    Really loved how you showed the 6000XP hooked up to the 12Kpv. As well as the 12Kpv hooked up to the 18Kpv. Really interesting stuff and thank you for showing everyone this in a detailed way. Keep up the great content, Gavin!!

    That generator input being able to be used as a smart output is exactly what I need. Thanks for mentioning that! I want to run an electric boiler for in floor radiant heat in the new house I’m building and dump all excess power into the concrete slab to absorb during the day.

    My batteries are still not charging, with the new 12k. I'm thinking somehow my bms has all gone caput or my battery banks have gone bad somehow.
    They are only a few years old, and I'm using Overkill solar bms.
    They used to charge up to 55.5 volts where i had them set to and now only go to 52.8 and then drain rapidly overnight with the air conditioning going.
    Do you have any advice? Should i drain them really low and then try to charge them again?
    Thanks for sharing, and as always, keep building 👍

    • @GavinStoneDIY

      You can always email me also if you’ve got questions. You have the voltage parameters set correctly on the 12k?
      What does the overkill say on the cell balance? Maybe send me some photos. It’s unlikely the BMS or cells are bad. Probably just a balance issue. You could have one cell that’s gotten out of balance and it’s dictating what happens to all the packs.

    Hello Mr Gavin, thank you for the video on hooking up the LifePOWER4-V2 rack to the WallMount Indoor battery. My question is: If I upgraded to 18kPV with EG4-WallMount Indoor Battery, 48V from the EG4 6500ex inverter with EG4 LiFePOWER4 48V (not V2). Do you think I can add the older batteries to it for additional storage?

    • @GavinStoneDIY

      @@melflores4873 you can yes. You just wouldn’t have communication to one of the batteries. Technically the wall mount or the pro batteries can be paralleled with each other without an issue. They just can’t communicate with each other.

      @@GavinStoneDIY thanks. what about monitoring voltages, temps, etc?

    • @GavinStoneDIY

      @ you could monitor voltage using a shunt and solar assistant. Or you could monitor the voltage on whichever pack you choose. If it’s the pro battery the inverter will read the voltage of that battery, while the lifpwers are just in the background without communication. But they are still charging and discharging with either the pro battery.

    Nice video!!!! Nice to have so many options...
    I think (and it's just my opinion) that if you use the inverter with the highest power as master, the others will just follow at their maximum power output available, if needed...
    I would put the 18Kpv as master and parallel it with 12Kpv and 6000 Xp inverters... that way you wouldn't lose the 18 Kpv's maximum output and benefit from the other two inverters maximum power as well... just how I see it...
    Thanks!!!

    • @GavinStoneDIY

      Yeah that can be done like I showed in the video. Honestly though I’d prefer to actually parallel them. That way they are communicating and they’d share the load output. As opposed to only being used when one inverter maxes out.
      So we’ll see what EG4 comes up with to parallel all the units together hopefully.

    Will this start a 5-ton AC w/soft start surge of 50a? Is that the purpose of the 80a pass-through?

    • @GavinStoneDIY

      It will yes. I’ve seen a test showing that. I would always recommend a soft start for your ac though.
      The point of the bypass is for that type of scenario yes. But since this is a hybrid it can also blend grid and solar power together. So there is multiple options.

    Hey, I can't find anywhere of someone connecting 4 or 5 powerpro batteries in parallel to a singe 18kpv. My goal is to do it without a busbar but unsure if there is a reason everyone seems to stop with 3?

    • @GavinStoneDIY

      The manual states 3. So they won’t recommend more. But if it’s a single 18kpv then it can’t draw or push more than 250 amps. So it wouldn’t be an issue if you connected 5.

    Can the 12kpv run with just one power pro unit or do you need more than that?

    • @GavinStoneDIY

      Yes one power pro is plenty to run the unit. After that it would just depend on how much extra storage you’d need for cloudy days and such.

    • @GavinStoneDIY

      @@NateMorello111 Will was likely talking about 2 rack batteries. Those are 100 ah each. So with 2 rack batteries you’d have 200ah. The pro battery is 280ah. So you can charge and discharge the pro battery at 200 amps. So that’s plenty to max things out even. Anything above that would just be for extra storage really.

      Thanks for the reply. I guess my concern is that in one of Will Prowse videos he mentioned if you were to hook up solar to the 12kpv you would need two batteries. But he might also may of been talking about maxing it out or something.

    dose it get loud? I need to install this in my basement which happen to be also my office, continous humming noise would drive me crazy, please let me know as my whole design might change based on your answer.

    • @GavinStoneDIY

      It would totally depend on how many watts of solar you’re taking in, and how many watts of output you’re using.
      If everything stays below 6kw or so then the unit won’t make any noise at all. It’s completely silent. But at full capacity it definitely will make noise. It has 4 fans. So when it’s maxed out you can hear it for sure.

  • @scottstankis69

    How loud are the units under load?

    • @GavinStoneDIY

      At full load they can get pretty loud.
      But it has to be beyond that to wattage threshold to make any noise at all.
      So it depends on the load really.

    I have 3ea 24volts 200ah EG4 batterries with my 24 volts growatt inverter for about 3 years now.
    I am going to upgrade to 48 volts set up with this EG4 12KPV inverter

    with the total of 400ah 48volts battery bank to power with the EG4 12Kpv inverter
    Is this SAFE and POSSIBLE , also , if battery monitoring works on series connection

      Yeah I know exactly how you feel. If you take your time you can wire everything up. The manual describes a lot of it. And there are lots of videos on TH-cam explaining how to do it.
      As far as expansion, it’s fairly easy to grow with this type of setup. There will always be new gear every year though as the industry grows. So at a certain point you have to get into the game. I struggled with the same thing.
