    Nice. Different people want different stuff from their system, and local conditions change often, so it's good to be able to adjust your system whenever you want.

    Thanks again, Rodney! My exact setup, except my battery stopped working after two days; I didn't even have a load on it. Signature Solar escalated me to tier two, but I haven't heard from them in over a week.

      Wow thats crazy? So what exactly happened? No voltage, no communication, etc? Did you try and update the firmware and it had a problem maybe?

      You can contact Jessica Jayne from SS on facebook to get a quicker response. She might be on the diy solar forum as well.

      @@rodneyhunt I was going to update the firmware, plugged up the rs232 cable and noticed the screen on the battery flickering. Never got to the point where you are able to update the firmware, though. Hasn't turned on since. Tried charging with solar and AC and even isolated it, but it still won't turn on. I read one other thread that was similar to this and their bms went bad. Thanks for your suggestion and contact!

    Great videos Rodney! Thank you for all your content! If you didn't connect the critical loads panel and were to just connect the 18k to the main panel, do you know if the 18k will recognize once the main breaker is shut off and switch over to battery automatically?

    • @rodneyhunt

    Hey Rodney,
    1. How can I manual switch from grid to inverter and back at will?
    2. How can I set my inverter up to automatically switch from inverter to grid at a predetermined SoC, charge the batteries to a predetermine SoC before automatically switching back to inverter?

    • @rodneyhunt
      @rodneyhunt  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If I understand you correctly you should just be able to change your discharge SOC setting. Then when it is below. That you will use the grid or PV if you have it.

  • @fullyelectric
    @fullyelectric หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    @rodneyhunt can you do some more testing please, since I found out the part that is labeled “LOAD” on the 18Kpv is actually UPS load, can you turn off the grid (turn off the main breaker) and see if all the devices in the main panel still gets power? Doing so with “no export setting” and if you can get something on the “UPS Load” aka critical panel and see if devices in that panel remain on. Also do you have video of the CT’s you installed in the main panel?

    Would be interested in hearing if you like your inverter setup more or their single 18kpv? I am still deciding between 3 6000xps or a single 18kpv. I’d like a 30kwh battery backup. Living in Arizona. 4K sqft home with two ACs, two fridges, No EV car but I have a 240v infared sauna. Usage is averaging around 40-55kwh daily and sometimes triple that in the summer

    • @rodneyhunt
      @rodneyhunt  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Well I like having the 18k of output from the 3 6000xp’s but the functionality of the 18kpv feeding back into the main panel with grid is pretty awesome! Maybe the new 12kpv will come out soon with the right specs and price. Maybe you can get two of those for higher output power and hopefully 18k features. But you never know until it is out. I need the bumped up output for my setup but one 18k might work for you

    Hey Rodney did EG4 technicians explain what the CT settings do? Especially the power offset I know you said you have yours set at -40. Did they give you an explanation why or what that adjustment does? John

    • @rodneyhunt
      @rodneyhunt  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it just changes sensitivity based on its location, interference, is my guess. Did not get a complete explanation except that they usually do that if you put CT’s in inverter cabinet instead of main grid panel. But they didn’t say to change it back once I said it was in main panel

    • @rodneyhunt
      @rodneyhunt  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Will ask for a better explanation

    • @TheJR914
      @TheJR914 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Okay on that and thanks for the reply. I am trying just to use my grid for charging my batteries which is very rare and using the CT portion of the 18k to cancel out my air conditioner compressors. I have three central AC unit.in my home all the air handles are running on Solar two of my compressor are on the grid there are 2 and 3 ton units. I tried lowering the CT metering from -40 to -10 and I saw the 18k feeding my grid about 300 watts but I would like to know what I am changing in my 18k. I am very surprised that there is nothing in the manual explaining anything about the CT metering. O well i guest I will keep changing a little at a time to see what happens. ( Hopefully no smoke 😮). I will check the Lux Power site and see if I can get more information. In the past I have use a Sun GTL 2000w to field my grid and that worked well with the two EG4 6000ex setup I had before. Okay thanks again for your time. John

    Good video Rodney, I have a critical load panel setup also. Eg4 told me to set the "Max. Ac input Power (KW) to 80% of my critical load panel main breaker. Did they tell you this also?

    • @rodneyhunt
      @rodneyhunt  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No but I didn’t ask about that. I will just have a lower load on that panel when I move loads over. Still just running back into main panel now to supplement the grid. When I get more panels installed I will move critical loads over

    Nice informative video Rodney. I have a 18k having problems with setting up the grid tie for battery charge only plus what ever power needed for my grid draw. Talk to tech-support at signature Solar which was a complete waste of my time. No you know how to contact EG4 Electronics for a reasonable response time? I have sent a email on their web site but no response. Any information would be appreciated. John

    Hey Rodney, I know the 18KPV has an IP65 whether proof rating, but are you concerned about driving rains, eg hurricane or tropical storm?

    • @rodneyhunt

      We have had some serious thunderstorms since installation and no problems. But we do have the solar patio covering it so some weather should be fine. Direct sunlight is the biggest concern from what I understand
