Yeah, it would;d have been interesting to see how the original speaker was mounted to the original bracket. I'm going to try and use the original bracket to keep the depth true to factory specs. I understand there isn't provisions for screws to attach the speakers, thinking they were siliconed to the bracket? Maybe you still have one you could look at to verify? Projection is everything, if the speaker is to far back there will be allot of loss.

You could just take the whole regulator panel off. Then it would be possible to fix the speaker adaptor to the same panel with bolts and nuts. With the adaptor in plasce, just drill pilot holes and fasten the speaker with those included screews trough both the adaptor and regulator panel. Right?

Possibly so, I don't know. I never thought to try that.

Looking to swap out the OEM speakers, as I just got a '13 Elantra limited without the nav unit and was wondering if these Kenwood's sound good / have decent enough bass when powered from the factory head unit?

The Kenwoods I put in here sounded quite a bit clearer than stock, but you're not going to get any decent bass from that stock head unit.

@@jcx2bby thanks for the reply. I guess that's fair, it pushes what, like 10-15w rms to each speaker? If that. Honestly the ones currently in it just sound like a garbled mess, so $100 for a set of 4 of these plus the brackets and wire adapters (thanks Crutchfield) will be good enough. I just don't really feel like messing with the stock head unit, but if I can find the patience to wire in the steering wheel controls then maybe I will at a later date. Or just get a decent sub at some point.

@@couriersix2443 I think you'll be happy with the upgrade. The factory speakers are just made out of nothingness. The Kenwoods have quality to them. Good luck.

@@jcx2bby Lucked out, and mine had torx screws instead of rivets. After going thru the trouble of buying a drill lol. Oh well, it'll come in handy for future projects. I am indeed pretty satisfied with the end result. Mids/highs are MUCH better, and bass seems to have improved by at least 10% or so. From my experience, 6x9s and dedicated subs seem to be the best way to add any significant bass to a system. So I'll probably be going for a sub I can fit under the one of the front seats or behind the rears/in the trunk next. Thanks again for the video, it helped me save quite a bit of time on this endeavor

@@couriersix2443 a d is always good to have on hand. Glad you didn't have to mess with the rivets, sheesh what a pain. Congrats on the solid upgrade, keep it going, and thanks for updating me.

If you mean the plastic ring, that came from crutchfield as part of the mounting kit.
