Will Prowse mentioned this back in January at the inter solar Conference but this is the first time I have seen it anywhere else from EG4. Looks like they are testing it now from the video showing it mounted.
I was on the installer call a couple months ago and was told that an 8k was coming out.... they didn't know when. I definitely want one or two for my system. I'm currently running 2 6kxp with a extra charge controller. I'm running 54 400watt panels. Be great to have all the panels reported. The charge controller doesn't report. I really like your videos Rodney. I've set up a 4k electric boiler in my shop so when my batteries get to 55.2 volts the boiler kicks in for the annualized geo solar heating and shuts down at 54volts or 4pm. Basically this is in floor heat but the tubes are a foot under the concrete so I can store heat in the soil for the winter. Using the soil as a thermal battery.
I just received my 18kpv. Went with it over 2 6000xps to simplify things a bit, screen, sealed construction among other reasons. This one 12 kpv may have been tempting if it was available but I am glad for the extra capacity the 18kpv has. I am very curious what the price will be. I don't know if it is possible but it would be amazing if eg4/Lux power could make all these units communicate so they could sync up charge controllers and distribute the AC output between them. I suspect that after maxing the pv on the 18kpv I may want more panels (and to a lesser degree inverter output). A 6000xp or 12kpv would be plenty to add without going with another 18kpv. Maybe the 18 and 12 could do this as they look like they could share many componenets. If nothing else it would really be a selling point for the EG4 brand.
luxpower manual for the 6000XP also shows as a grid tie hybrid unit...CT's plug into an R45 jack shown in the manual...would be nice if that feature was turned on through Eg4...
@Rodney dude they released the 12Kvp yesterday, are you getting one? Two weeks ago i called them about it and they told me they never hear of 12Kpv or even working on one!! And yesterday they drop a video EG4 =They and 4 other TH-camrs drop 12Kpv video the same day .. this means they all got shipped weeks ago to them, truly sucks as i wanted to wait to get that unit.
I purchased one yesterday to test. They are not allowed to put that information out unfortunately. Wish I could have gotten one early but my channel is too small I guess.
@@rodneyhunt yeah the channels that gotten the inverter two weeks ago are all 20k+ subs , still i find the way you do your videos and share the information is done better than even bigger channels .. so just keep doing what you do!! You will get there sooner than you think.
@rodneyhunt wow looking over the data sheet for the future 12kpv and the current 18Kpv the document shows “LOAD” is actually “UPS Load” and “GRID” is acutely your “Load” this is because the “GRID” input is also an output and thats acutely the main “Load” output .. it could get confusing because they did not change the tags on the inverter “Load to UPS Load” and “GRID to Load/GRID” anyways this inverter is amazing!!
The price is going to determine whether or not this will be a success. I can see this being a great alternative to the 6000xp for those that want to grid-tie, and a great solution for those wanting more current output when run in parallel vs a single 18kpv. I’d buy two of these over the 18kpv if the price is around $3300 each.
I agree. Super curious about the price. I just have to remind my self that there is always something new around the corner, or falling prices. I just bought 3 of their indoor batteries and a couple days later they price dropped, That won’t matter 5 years from now as long as it works.
I think your speculation is correct. It would fit the lineup and be perfect for those setups that need a little more than a 6k but not quite an 18k. I know we are fairly close to each other so if down the road you decide to sell one (or two) of your 6k's I'd like to be first in line 🙂
This Luxpower hybrid inverter has been out for quite a while now under different branding. And depending on the price Signature Solar settles on, it may be worth looking at the NHX 10K hybrid inverter (true 10K output) from Watts247 for $2200 I believe. I think they have an 8K model too but it is not all the much less expensive if I remember right.
I enjoy watching your videos. I noticed when you were showing the page with the different split phase inverters there was one to the right of the 8-10k that was a 12k with its specs to the right of it. Could this be the one they’re eluding to? It’s max PV was 18k or is their lap 12k the EG4 18k?
It’s definitely a different unit in the middle. We will see when it is released but hopefully the same capability as the 18k at a lower price point and power output!
Why would anyone buy the 8kW trabsformerless inverter, when for a $1,000 less you can buy a true 12 kW, transformer based, inverter with a higher surge capacity, a longer life expectancy and galvanic isolation to protect your appliances or your EV against damage from errant DC current? Not me.
Personal choice. Everyone has the right to buy the best thing for them. Everyone doesn’t the same needs and I believe in the freedom to make your own decisions. So go after what you like for sure! 👍
@@rodneyhunt Sure, everyone has the right to throw their money away on anything they want in America. As the old saying goes, there's a sucker born every minute/
I’m glad you are free to decide. But I can’t force my opinions on you and you can’t force them on others. I appreciate that you are at least working on your own independence and freedom from the grid. To me that is the most important thing. More people free from tyranny! Regardless of it’s form. 👍

If you plan to sell your 6k ones or one of them let me know. I'll buy one. If you upgrade to the next ones.
I'm surprised it took this long for someone to make a video. EG4 has been dropping Easter eggs since the 6000XP was released.

That sounds cool. Do you have a channel showing that?
yea I'd love to see the details of that too
You were the only person that got this info right
Can’t wait for the 12kPV install and review
Thanks for the videos
🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Thank you! Can’t wait to test it out
Rodney you're fun to watch, can't wait to see the 12K reviews.
Indeed. Waiting on a few things first full review. Might do something quick with it first

Yeah maybe they can work together. Would be good to test out if they can!
I think with these new net metering contracts people want hybrids with strong zero export features. Hook up and get all the benefits off & grid tie
Yes. Some people trying to have emergency backups and save a few dollars when the grid is working

Nice. I wonder what the pass-through amps are..
90 amps if that luxpower amps are the same on the eg4 version but we will see when it comes out
Rodeny your are the man. Big thanks,

that's a nice unit...I'm waiting for more real life reports and I think that's what I'll get...$2200 is good value, if it's built solid...we'll see

Hi, can we get an update video for this inverter? compare your experiences with the other inverters

Me too! Need more people who are power independent
It's gonna be a 8K version. They've been working on it for a while.
That is what I think as well. 👍
I would like to see the 10K also come from EG4
You nailed it.
Hey thanks. I just ordered one to test out. The specs are great from what I see!
Rodney, what happened to the Calpha 10k?
Still using it to charge EV. I have been trying to wait until they get the wifi dongle working but they have not. Maybe get a video out soon
Sounds good.
Indeed! 👍
EG4... please send him one to test... 😊
Lol yes! That would be awesome
hopefully are top youtubers that do solar diy like will.rodney.Garvin and others will get one for review 😂
Send him two!
I am not in that group lol! But thanks
One to test and one to giveaway!
Good job 👍
Thanks 👍
I thought your right. Good catch
👍
Hopely 10+ output to be in the middle
That would be nice but I think it would be called the 15kpv or something . But you never know
Ac coupling?
It shows it in the manual but like I said pure speculation if this will have the same specs
I love the Ac coupling on the 18Kpv. My fan hardly ever turn on because my ac coupled inverter is doing all the work.
@@BY-tt3vc Hopefully it has most of the same functionality! It would be a hot item for sure if so!
I hope it's as SILENT as the 18k
Yes the 18k is awesome. Do not know it is on sometimes
LOL! 😂 silent??? I guess you guys dont use it over 5kW
No Load Power Consumption
👍
Hopefully will get to test one when it comes out
look up solark same inverters
