Thank you for the video. It was really helpful. I’ve started maintaining and fixing my GLA250. I am going to be replacing my brake pads and rotors. I am thinking about replacing the rotors with the Brembo sport /drilled holes type.
Thanks much...I wasn't sure if replacing the rotor would necessitate swapping wheel bearings...this helps and 1 hour job in the morning. Wife's 2015 GLA 250 seems to have warped rotors as when braking, brake pedal and steering wheel shudder. Will also check tie rods and any looseness in the wheel once raised up off the floor.......pull push at 6 and 12 o'clock, push pull on wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock positions, check for any looseness in steering assembly or wheel bearings. Only 65k on this GLA and plenty of metal on rotors thus the additional concerns. Picked up some vented rotors from NAPA and may turn down the OEM rotors on lathe at work if I can find high and low spots. my lathe out 5 thousandths but good enough. Always seems to me OEM steel is better than aftermarket steel for the rotors....on the other hand....why the shutter at 656k.
Those looked rough! How do you know what kind of shape the guide pins are in? Do they need to be cleaned and re-greased? I personally remove the caliper from the caliper bracket first, and then remove the caliper bracket from the hub. That way I can inspect and service all the pieces.
For myself I would always go that extra mile and inspect, clean and re-grease the caliper slides. Perished rubbers are hard to spot. Might as well as you've got it apart already? How you take them apart would give you extra purchase and prevent stressing the electrical and hydralic connections when working but its all down to the individual in the end.

Anyone know what the torque setting is for bolting the caliper back in place? I've heard one person mention 130nM but nothing certain.

Take the caliber slide off clean and use good anti seize
dont forget phone and ok buttons together to activate brake off
Do you have to replace the disc everytime you replace the pads? Didn't on my other vehicles.
No. As long as the rotors aren’t worn.
