I have a 2019 Ninja 650. I have seen the biggest performance gains from installing an AIS back-off plate. It is located just behind the air box. It stops a little bit of the exhaust from being redirected back into the air box. I would recommend using a resistor on the female connector left on the bike so you do not get the engine light. You can find the process on TH-cam.
I actually already have both installed, a block off plate and resistor. They don't exactly give you any boost it's mostly to stop the emission smog pump from burning off excess fuel that causes the engine to run hotter and also why you normally have those deccel Pops and gurgles if you only have a full exhaust installed with no other mods. Actually have another video before this where i install the block off plate.
@FlashedNinja. If I have 2 Wheel Dynoworks disable the PAIR valve. Would I still need to install the block off plate? Any insight would be greatly appreciated
I emailed them about that before I sent it to them, they have it on their website that they disable it but still recommend that you install the block off plate in order to avoid excessive deccel Pops and crackle which is what I ended up doing, you will also want to get a resistor as i still got an Fi light come on even after they said they disable it.
Great content for the 650. I have a 2021 Ninja 650 with a full system Yoshimura. I want to get my ECU flashed and do the block off plates. Where did you feel the most gains from flashing the ECU? Was it worth it?
You definitely won't turn it into a superbike but it is much more alive and breathes much better without all the emission crap. You feel most of the gain in the down lows when taking off and some extras on the top. Definitely can hit 130 no problem which i did a few times i did have to use a gps speedo app since the dash reads 125-126 it's about 4-5mph off. I actually have two or three more videos coming up for the 650 but after that I'll be posting on a 2021 zx-6r, the last videos on the 650 will just be a tst integrated light upgrade, few engine only motovlog of daily rides and last day with the bike. Mainly most of my videos involve no talking just engine sounds only. Maybe some dumb music videos here and there lol
@@FlashedNinja awesome man! Thanks for the info. I’ve been wanting to do it for a while so I think I’m gonna go for it. I’m gonna send it to 2 Wheel Dyno Works. Where did you send yours?

@@CSWSTHEHUSTLE the cost for the ECU flashing? $300 plus shipping cost since I had to ship it myself which was only $8 when I did. So total about $330-ish overall. The cost does change depending on different bikes but for the ninja 650 that's what I paid.
@FlashedNinja I have a 2012 ninja 650 with aftermarket exhaust headers back, been thinking hard about doing a ecu flash and then got stumped: full exhaust, o2 plug cap already installed and no check engine light, maybe it's been flashed already?
@@CSWSTHEHUSTLE previous owners on the bike? If so then it's possible though not sure on the older model if a light would flash for O2 sensor capped, it wouldn't come on if you swap your exhaust or headers. Give it a good check on anything else mod wise but possible it's been flashed but who knows by who as it could have been flashed for performance or other things. If it's riding well without issues or spark plugs not showing signs of lean or too rich then I would leave it as is and would only send to get flashed if there are some rideability issues or it's running off.
I made a third person camera rig that is small and simple with just a backpack, a few pieces of PVC pipe and some super glue. I am trying to work on making a separate video on making it but i just haven't made the time or brought the parts it yet :(

@@FlashedNinja yeah I already have my Yoshimura full exhaust system installed. My DNA air filter came in. I just need to order the rest of the list you have. Ironically we have the same bike and we want the same setup lol and you’re the first person to post videos about it. So this helps.
@@shawnkurtisTV good deal man yeah i could not find anything on this particular model with the setup i got going so i figured i should make a video on it, if you run into any issue let me know ride safe man
No i didn't think of measuring the loudness but can definitely say as mine was missing the db killer even at high speed i could definitely still hear the exhaust 😂 it's a growler
It feels so much more different the engine sounds much smoother, take off is better, acceleration is not completely different but it feels better accelerating, engine temperature is cooler and I have not yet fully tested it but i believe i have better mileage i still need to ride it more to see how different it is now.
Well anything is a waste of cash lol but i still got some improvements out of them like my exhaust isn't gurgling, popping or crackling after installing block off plate, the engine before any of this stock use to reach 225 degrees even when cruising now with DNA air filter and ecu flashed it stays between 175-187 and drops to 156-168 in highways, and even though it's not much i did gain a good give or take extra 25-30 miles in range. Obviously it's a waste of cash but i chose to waste it and other will too and eventually just end up getting another bike 😂
I think he meant waste of cash on that particular bike... I had the same bike but 2022 model and added full exhaust (bc it has to be , no slip ons), fender eliminator and after 3 months was gonna do the same thing and everyone kept telling me don't waste money on the adds get a 1000cc then waste the $$. After 3 months I went to a 2023 ninja zx10r and now have about 3k in it but do all the labor myself except the flash. Honestly you could put 10,000.00 that bike and it wouldn't hold up to a new z900 for 10k. But I didn't need experience bc of a lifetime of riding dirt bikes. But it's all personal preference and ur money in the end...
Ah okay I probably responded to his comment half asleep when I did lol but the basic mods is all this bike needs for some better mileage and smoother running bike anything else is purely cosmetic. Just pop a full exhaust, high flow air filter, flash it and done. That bike isn't going to be running any faster or sportier but it's going to just be a better commuter bike. I'm on a zx6r now and gas wise I'd switch back but I just love this bike more to go back 😂 I would have wanted the zx10r but I'm super content with the 6r and it does has better down low power, also coming from a dirt bike background it's weird to explain but the zx10r feels too heavyweight to maneuver at slower speeds while I can flick the zx6r with better ease.
@FlashedNinja hell yeah, i love the 636 but when I got to the dealer and seen it it just was too small for me. I'm 6'4 205lbs soit wasn't a match but I love the aggressive stance even more than the zx10r. Makes you lay down 100% . Oh man I can't get my zx10r to do slow speeds hahaha but luckily for me cop's around here do not pull us over.
Oh dang you're tall I'm over here just 2 inches under from being 6' lol so the zx6r is perfect for my size it definitely makes you lay down more better at maneuvering through traffic at slow speed.
