    Also, I’m not sure if you mentioned this or not but because the calibrated plates are so much thinner the entirety of the weight is going to be further away from the end of the sleeve. This is going to cause the bar to whip less. So, if you compete in powerlifting and you’ve been training with standard plates you might be thrown off on competition day when the bar isn’t whipping like you’re used to. This could be especially problematic on deadlifts. If you don’t compete in powerlifting I don’t think this aspect matters much.

    Thanks for the awesome review! Literally just bought a whole set of these plates except for a pair of 5 lbs... those are still out of stock. Been waiting for A VERY LONG TIME for them to be in stock again. Such beautiful plates, and if you’re like me where the quality and style of your equipment you use makes a huge difference, then they are absolutely worth it. Work out to look sexy, might as well look good while doing it. Very motivating. #homegymgains

    How do you call a metal weight calibrated an be 20g off?

    • @GarageGymGainz
      @GarageGymGainz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Their guaranteed tolerance is +/- 10 or 20g, but most will be even less than that. 20g is nothing....

    I don't know of any cheap plates that are that far off, by several pounds, to skew a lift. Most are fractions of a pound off if that.

    • @GarageGymGainz
      @GarageGymGainz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've only weighed a handful of plates, and I've seen a few that have been at least 2lbs heavy or light. That's not a big deal if it's one.... but (in an extreme case) if you have 5-6 plates on one side that are 2+lbs heavy, and all of the others are 2+lbs light, that'd be a 20+lb difference from side to side.
      Now obviously that's pretty unrealistic, and I'm not saying everyone should run out and buy calibrated plates, but it's something to consider.
      Weighing the plates and marking them is always a solid move!
