I will be getting a Seamaster in two weeks ( the only question is color and bracelet or rubber ). Some forty years ago, my dad came home with an Omega and since then I have been fascinated by the brand. I was never able to afford a higher end watch all these years settling for cheaper options. Having celebrated my 50th birthday last year in the midst of the pandemic and unable to celebrate it in any meaningful way, I finally decided this year to get my dream watch - The Seamaster. I am so excited and am sure that I will enjoy it for a lifetime. This watch represents for me a dream of a lifetime and an homage to my father. Thanks again Teddy for another great review.
I have owned 5 Seamasters since I got into the hobby. Two Planet Oceans and three 300Ms. Not a single one had the bracelet. It is a subjective opinion for sure, but I have never liked Omega's bracelets. On the other hand, their rubber and nato straps are absolutely amazing. Enjoy your watch!
@@hugohernandez3651 Thank you for your opinion. I am certainly leaning toward the blue dial with the strap. I'm an informal guy and have never really been a bracelet guy
@@sumitkar2704 Ohhh man, that blue dial is sexy. Blue and the waves, like the ocean. Add the strap and nightglow, on point. Can see myself on the beach at night just enjoying the ambience. Torn between that or the speedmaster Moonwatch.
Hi, I got the Seamaster 300 Diver in blue on a bracelet a few years ago and its stunning, from the dial to the caseback and the excellent movement it is perfect. I dont have a large wrist but it wears more like a 40mm, get it on the bracelet, which is also excellent especially with sliding adjuster, then you can add another strap later if you want. Go for it.
As many have said buy it with the bracelet then add the rubber band which is cheaper than doing it in the reverse. Allows you to dress it up or down as needed. I have the white dial and currently using the black rubber and it just looks amazing. Enjoy.
I have the black dial and wear it every single day. Omega is less expensive, actually available, more accurate with METAS, and Omega boutiques make you feel like a King when you're there. Its seriously a no-brainer. I love the He valve precisely because it's pointless. It's unique and acts like that set of headlights on a car that make you recognize exactly what you're driving past on the highway even at night. The haters are usually Rolex snobs which means their opinion means precisely Jack poo to me. I don't care about resale. I don't care about clout. I want the best possible technical diving tool available at the price point and there is no denying that the Diver 300M is just that. Omega for life.
20 odd years ago when I bought my SMP the salesman put the sub right next to it and it just didn't compare in my eyes. The current watch is so good in every detail in my opinion. If shopping one the only issue is which color? They all look so good on wrist.....
True true and true but I own a Aquaterra 41 mm blue deck dial with the rubber blue strap love it my next watch will be the green if I can find one it’s a very hot item this days
Got the black dial about a month ago at a boutique. You’re correct about the boutique experience as well as the watch itself. So beautiful to look at. I got a black strap included with the purchase along with a spring bar tool and travel case. Let’s not forget the beautiful box (yes, I keep it in a closet LOL).
I bought this exact same watch 8 months ago-- I bought a Rolex Sub almost four years ago at retail before the world and market lost their minds... my Omega gets worn 3 times more than my Sub does--- it just wear better, and frankly looks better in my opinion. Here's my take... 5,000 is a lot of money for 98% of the population to spend on a watch (yours included). So to call this an "entry" in the luxury watch market I think is inaccurate; for many, (yours included) this price point is the high end of what they can spend on a watch and often times is the pinnacle or "grail" of their collection. -- The entry brand into "luxury watches" in my opinion would be TAG.... So if my assessment has any validity the reason Omega is doing so well lately is that the average consumer who wants to buy one luxury watch once in their lifetime and has a budget of 5-7k, where do they spend it? It's not going to be on a Rolex; not the way the market has been the last several years--- and right there waiting in the wings for these consumers has been Omega... they have been killing it the last 3-4 years... (off topic, I think the swatch Collaboration is going to pay huge dividends over the next decade for this brand too). Finally, you are treated exactly how you should be treated in an Omega boutique when you are dropping 5-8k on a watch-- like a king-- night and day better experience than when I picked up my sub at the Rolex AD---
Totally agree David. To say that 5k is entry level is a bit silly. That is more money than anyone needs to spend on a luxury item like a watch. Omega is just within reach for most who want that special watch. Tag was my entry in to luxury watches. Couldn't agree more with your comment
Honestly, I don’t want to hang around with those who consider amazing 5k watch like seamaster an entry level watch, it’s not If this marvel is an entry level for you, then you are detached from society and live in your own bubble, stay there alone 😅
Here here! Very well said. If someone considers an Omega an "entry level" watch by any means, snobbery is afoot and their opinion means nothing to me anyway.
Oris or Hamilton are considered entry-level. I own the latter in a GMT and I absolutely love it. Also, I've had zero problems in 7 years. Thanks, Hamilton!
I bought my Seamaster in 2001 and still wear it everyday. It’s tough, classic and can be used dressed up or down. It also cost $980 when I bought it duty free. I’m amazed at the prices for a current one.
I’ve had my Omega Seamaster 300 for 6 months now - blue dial on a blue rubber strap. I absolutely love it! It’s my everyday watch and it looks incredible.
@@Adonis8989define affordable? They retail for 3/4k depending on seller so whilst a bargain, i wouldnt shout it beint affordable. The truth is most luxury watches, (barring rolex and even they are taking a dip) will lose value from the RRP. The accepted statement tends to be buy what you love not what you thinks a good invesment... chances are it wont be.
I bought a 300M professional last year as my first luxury watch in the blue on a bracelet and I still absolutely love it. The pictures and videos do not do this watch justice. It is a fantastic watch. Beautiful. Accurate. I never understood all of the criticism with regards to the helium escape valve. It has never bothered me in the least. But to each his/her own. Some complain about the lack of taper on the bracelet. I did not even notice that until it was brought to my attention in someone’s video. One big plus is that you can walk into an AD or boutique and walk out with a watch with no BS and no games and no waiting list.
@@Lagerfanny-g7e never been scuba diving but I don’t wear it to make people think that I have. I wear it because I like the look and the build quality of it. And if you think it is a waste of money, you are certainly entitled to your opinion but I disagree.
The white 300M was my first real watch and I pair it with a red rubber strap which brings out the red accents on the dial (Seamaster writing and second hand) and I absolutely love it. Like you say, it's effortless enough to look casual yet classy with jeans and a T and is also flashy enough to dress up with a nice button down. Durable too, after 2 years of being my main daily wear it's showing only one fine scratch. Edit: I should also mention I bought it new and the purchasing experience at the Omega boutique was next-level. I was and am treated like a true and valued customer not someone that should be thanking their god for being allowed to enter the store and breath the same air as them.
Can we compliment Omega's genius marketing? My friends and I played Goldeneye relentlessly as kids and, while the watch from the game and movie are dissimilar, those skeleton hands were engrained in my brain from an early age. So much so that when I could afford my first special watch the seamaster was the only watch I wanted
I bought the white dial version this year and absolutely adore it. Forget Rolex and their ridiculous selling policies. The Seamaster is a proper watch!
Bring the size down to 40mm, remove the useless/ugly/poorly designed HEV, put sword hands on it, put a coin edge on the bezel, and remove the date window. Then it's a proper watch.
The Seamaster 300 was my first serious horological investment. I will admit, James Bond (Brosnan) did help with the draw to the watch, but after 20+ years of owning it, I can say the Omega is still with me and while it's not a daily wear, I do love when it's on my wrist and the overall love and connection to what it means for me to have it in my collection.
The helium escape valve is exactly the reason why I would buy this watch. This plus the wave lines on the dial is what gives the seamaster a distinct look over other dive watches.
@@tantheman1100 I scuba dive once and awhile and interested to test this baby out. Never went past 50m with watches I buy. Used an Invicta just cause I can toss it. Also I am a lefty, so doesn't bother me.
Not sure what you're looking for, but a green dial 41 mm aqua terra and a green 38 mm small seconds aqua terra would be a cool combo! And congrats on the anniversary!!!
I bought one of these on a whim and was absolutely blow away by how well it wears, how nice the finishing is, and how much it exudes a general air of quality and class. Nothing I've owned comes close (yet!).
Never understood the dislike in certain quarters for the bracelet. It’s one of the things I love about it. It’s finished beautifully. Couldn’t care less whether it’s perceived as dated. It’s one of the most distinctive bracelets out there.
I agree I live the way it looks and the non taper gives it much more support on the wrist taking away some of the weight and making it feel less "top heavy". I do with they would make it less "sharp" though lile the smoother feeling bracelet from the 90's. It's not difficult!
As much as I wanted to buy this watch, at the last moment, I decided to go with the Speedmaster Professional 3861 Hesalite version. My love for Omega started when my Dad introduced me to his watch some 40 years ago as outlined in my post below. My brother who is four years older than me came to the US from India to study Aerospace Engineering, as he was a huge fan of NASA and the moon landings. I still recall us watching the challenger launch as teenagers and the eventual tragedy. As i looked toward him, I could see tears streaming down his cheeks as he knew it was the end of NASA and the US space program as we knew it. The Moonwatch is an homage to my dad who inspired in me the love of Omega and to my brother who instilled in me the love of space. My brother told me a couple of weeks ago that he has a $$ figure in mind that he will pay for a commercial fight with SPACEX. The price of that commercial flight he figures will reach his tolerance level in the next 5 years. On that flight, he said he wants to be wearing my Moonwatch. How do you beat a story that comes full circle like that. It's what dreams are made of....
Funny thing is, myself being an owner of SMP 300 white, with all the videos and research I did, they indeed mentioned that the helium escape valve is not really noticeable while wearing. I agree with this so much, sometime I forget that it exist!! I am sure many will agree with me
Bought this exact one few weeks back as my first luxury watch. Looks absolute stunning on the wrist and the blue really pops in the light. Couldn’t be happier! Now looking at strap options to give it some more versatility down the track. Great review Teddy
The blue no wave has been my daily wear for almost 5 years. The slightly smaller size is perfectly suited for my wrist. The bracelet is so comfortable and the no-wave is just timeless and classy. I love putting it on every morning.
I bought the no wave right as this new design came out. I tried on both at the Omega Store. It was no contest that the new watch was technically a big leap forward. But the no wave just wore better on my smaller wrist and I though it's less busy dial made it look classier and the movement was a tried and true one. I love the watch, but it has bit me in the ass. Its keeps great time but the date constantly misaligned in the date window. It's back at Omega for the third time for this issue. If they don't fix it this time I'll sell it as the warranty is running out and I'm frustrated 😤.
The first 100 times I looked at a Seamaster, either pics or in the metal, I absolutely detested the helium escape valve. It's slowly grown on me to the point I ended up buying one (on the fantastic rubber strap). Aesthetically I actually prefer to have it now. That said I can appreciate why people would be turned off by it.
if you do buy it get it with sedna gold add more luxury to your wrist you will love it forever and give it 1day to your kid after servicing it of course.
As much as I tend to prefer it without it, I think it has become a pile on point of criticism for many. It’s a defining characteristic and to remove it would be catering more to the people that probably weren’t considering it in the first place than those that love it’s unique silhouette.
@@giovannibucio I did buy one, but with yellow gold two tone, not sedna gold. I'm usually not a huge fan of two tones either, but it just works so well on this one
Bought mine new in 2005 to celebrate my 40th. Black Dial and sword hands. It's the 'perfect' dive/ dress watch. I've taken mine swimming and snorkeling, and worn it with office suit and even my dinner suit. It just does it all and looks correct on each occasion. Get one !
I got the Bond version.. I absolutely love it... I think it looks the part - whether casual or formal. The milanese bracelet and titanium has made it subtle - so goes verywell with suits and evening wear as well.
I presume you’re referring to the "No Time To Die" version as you mentioned the Milanese bracelet and being made of titanium. I love that watch! I COVET that watch!! I positively ACHE for that watch!!! But it’s clearly a sports watch. It might go with *some* suits but I certainly don’t own any suits of that type. But one thing is for sure; it would never go with evening wear (which I presume we're defining as after 6:00 pm formal wear). All that being said, if I actually OWNED that watch - like you do - I’d wear it with damn near everything! (But not a tuxedo.) Enjoy your watch with pride sir! That is a VERY special piece of kit for your wrist… congrats!!!
Saw this two hours after it was uploaded, marched straight over to the dealer and bought a blue face with bracelet. VERY beautiful. VERY blue when the sun hits it. Got my first compliment from someone before I even got home with it. Love it.
Got this exact piece two months ago to celebrate a major anniversary. Bought it on a bracelet and the AD threw in a rubber strap. After a week, went back to the dealer and swapped it to the strap. Teddy is absolutely correct that it's at home on the blue strap. Love this watch and what it represents to me.
I also purchased the white dial version and agree it's the best looking one. I bought it with the stainless bracelet and also bought the black omega rubber strap as an add on. For everyday casual you can't beat it with the rubber strap. Going out in more dressy situations I swap with the stainless bracelet. Very versatile watch especially for a dive watch imo.
When you consider the escalating prices of even entry level luxury watches, the 300M diver (like it or not), may just represent the best value in all of horology at the moment. In a world where SW300 based models are hitting 3-4k from some brands, Omega offers a METAS certified movement, ceramic bezel, 300m of water resistance, open caseback, gorgeous wave dial, and brand cachet. All for under 5k with a typical discount. I have a gray dial on a blue rubber strap and it gets its fair share of compliments and wrist time.
I see that the helium escape valve gets a lot of heat, but I think it gives the watch character and makes it interesting. Even if its use case is something that most of us won't ever experience. Without the helium escape valve this watch would look very generic.
@@alfieakaronaldog Just the circular ones with dive bezels and a single crown coming out of the right side. I’m not a watch expert so I don’t know if there are very many watches like that.😜
I love this seamaster on the blue rubber strap. It’s a watch that you can wear anywhere and be a bit more relaxed wearing it. Worst case you get robbed, you can buy another one tomorrow. Zero stress. Superb.
YES! I own a black dial SMP300, and also briefly owned the white dial. In black, I'd add that it's shockingly versatile (much more so than I expected), and while retaining a definite formidable presence can be surprisingly elegant and understated (for a dive watch, that is). As for the helium valve, personally, I love it, and along with the wave pattern dial on the current gen find those important design selections for a bit of sporty flare. They also significantly differentiate the SMP300 from the Sub, Superocean, GO, etc., etc. With those elements it's very much its own watch, whereas without them, in my mind it would be just kind of another standard diver. Of course, they're not for everyone, and for that reason I'd actually see the Seamaster 300 as having more potential to dress up a bit while leaving the sports to the SMP. As for the price-point, indeed, it's the king of $5k, and I find it interesting nobody else has really tried to make a go at $5k...
@@eyeheartsushi2212 Sure, I bought a brand new white dial SMP300 last year and enjoyed it for about three weeks until the date function began malfunctioning consistently at the same handful of dates (didn't clear up with full wind, cycling through a few times, etc). Ended up returning it. In some light settings the white dial pops like crazy in a good way, in other light settings it felt more like an unremarkable tool watch. For sure I would have kept it had it worked fully. But in any case, I prefer the black dial I own now as it's so much more versatile.
@@eyeheartsushi2212 Thanks so much! Yeah, it was definitely disappointing on an Omega, but on the other hand, it's my "OK, I'm sure glad I bought this from an excellent AD" story and they were totally cooperative and supportive for a return. Ended up being a blessing in disguise though as I swapped it out for a Grand Seiko SBGA201, then bought my black dial SMP300 later, and am much happier this way. Hope you enjoy yours for many years!
I treated myself a few years ago to the blue Seamaster Diver 300, with the blue dial, see through caseback, excellent movement and bracelet and I absolutely love it. For me its THE perfect watch.
I wear my Brosnan era SM often. It remains my favorite diver of all time. I think this modern 300 is so well done. I prefer the dimensions of my old dog but this generation is razor sharp and a ton of watch for the money. The helium valve? Would it be a Seamaster 300 without it? ; )
I purchased the Seamaster Diver 300M in blue a few months ago on the rubber strap. Then I went back to Omega and got the mesh strap and the bracelet. I absolutely love this watch. It’s big but it’s so robust yet refined and elegant! Love my BB58 too!
I will be picking this up ( only question is the color and bracelet or not ) in two weeks. Some 40 years ago, my dad came home with an Omega and since then I have been fascinated and in love with the brand. I have never really had a great watch, settling for cheaper options and currently wearing an Apple Watch. I have always wanted an Omega and since I celebrated my 50th birthday last year in the midst of the pandemic and was not really able to celebrate it in any meaningful way, I have finally decided to spoil myself and get this dream watch of mine. I am sure I will be very happy with it. Thank you Teddy for another great review
Get the bracelet and see if you can get the AD or boutique to throw in the rubber strap as part of the purchase. Worst case scenario you keep a scratch-free bracelet in the box in case you change your mind in the future. Color is a more difficult choice. I went with the black dial. Hope you get the watch and enjoy it for years to come.
I own that watch. It’s my daily, it plays very well with the light. I remember walking into the boutique and falling in love with it at first site and purchased it that day
Omega is my #1 favorite brand these days. I think if the new SMP got the old HEV valve nobody would really mind because that thing was quite small. The HEV is a part of the design language now. Shrink it down, don't eliminate it. The real update I want to see is a presidential style bracelet option for the SMP line, which historically Omega has done. Their new Speedmaster presidential bracelet is honestly as good as it gets, IMHO.
I got my Black Bezel/White Dial variant last year. Couldn't be happier with the watch or the Service at the Boutique here in Zurich. Perfect Customer Experience.
I'm a the proud owner of the white dial version. Its on my wrist 3/4 days per week and the new Speedy is on the rest of the time. Can't complain, life is good
I own the No Time to Die iteration of this watch, and I love it. It dresses up well with the mesh bracelet and dresses down with the NATO strap. With the brushed surfaces, it is also more understated.
I just bought my sea master 300m in seaweed green. I think it’s a great watch and worth getting. It Fits great and wears perfect. It’s a solid piece for the price.
In my opinion, this is a clear winner! I've owned several SM's and Rolex subs and have to say the build quality of the SM vs Sub has always been superior, better bracelets, better bezels. This should be the price point of the sub in all reality for what it is as a watch. I'd love to see the new style 'beads of rice' bracelet in SS, the design is kinda timeless, don't mess with it....Well done Omega!
Ive had my Seamaster 300 for 3 years now, and it is worn 100% of the time I am awake, in all conditions, and yet 7:18 is the first time i found out that the lume is actually a different colour on the minute hand. Now I know its there, its just about noticeable its a different colour, but outside of encasing the face entirely so the lume is the only light source, its pretty hard to tell in reality. RE the helium escape valve - I got to use it once for its designed use case, while in a hypobaric decompression chamber. I have never used it while actually diving, there is absolutely no need for it for basically any diver. Beyond that one instance, i mostly just fiddle with it. Obviously its a staple of the watch's design, and to be honest having a staple like that is something that nearly all over dive watches lack, but functionally I don't think it needs it. This is even more true now than ever, as most divers going to any notable depth will replace an analogue watch is a wrist dive computer, meaning the only ones that would have needed it don't anymore. Aesthetically however, I absolutely do think it is important to keep.
I have a 14060m sub and I love it, but I now have my eyes on the new green SMP, and I honestly think that will instantly become my daily wear. The latest generation of seamaster just speaks to me like the previous generations haven't. I feel like if they simply refined the bracelet to just taper a little bit, it would make the watch more comfortable, and it would be an instant hit. We will see. Great review!
Stunning watch. Was seriously tempted, love everything about it ( mostly the things other people don't) but opted for the 300 heritage model because I'm a grebo biker type & the 300m Diver was just a bit too eye catching and flash for my lifestyle..just sent it off for service, £475 & 13 weeks wait! I don't regret my choice, tho would like one of these in the future. Cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful watch. Wears smaller than watch TH-cam reviewers suggest. The colour change in different real life light conditions is wonderful and the hands & indices really catch the light.
You beat me to it as I was going to say exactly the same thing. I tried one on in London on Tuesday whilst wearing my Rolex Daytona and the size difference wasn’t huge. I’ve only got six inch wrists and the Seamaster fit perfectly.
To me the best bang for buck diver you can get. More attainable than Rolex and better than Tudor. Mine is more accurate over a month than my g- shocks. Bought the white dial Tokyo just an awesome watch!
I have owned this watch for more than 2 years now, and I haven’t had any issues with the AR coating or with the He escape valve. The valve doesn’t get in the way or poor me, ever, and the top of the crystal may have the slightest bit of a mark where the coating was scuffed on the crystal in one spot. I wear this watch as my daily, and it’s my one watch collection so I wear it during basically everything. This is just for people wondering about the issues and how they might affect the wear. Hope this helps
Just had the green dial delivered today and I am absolutely in love. The way the green contrasts from an emerald green to almost black has me very happy with my purchase.
I fell out of love with mine after buying a Black Bay 58 in blue as its so easy to wear because of the smaller size. Watching this video makes me want to wear my Seamaster again. Thank you! 🙂
That is wild. While I prefer the form factor of the Black Bay 58 over the 300m, the fit and finish of a Black Bay 58 is on par with a TAG Heuer Aquaracer. The Seamaster is in an entirely different league.
My favorite watch, I've got the blue on bracelet and the white on rubber. The helium escape valve is part of the charm and makes it easily recognizable. Just a great watch all-around.
I have the full ceramic + titanium version (44mm) - amazing thing to look at. At 8k+, i understand why it's a bit to much for many. Cheers to all your good content!
This was my first luxury watch purchase a few weeks ago (white face, black bezel) and the Omega salesman actually talked me into it over the Moonwatch. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and look forward to returning to the boutique in the future.
I want one of these and not only for the looks, history and technology but for the respected place it has achieved. Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympics since 1932 and is the current timekeeper of the America's Cup yacht race. Omega was a main partner of the 2022 Winter Olympics.
The newest version is far too bulky for my own wrists so I settled for the earlier version with the ceramic bezel. They always hold their value too which is great.
The Omega Seamaster 300/ Diver is by far my favourite watch. I love the black ceramics of the current gen and also got a „vintage“ 22208000 on my sons birthday. The latter has actually also remarkably risen in price, but quite obviously I can never sell it. The 300 is a masterpiece of a vintage remake and also a fantastic watch. As it has been previously commented here: The accuracy of the newest calibers of Omega is incredible. Worn on the wrist regularly, mine actually achieves +/- 0s per day, so I never have to re-adjust. Also the power reserve runs a bit longer than the stated 55h which carries it over the weekend. Just hands down fantastic!
I really love this model, got it in black, but I do like the new green one that has just come out, overall I like the look, but maybe a more updated strap and not such a bulky clasp, and slightly bigger date wheel, I personally don’t mind the helium release valve
I tend to agree that the bracelet feels like a better area to focus than the HRV. After seeing the no time to die watch I think it’s a good to explore different bracelet options.
I'm a rolex guy but just recently acquired a 007 quartz seamaster 41mm blue with wave dial I don't like the bracelet but I put it on a rubber and not a bad watch I only payed 500 for it and a new battery box papers from 2008 I belive cool summer watch I love the new speedy 😎 keep it up teddy GOD BLESS EVERYONE
@@mickeycseki649 No lol, its big boys toys. If you want an investment piece you have to look at the higher, more rare models from the Moonwatch line, or Vacheron, Rolex, Patec ect ect ect. Omega is mass produced toys for adults 99% of the pieces will drop in value the moment you walk out of the boutique.
Don't, its just a "thing" its cool for like the first 2 years or so, but once the honeymoon is over, its just another watch. Hell, I lose mine all over the house, couch, bathroom, bang it on everything imaginable. I got mine as a right of passage and as an "I made it" momento, type thing, but I no longer covet it like I did when I was a kid...its a literal toy for adults.
@@dmora2386 Isn't everything a "thing"? You could literally make that argument about any"thing". Wait... Are you Jack Reacher, walking the country with nothing but a toothbrush and one change of clothes?
I’ve had my white one for over a year and it still feels like I’m in the honeymoon period. I absolutely adore it! It’s my do everything watch, and dare I say, my daily beater. Strange to think of a luxury watch in those terms, but on the rubber strap it feels absolutely indestructible and ready for anything.
I fell in love with this watch when it came out in the Bond Series! This newest generation, is the best "Luxury Dive Watch" for the money. The dial, as your video shows the light/reflections run thru a beautiful range of colors! The Valve throws off the balance for me and others. I would love for Omega offer a version with a built in HEV or not at all. The 300 Heritage, is still my first choice, with an older 300M Pro, as well.(Looking online to pull the trigger at some point). I like a tapered bracelet, however, this bracelet is so striking and reviewers say its so comfortable and can live with it. I read a review of the 300MPro, and the reviewer said he did not like the Escape Value. He rationalized that he could pretend it was a remote detonator or a laser control. I would also. As always Teddy, this was a great presentation! Thank you.
Agree completely with your comments on the rubber strap. Mine is on a black strap with blue accent down the center. Really complements the blue of the face while keeping the dive strap aspect of the piece. I love mine.
I gladly relieved myself of my Submariner, and for all the technological and aesthetic points Teddy makes about this model, acquired it, and I have never second guessed my decision.
I'm lucky enough to have the Olymic version. White face blue bezel... It has an amazing movement and clasp adjustment to go along with it's great looks . Yes I have to say it is a great package and product.
I agree that the newer bond model feels more modern, as well as having a vintage appeal. The darker titanium case, the more minimal dial design and also no date combine to make it one hell of a design. Looks incredible on the nato too
Let’s be honest…… this thing beats the piss out of the Submariner (which is now grossly overpriced). The helium escapement valve doesn’t bother me, I prefer it with it actually, adds character to the watch.
I love this watch. I bought it for my son on his college graduation. I believe that this watches are the best drivers watches under $10,000. If Rolex doesn't change anything on their watches is amazing how they keep tradition but when Omega makes a better diver and know because I have a Submariner most people push for more from Omega. I just don't get it.
I'm sure that a lot of people, like me, just cannot quite get on board with its 90s aesthetic. I want to like it but there's just something thats, 'off.' Its bracelet is especially strange: dated looking with no taper and an ugly clasp. It needs something more like a brushed Rolex Oyster bracelet, which is great. Subs and even their bracelets are just iconic, too, which is another reason to gravitate towards them. Having said this, I actually quite like the no date James Bond SeaMaster which has quite a number of small tweaks that improve it but unfortunately it's much too expensive for what it is.
@@willemdeleeuw8094 Like I said. Rolex hasn't changed much since the 90's but you say Omega Seamaster looks dated. It is my understanding that Omega made the better bracelet and then Rolex followed. The Omega James Bond an amazing watch under $10,000 you think is too much but the Submariner a watch you can't get is fine. Different strokes for different folks.
Totally agree, i wear the black one and it's my one to wear watch. Sporty and classy. This is indeed the best value for money luxury watch in my opinion.
Nice. It’s funny I just got a black dial in bracelet (plus rubber strap) and am considering getting the blue one in the future which goes against my personal watch collecting philosophy of not owning two colors of the same watch LOL.
I like character in a watch. The escape valve and bracelet are characteristics that makes this watch different from other divers. True solid tangible characteristics not just the fonts and hands. I will always cherish mine.
I have this watch on the black rubber strap. The reeses cup at 10 doesn’t bother me… since I’m about as likely to go to 300m diving as I am to get a call from a Rolex AD offering me a SS sub :) I like the design - the dial is crazy good. It almost looks white in some lighting conditions. The quality of finish is right up there with the crowned one. It’s getting to the point where it has a ‘timeless design’ like the sub, and any wholesale changes might ruin the legacy that it’s cementing.
They need to come out with a mid size version with shorter lug to lug. They've done it with aqua Terra, planet ocean, and even speedmaster at one point. I have all 3 of those but no seamaster 300
I, like many, wanted this watch when I saw it in the Bond films. Took me a while to get one. About a decade ago I picked up the 2220.80.00. I prefer that older models because I actually like the hippocampus case back versus seeing the movement. I love this watch. I wear it any time I'm out of the house. It wears beautifully and looks incredible. It fits in for any occasion. I can't think of any other watch in this price point I would want to have. Even after all this time, it still stands out. The new versions, with the improved movement and ceramic bezels, are incredibly nice though.
I have two watches: Rolex 2021 Sky-Dweller with black dial on steel jubilee bracelet and 2010 Vancouver Olympics Seamaster Diver 300 42mm limited edition...only 2,010 made. Love them both equally. My 2010 Seamaster has the same bracelet as the watch in this video.
I have been wearing Omega Seamaster Professional 300 watch since 1996 and I can say that it is not only an iconic creature, but even without Co-Axial one of the most accurate watches in my collection in comparison with Rolex, Panerai and others 😀. May be Chopard? But the Omega rules 🤟🏻🤟🏻
"Less expensive, actual available, more accurate." You nailed it!
Plus you can actually go into an AD, pay retail (or less) and get the watch you want.
I agree 100%, and you basically described my journey into the world of horology.
Honestly, I don’t want to hang around with those who consider amazing 5k watch like seamaster an entry level watch, it’s not
If this marvel is an entry level for you, then you are detached from society and live in your own bubble, stay there alone 😅
This is not a single watch this is THE WATCH, I have been saving as much as I can just to the this piece, the one and only
have you got it yet?
I’ve had my Omega Seamaster 300 for 6 months now - blue dial on a blue rubber strap. I absolutely love it! It’s my everyday watch and it looks incredible.
New to the watch scene, can you tell me why this omega watch (used) is so affordable?
How often do you use it for scuba diving?
@@Lagerfanny-g7e it's not designed for scuba diving
@@Rhythm24inch A waste of money in my opinion.
@@Lagerfanny-g7e a watch? Or a waterproof watch? Or one with an He escape valve?
I get it, people are pussies with watches.
The choice of a red rubber strap sounds really nice. More and more I'm starting to like the idea of a rubber strap in a dive watch.
What brand of red rubber strap did you go with?
@@NPD-lk7ii the Zealande SMP 300M strap in red. It's a perfect fit / replacement for the OEM strap, though not cheap at $175 USD.
Real watch will always be a Casio Gshock. But yeah ur first expensive watch which is NOT for telling time.
Agreed 100 percent
I’m leaning towards the white dial. What are your thoughts on the blue and black dials?
Bring the size down to 40mm, remove the useless/ugly/poorly designed HEV, put sword hands on it, put a coin edge on the bezel, and remove the date window. Then it's a proper watch.
The Seamaster 300 was my first serious horological investment. I will admit, James Bond (Brosnan) did help with the draw to the watch, but after 20+ years of owning it, I can say the Omega is still with me and while it's not a daily wear, I do love when it's on my wrist and the overall love and connection to what it means for me to have it in my collection.
What is your daily?
Same here. I think it's pretty timeless.
The helium escape valve is exactly the reason why I would buy this watch. This plus the wave lines on the dial is what gives the seamaster a distinct look over other dive watches.
It’s to find something that’s not just another sub ripoff. The HE valve and waves make this uniquely Omega.
@@tantheman1100 I scuba dive once and awhile and interested to test this baby out. Never went past 50m with watches I buy. Used an Invicta just cause I can toss it. Also I am a lefty, so doesn't bother me.
Big anniversary coming up Teddy, his and hers Omega’s are at the top of my list. I’m binge watching your reviews again!
Congrats on the anniversary! Thanks for watching as well!
Agreed about the bracelet. It’s distinctive and elevates the luxury aspect of the watch.
I absolutely love the bracelet. But I must admit this is the only part where Omega is behind Rolex.
Also this bracelet is unique - not a copy of another divers' watch.
100% agree, was looking for this comment. One of the best looking bracelets ever made. Truly timeless.
Don’t get your hopes up. Space is fake
Great watch., love it. I bought one in November for my 50th birthday. 2 weeks later, the price went up.
Funny thing is, myself being an owner of SMP 300 white, with all the videos and research I did, they indeed mentioned that the helium escape valve is not really noticeable while wearing. I agree with this so much, sometime I forget that it exist!! I am sure many will agree with me
I can't imagine having it without the helium escape valve. It keeps the design so in-balance!
Yeah funny thing is, myself I own one too haha imagine that I'm relevant now!
Fellow SMP300 owner and I agree.
The He is iconic part of their design!
How often do you use it for scuba diving?
Same and same. And honestly I hope Omega never gets rid of it. It’s quintessential Omega design in the same vein as the Speedmaster.
if you do buy it get it with sedna gold add more luxury to your wrist you will love it forever and give it 1day to your kid after servicing it of course.
I own one as well and think it brings symmetry and balance to the case.
(But not a tuxedo.)
Enjoy your watch with pride sir! That is a VERY special piece of kit for your wrist… congrats!!!
Vintage Titanium Seamaster Diver 300 with a blue dial is a keeper imho
Would love to own one, but I had to get the $200 Heimdallr homage version
@@thomashrubecky1663 When somebody says the "bond" watch, I totally think of the one worn in Goldeneye and Tomorrow never dies. Such a iconic watch.
It's difficult to imagine a Milanese bracelet stated as "subtle". In my opinion, they add elegance. Perhaps too formal for casual wear.
The 300M is my first luxury watch and I absolutely love it. I have the white dial, which I think is the best looking variant of the base 300M.

Same here Jeff. First luxury watch and the white dial also. Love it!

Wow SM as a gym watch. That’s a statement! Thanks for watching.
@@TeddyBaldassarre if you wear it to work and gym at lunchtime, not too many other options! Not sure I’d want to leave it in a gym locker
Jomashop you can pick it up for $4200
grey wave is absolutely the coolest color option
I see that the helium escape valve gets a lot of heat, but I think it gives the watch character and makes it interesting. Even if its use case is something that most of us won't ever experience. Without the helium escape valve this watch would look very generic.
I think that’s why they keep it. You can see it and go Omega.
Especially if you use the watch on the right arm like me. Feels very natural
They should stick a few more on if it’s so good then 🥴
It would not look at all generic without it lol.

I also have the black dial which is lovely. You mentioned you briefly owned the white dial. How briefly and how did you let go of it, if I may ask?
@@eyeheartsushi2212 Sure, I bought a brand new white dial SMP300 last year and enjoyed it for about three weeks until the date function began malfunctioning consistently at the same handful of dates (didn't clear up with full wind, cycling through a few times, etc).
Totally agree with you man the He last gen was perfect and the bracelet would really catapult the watch, they also need a working bezel
I got my Black Bezel/White Dial variant last year. Couldn't be happier with the watch or the Service at the Boutique here in Zurich. Perfect Customer Experience.

The grand seiko ad halfway in was as good as the TB review, good job!
13 weeks wait, that is just crazy
@@ecoetwo2154 yes. Back to Switzerland...🥺
@@stevefox8605 13 weeks!? Is someone walking it there or something??
I have the blue dial version on the bracelet. Love it.
That’s good to know. I got mine a month ago.
You know why Teddy's video are great? Because he gets to the point immediately.
Own one (black dial) since 2020 and it's a fine timepiece. The dial is so stunning and you never get tired looking at the beauty of it.
Just had the green dial delivered today and I am absolutely in love. The way the green contrasts from an emerald green to almost black has me very happy with my purchase.
Are you still enjoying your “seaweed” a year later?
@@claudtalkz2194absolutely, wear it every other day usually.
One year later . I bought it white dial ! So happy . And it means everything to me to buy something after a looooong wait
This and the MOTM Speedmaster are two must have timepieces in any serious collection.
The 2531 and the 3570 are my two Omega watches. The latest Seamaster is a gorgeous watch though.
Cheers to all your good content!
love mine so much I bought the 2 tone chronograph to compliment it. A chronograph that works @ 300m, what a time to be alive!
That’s why you watch Teddy’s channel!
@@mjdm1925 haha yes!
@@TeddyBaldassarre the mesh bracelet has a bulky clasp, moreso than the regular clasp.
@@TeddyBaldassarre definitely teddy but I wasn’t a fan of that particular bracelet to be honest
Man, I was just thinking about this watch. Fair play. It is my dream watch to own in the future. Cheers Teddy!
yeah my dream too, is this watch a good investment btw ??
@@rouxbix9494 Well, add my Seamaster, and youve nailed it.
Just acquired the black SMP 300 yesterday. The best diver on the market at its price IMO
Enjoy the honeymoon haha
Honestly I think that isn’t even an opinion at this point. It inarguably beats more expensive divers.
@@saynototheborg Such as?
@@TeddyBaldassarre That sounds quite dark Teddy 😂
@@alfieakaronaldog from a purely technical standpoint it beats Breitling, Tudor, Rolex, Glaschute Original, Ulysse Nardin, and Cartier dive watches.
I just bought this watch. Omega really delivered a excellent watch with everything. Especially for the Price 5.7k
I gladly relieved myself of my Submariner, and for all the technological and aesthetic points Teddy makes about this model, acquired it, and I have never second guessed my decision.
Do you mind answering why you ended up relieving your watch?
0:42 Are there two intro music pieces playing over each other? Something symphonic and a slow drum beat, but they don't align.
Own the black , it’s really a great piece. Hell of a watch at this price point.
The bracelet looks and is timeless. Period.
I'm lucky enough to have the Olymic version. White face blue bezel... It has an amazing movement and clasp adjustment to go along with it's great looks . Yes I have to say it is a great package and product.
Just bought one in black last week, so far I really like it. The design actually grown on me more as I have worn it for the whole week.
I agree that the newer bond model feels more modern, as well as having a vintage appeal. The darker titanium case, the more minimal dial design and also no date combine to make it one hell of a design. Looks incredible on the nato too
Love AMZWATCH watch, Such a great looking watch to match with the precisionist movement.
Let’s be honest…… this thing beats the piss out of the Submariner (which is now grossly overpriced). The helium escapement valve doesn’t bother me, I prefer it with it actually, adds character to the watch.
Just got mine today in blue dial and gosh....It is a phenomenal time piece. Omega for life.
Wearing my Seamaster diver 300 today as I watch this :)
This is really the best Watch TH-cam channel, planning on buying these exact same Omega Seamaster 300. Can't be more excited!
Sub 10k there are the Seamasters "Planet Ocean" from Omega.
Totally agree, i wear the black one and it's my one to wear watch. Sporty and classy. This is indeed the best value for money luxury watch in my opinion.
Since I can no longer find or afford Rolexes I'm into Omegas - I have black 300M on steel bracklet and blue on rubber strap....plus now have a Speedy.
The reeses cup at 10 doesn’t bother me… since I’m about as likely to go to 300m diving as I am to get a call from a Rolex AD offering me a SS sub :)
I like the design - the dial is crazy good. It almost looks white in some lighting conditions. The quality of finish is right up there with the crowned one.
It’s getting to the point where it has a ‘timeless design’ like the sub, and any wholesale changes might ruin the legacy that it’s cementing.
Just got one last month and I adore it. I originally was sure I wanted an Aqua Terra but when I tried the 300 on it just fit my wrist better.
They need to come out with a mid size version with shorter lug to lug. They've done it with aqua Terra, planet ocean, and even speedmaster at one point. I have all 3 of those but no seamaster 300
I am now proud to say this is my first luxury watch. I bought it a week ago and i'm loving it
Best dive watch for the price point.
For the last time, get over the helium escape valve. It's called a feature.
Teddy is the James Bond of watch reviewers. This is a great watch, and worth saving up for. Watch collecting is a marathon, not a sprint.
I wear one at my job every day. Love it. Subtle, classy, durable and accurate.
