Imagine living with a family you believed adopted you for the better part of your life, only to find out that the family never adopted you, and instead tricked you into signing a conservatorship that has been making them millions.
Well, that right there is the story of Michael Oher and Sean and Leigh Anne Touhy and how they possibly scammed, betrayed and manipulated him. Yup, Im sure yall saw that oscar winning movie Blind Side and how that white family changed the life of a talented Black Boy - well it was all a lie.
So what really is the truth?

Look up the court documents. He is not suing them. Michael is ended the conservatorship. He is demanding an accounting of the how they performed their fiduciary duty for the last 20 years. The Touhys need to abide to what they signed.

Read Michael's 2011 book and the book for the movie. The word is that Mike's the one that's lying. Be careful what you put out there. Just a word of caution.

I loved the movie too! I always wanted to know the real story and oddly couldn't ever find it. It was always the same story similar to the movie. I hope he gets full justice.

Is it against the law to deceive/outsmart a person? He signed those documents by choice, he should have read the contract first. Let this be a lesson for all. Adoption after 18 don't exist.

The Tuohy's, the lawyers, the judge and Michael's own mother who was at the court proceeding from the conservatorship all lied to him? As if the internet didn't exist for Michael to look up the word "conservatorship"? Really? He clearly knew it was a conservatorship because he wrote about it in his 2010 published book!!!
You are taking a one-sided story & claim as truth. A forensic accountant will easily be able to track all funds from the movie. The truth will come out. His own book in 2011 he stated he knew he had a conservatorship....

Why did it take 10 years to check out the paper work. I can understand his disappointment, but waiting 10 years to pursue this. Seems kind of late.

@@rg-pq1kb Doesn't change the fact that the family lied to him concerning what the papers were about- adoption not conservatorship. They took advantage of his naivety concerning the faux adoption situation like predators of every situation do with vulnerable children. He believed the Touhy family's lying words. Time will tell what the outcome of their situation will be.
There is some irony in that he apparently will just sign anything out in front of him which indicates he needs a conservancy

And like a lot of us when seeing the movie, it was too wrapped up, too perfect.
And tho I know it was just an adaptation of the story, I'm also well aware of these do gooder type of ppl & how pretty much nothing in this world is really how it seems anymore.
U have 2 dig deeper almost always.
There are always 3 sides or more to every story & I firmly don't believe he was trying to "shake them down" for money he wasn't owed.
Rather he just wanted what he was FAIRLY owed or he would tell everyone.
They did what alot of rich white manipulators do & that is to lie thru their teeth 2 continue 2 squeeze the last little bit of life from their cash cow.
And lastly, I am white so this isn't about race 4 ME, but it is for the family.
He trusted them when they told them it was like adoption. Also what teenager in 2005 know about conservitorships.
@@jhuh24 You're making an assumption that the Tuohy's, the lawyer and the judge all lied to him. And also, what exactly did the Tuohy's gain by lying to him? Did they not provide for him? Maybe a teenager ... an 18 year old might have not understood... but it took him until the age of 37 to figure it out? Maybe the reason he never bothered to learn had to do with the fact that the Tuohy's did in fact did everything for him like he was their own child?
I saw the movie bc love Sandra B but truth is out now.. and movie is all mess up..and the fam is wrong smh 4 that..

Child star’s parents have been doing this for years. Children with talent are seen as cash cows. And Sandra Buleck or waste a shouldn’t have won nothing her acting sucked in that movie.
