effect.

      I had that problem too. It took over a year to be able to lean back and get my form right. Having this machine is nicer that back squats though.

    Can you get full depth? Hamstrings covering calves for maximum quad stretch? With this device, not your personally that is

      Yes, I was doing ATG on this yesterday. You just have to hook the belt around your waist so that the chain which attaches to the machine is shorter.

    How does the weight translate on the pitshark. For example... if someone squats X amount on back squat they could probably squat Y amount on the pit shark

      I have a bad Lower back and I’m doing this now. It works great for me I’m just curious how strong my legs are. I’ve only measured them w back squat

      It's waaaaaayyyy easier. For reference max back squat is about 500 on the pit shark can easily do 675 for reps

      @@jakewolfe7588 you can do 675 for reps? That’s insane. Any tips for building leg strength like that without doing back squats? I have a bad back. Right now I do 4 sets of 30 reps of front squats with a kettle bell. 30lbs right now, my goal is 100lbs.

      If you’re using this machine it’s not about loading stupid amounts of weight, it’s about range of motion and squeeze and really controlling the weight all the way through the motion. You’re going to get such a great pump and great development from this machine without damaging your spine. Such a great machine.

    This is really weird. When i use this machine 200kg for 14 reps a piece of cake. I think the only downside to this machine is that, PLEASE GET A REALLY STRONG BELT.
