Nice DIY video! thanks, just to complement, before start I recommend to open the cap of the brake fluid and check the level everytime you push the piston, this is to take care of the system, thats why you saw some fluid leak. Thanks again for the video.
I know this was posted 6year ago but you should never use copper grease and use normal grease on the calipre slides as normal geese as a higher boiling temperature than copper grease and copper grease can cause the calipre slides to seize up I have done sevral cars that this has happened to but everything else was very helpful
Thank you for your comment. I do agree with you. This video is mainly on how to do the job to save money for labour. I think you are right. At the time I went to Canadian Tire and was advised to use copper Anti Seize by their mechanics and they gave me the one that said “Anti Seize” on it But once I did my car I started digging around more and even tho a little bit of copper anti-seize is ok but silicone based grease is the best. I will mention this as a highlight so others can see :)
I just went to a mechanic that advised me to replace both pads and disks. Did you notice a metal lip at the edge of the disks? Do the disks really need to be replaced or can I just replace the pads? Did the pads fit indie the disk's outside edge metal thin lips?
Hi. I did notice the edge, and it is recommended to change the disk. But the car was fine with the pads only. And after that I did another 50k kilometers and had no issues . But if the car is around 110k kilometers I would suggest to change the disks. Maybe someone who has a better knowledge can also help in this comment.
Thank you for taking the time to make video. This helped me so much! I have CLA250 2015 model. I have 20,546 miles on it and its time to change my breaks already. At what millage did you change yours?
Thanks for this. Be careful when you push the piston back in. If the brake master cylinder has been topped up with the pads worn, when you push the piston in the fluid comes out of the master cylinder ... "Voice of Experience"
S. Price hello. They are Mercedes pad. I figured the parts arent that expensive from the dealer and I wanted to have the warranty in good standing so I used their own pads.
Tyler Larson hello the rotors are very easy to remove. All you have to do is to remove another two screw at the back of the caliper and then once the whole caliper system is out you need to use a torque screa driver and unscrew the only screw that is holding the rotor. I might upload a video if I still have any since i sold this car and now own a BMW.
Awesome man, hope you're enjoying the Beamer! I plan to do the job in the next few months and will see if I can record one as well. Should be fairly straightforward after following these steps to get the calipers off. Thanks again mate.
Tyler Larson, thqnk you, yea im enjoying it alot. Each car has its unique characteristics. good luck. It will be very easy to do. You will enjoy doing it.😊
Hi fernando. since I haven't got to the stage of changing the rotor yet. But I think this can help. You need to remove the Calipers off your disk, there are two other screws holding your caliper to the plate behind your disk. once you remove the caliper you can remove your disk by unscrewing the single screw on your disk which is located between the five holes where the wheel nuts go through. I hope I didn't confuse you lol.
joey cannon hello sure. I just sold my CLA. I loved it so much. It was a fun car and an absolute head turner once you do stuff to it. Now I got a BMW 3 series and I am impressed with the interior of it. You can message me and I will reply.
Hello , It should be the same way for rear break pad as well. you only need to untie the two bolts at each end and take the pad out. for changing the disk I will make a video for front and back wheel as soon as I get time with in this month. dont forget to subscribe to stay posted
Erick Dominguez hello. Yes tgey were purchased from the dealer. I jeard if i used parts that were after market it could cause tge warranty to void. But if i didnt have the warranty concerns i would of get after market ceramic pads. Because the original pad has lots of break dust and finishes quicker.
Euphoric Family oh my!!! Thank God for me reading the comments because I was about to try to go the cheap route and buy the cheaper parts. But I’m already saving so much doing it myself that the extra dollars can go towards what would be better in the end
thank you for watching the video, U havent done the rear yet, but for video purpose I will do it probably in two weeks, it is harder now since the weather is cold in Canada. dont forget to subscribe please ;)
fernando alanis my apologies for not having the video for rear caliper ready yet. At the moment in very busy with university exams and moving out. Also my break pad for rear is not due yet. But i will try to do the video for you anyway as soon as i find time . Thanks
hippyEntertainment changing rotor depends on the way you drive. If tge rotor is thick enough you can still use it. Usually you can go through two to three brake pads until its tine to change the rotor . Also if you forget ti change the rotor, you will know if its time to change when you feel vibration when you brake or when you hear a heavy noise . Also changing the rotor is easy. Im making a video soon for you guys.
My friend DO NOT USE anti seize on your pin!……this is no lubricant…..you got to use the copper one behind the disc or on wheel hub….for next time removal to be easy!
I don't wanna be disrespectful but please hear me out you shown us had a change brake pads on a beautiful Mercedes Benz I hope the guard that you wash it right after you change your brake pads because by the looks of it there is more dirt on the car then the brake pads 🤣🤣🤣🤣
JOE BILLINGS hahahahaah. No my friend its not disrespectful at all. You wont believe things I dis with that car. My girlfriend is country girl and Im a city boy so I drove once or twice a week for 2 hours just to visit her and come back another 2 hours. So I was driving this car like a country boy for a while until she moved in with me in the city.😅😂😂
👎🏻It is strictly forbidden to lubricate the guides with copper grease; the rubber boots will swell and be thrown into the trash. for guides only special lubricant.
Your video helped me out to replace my 2014 Mercedes CLA 250 front brake pads, all your instructions were very clear and easy to follow, Thanks! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Glad I could help :)
Enjoy your amazing car 🚗
Very easy to understand. Thank you for the step-by-step procedure. Now we can save money on the labor!
San Jamb glad you like the video. Thank you for the compliment. Definitely saving is great!!!
Thanks for the video! Going to change mine soon and this just saved me a lot of money. 👍
paintballplayer31 you are more than welcome. Good luck :)
I don’t know much about brakes. A friend mentioned u may need a computer to complete this job. Is that true ?
Nice DIY video! thanks, just to complement, before start I recommend to open the cap of the brake fluid and check the level everytime you push the piston, this is to take care of the system, thats why you saw some fluid leak. Thanks again for the video.
thanks alot for your time and advice. I will take that in consideration next time ;)
Great vid. What is the torque specs lbs on them caliper blots ?
Thank you so much. I didnt torque mine but when I search online it is mentioned 156 lb
Thank you for sharing,it's easier than I thought. :)
Irish Stock my pleasure. Its very easy. Mechanics make it look hard lol

Superb. I think Mercedes want about £200 to do that in the UK.
Can you make a video on how to replace the rear pads
I just went to a mechanic that advised me to replace both pads and disks. Did you notice a metal lip at the edge of the disks? Do the disks really need to be replaced or can I just replace the pads? Did the pads fit indie the disk's outside edge metal thin lips?

@@PrintMeLogo Mine has only 60.000km so probably would be ok just replacing pads.... I might change the brake disks at 110k km....

I am happy that you liked it . I changed it at around 35000 kilometers
Thank you very much for your very plain lecture. Than a Japanese CLA fan.
Thanks for uploading. That CLA looks like it's 20 years old. Do you take it off roading?
Hahahaha. Yes I drove it everywhere in every weather conditions lol. I abuse my cars
😂
Aaron Kark no problem. :)
Thanks for this. Be careful when you push the piston back in. If the brake master cylinder has been topped up with the pads worn, when you push the piston in the fluid comes out of the master cylinder ... "Voice of Experience"
You just saved me $560, thank you
Idris Shamad no problem. Im glad I could help. Sold this car so my videos from now on could be BMW related since I switched to BMW.
awesome video. thanks for the hardvwork
Thank you
Are those Mercedes pads or Autozone pads? Only asking since it has the Mercedes symbol on it. Going to try this today. Thanks for your video!!
S. Price hello.
They are Mercedes pad. I figured the parts arent that expensive from the dealer and I wanted to have the warranty in good standing so I used their own pads.
Thank you!!!very good DIY video
גבי דברשוילי thank you for watching. My pleasure
i think you will find that the 17mm is for whole brake assembly. then you can remove rotors.
Im going to use it to change my rotor today :) .
haider firas did you ever make a video on doing the rotors?
Appreciate the video, preparing to do this myself. By chance, do you have a video of removing the rotors as well?

Juelz 45 hahahahaha. Well currently is sold and I bought a BMW .
Good job👍👍👍
HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE ROTORS

OK THKS
Ok great
Much appreciated mate!
Hey man, did you have to clear the brake pad wear code or did the message go away automatically after you replaced them?
hello, the message went away automatically, dont for get to subscribe for more related videos.:)
I'm going to be getting a cla 2014 in about 6 months any tips and would you be able to msg me I have some questions
joey cannon hello sure. I just sold my CLA. I loved it so much. It was a fun car and an absolute head turner once you do stuff to it. Now I got a BMW 3 series and I am impressed with the interior of it. You can message me and I will reply.

were your brakes purchased from Mercedes benz dealer ? I'm trying to save a buck as ill have someone doing them for me.

You didn’t release the brake fluid reservoir lid. The liquid you heard was possibly brake fluid pushing past the seal in the lid. Useful video tho.
Awesome.
Thank you For or your advice. :)
nice vid, but I thought CLA has dual piston caliper on the front. I'm a little bit disappointed lol
Ryan Lu yes it is single piston. The BMW 3 series I got has a daul piston. But the cla has the vented disk and the BMW doesnt. So its 50/50 I guess.
HOW ABOUT THE REARS
thank you for watching the video, U havent done the rear yet, but for video purpose I will do it probably in two weeks, it is harder now since the weather is cold in Canada. dont forget to subscribe please ;)
ok great thks

no problem ;)
By the looks of it it looks like you ride that break too much🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thought you had to replace rotors when you replace pads especially fronts. You can get away with the rear pads only.

GOOD LUCK THE GRINDING NOISY OR SQUEALING DUE TO NOT RESURFACING OR REPLACING THE ROTOTS...
Better off taking the caliper bracket off before you clean it especially with the rotor still there. Lol no rotor respect bruhh
