    You made the right choice. If you ask me to think of the seamaster, I'd be visualizing the blue one in my head. It actually looks incredible on you.

  • @pauledbrown

    I own the blue dial and my son has the white dial. Both are fantastic options. The white dial is a strap monster and my son wears it with about 6 different omega nato straps. The blue dial is hard to pair with different straps and looks best on a bracelet. It’s a very saturated shiny blue so it’s almost to blingy.

  • @M4NA5
    @M4NA5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Black and Blue are classic dial colors that hold the test of time. White, Green, etc. look great in the short term but they wear off pretty quickly in the long run.

  • @barrelbarrel1803
    @barrelbarrel1803 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I'm in a similar boat. I've held both the white and blue Seamaster 300Ps, and I think the white looks better objectively, but the heart calls for blue. I'm currently saving up for the blue.

    I bought the blue dial with stainless band 4 years ago, when it came out. I love it. I have 3 Rolexes, 2 AP, one Patek, 5 Breitling’s and a zenith. The blue omega is my daily. You made a great decision.

    I got the blue one and I'm glad I did. It's really '50 shades of blue', depending on the lighting conditions. It varies from deep dark blue, almost black, in indirect light to bright blue in direct sunlight. A friend of mine has the black one, and another friend of mine has the Tokyo 300M (blue bezel/white dial, with beautiful blue hands and indices). I think the Tokyo looks better than the standard white dial version, but in general a white dial lacks depth compared to the blue dial. There's less 'shade-effect' in the wave pattern which makes it appear flatter.

    • @BrokeWatchFanatic
      @BrokeWatchFanatic  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the Tokyo trumps the standard white as well. Can’t go wrong with any of these amazing models.

    I got the blue cuz it's the classic color. The white is badass, but you have a good point about what the youtubers (Adrian Barker, Harrison from Chisolm Hunter, etc) getting the white dial. I fell in love with the SMP from the Bond, and nothing was more badass then seeing Daniel Craig wear the transitional model in a tux in Casino Royale.

    Great stuff. Really appreciate the footage that shows the watch on the wrist. My wrist is approx 6.75 inches and I am pending between the current SMP in green or the 21230412001003 (previous model in glossy black). Seems to me that you preferred the older model in the beginning but then transitioned to the white one, the blue one and ended up selling all of them;) Is this correct? Tough choice, also for me and it's constantly developing

    Blue is definitely the best of the Omega Sea Master Colors, followed by the James Bond Black with Gold Accents. I just ordered my Blue Seamaster. Used to have one back in the late 90's after the 95 Bond Movie came out. Sold it and regretted it ever since. Now paying over twice as much for this new version and this time I will keep it as my to Go to Watch.

    6 & 1/2" wrist isn't all that large for a 6'2" man... I mean that's not a small wrist, but it's more so average. The nice thing about the Omega Seamaster is that it's well proportioned and the bracelet really softens up the size of the dial, given the bracelet is somewhat more refined than what you'd see in other dive watches.

    • @Pler1978
      @Pler1978 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      6.5 inch is definitely on the small side though it's a 42 mm so not too small. Wrist size has some relation to height but certainly not direct. 5 8 with 7.25 wrist and never thought that was a big wrist. One get to over 7.5 that is definitely on the large side

    I had blue and white at one point because I couldn’t decide. Kept the white because I couldn’t find any other better looking white dial watch. Sold the blue and bought blue Pelagos.

    • @BrokeWatchFanatic
      @BrokeWatchFanatic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve always wanted to try out the pelagos. Does the thickness bother you?

    • @Denhdenno
      @Denhdenno ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just sold my blue Pelagos to buy a blue Seamaster.
      The Pelagos blue is gorgeous, however three reasons made me want to sell it…
      1. For me the thickness, the case is thick all over across the 50mm lug width.
      2. The bracelet could tend to feel sharp.
      3. The non-ability to repair scratches on the titanium, where’s as on the stainless steel you can work them out. When the stainless watch goes for a service it will get polished and come back like new. Tudor won’t touch the titanium, it’ll return the same with all the nicks and scraps.

  • @Mega-zi7ys
    @Mega-zi7ys 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Absolutely correct. A lot of ppl who haven't seen/tried watches in the flesh judge them from wrist shot pics/videos. In reality you need to look at the overall proportions of the persons wearing them. Some might have tiny wrists but really wide body types, hence a smallish watch would look awful. Always try to step back and see yourself in a full length mirror.
    Proportions matter.

    I purchased this same watch new in black about 10 months ago. My only minor complaint is the steel bracelet. The edges of the bracelet on the inside all around the inside were it’s against your skin and wrist is too sharp. It’s really a disappointment that think about something so important. The comfort of the watch band. So I ordered a black rubber strap with deployment from an Omega Boutique. And it’s much more pleasurable to wear. I don’t wear my stainless steel bracelet on this watch

    • @BrokeWatchFanatic

    I feel like I should mention my height in a watch video. I’m 6’2. Yeah you heard right, I’m 6’2.

    The white smp looks a little larger than the blue and black ones

    Sorry man. Had to stop watching when another reference to James Bond was made. Nice watch though.

    Horrible looking watch because of the carbuncle of a helium valve.
    Other watches have it within the body which is far classier.

    Black SMP300 on rubber all day. Have not been able to stop looking at the dial. Also love the black/white/steel contrast. The dial pops like crazy in the light. The waves look gray against a super inky black dial. So good!! 🤌🤌

    It’s too bright, especially when in the sun it looks like an aquatic blue which is a turn off and the reason I sold mine. If they went back to navy blue and tapered they bracelet, I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

      I think a taper with similar bracelet design would look weird. They would have to design a different bracelet. I just wish they would make this a bit smaller. Go back to 41mm.
